Go Shiina & (notsomuch) Yuki Kajiura to compose for Kimetsu no Yaiba

I am liking the song. Yes, it has elements of Kajiura's usual compositional tropes and chord progression, and the strings are all over the song. It also seems to have a few thematic elements to tie in a bit to "Tokoshie「永久 -トコシエ-」" (the song sung by HYDE, or just reminded me of it one part.

I appreciate the Tokyo Konsei-sized chorus kajiurago with it's powerful chant. This already shows us what will be required to perform the song in a YKL setting - though Kajiura could decide to use her in-house vocalists instead.

The major/pleasant/hopeful section is really nice. I like the more rapid bass action at that section. Actually, the bass was quite prominent throughout.

You gotta love Kajiura just going ahead with her common song length of over 6 minutes. 😁 She's not trying to conform to the trend of shorter songs in popular music.

Yes :D
(Though I think it's LiSA's own choice, since Kajiura gives singers quite a lot of freedom usually)
Yeah, Kajiura won't just stomp all over the guest vocalist's choices, especially a pro/star like LiSA.

I am sure she will give her thoughts and she and LiSA will find a middle ground that still supports the lyric while allowing LiSA to express herself vocally. The singer has to feel what they're singing as well as say what the composer wants to be said.

I liked the half-time middle section with all the dark/dramatic instrumentation and vocals. LiSA's switching from chest mix to head voice multiple times was nice, gave me a slight Ado feel, since she (Ado) does that quite a bit.. ❤️

I will also be interested to hear a (future) acoustic-instrumental version with lots of vocal support (FJ regulars or a choir). I wonder how that would sound, especially at the chanting parts. ❤️

Wow this song is a journey. It feels a little chaotic, but I think that ends up working cuz every minute ends up feeling like a surprise. I'm also loving Lisa's delivery. It's dramatic and theatrical in a way that gives the song an almost rock opera feel. All in all it's a hit for me.

I like it. Flows better than the previous two songs this year. Love 1:55-2:15 and I can't believe I'm singling out a part like that in a LiSA song of all singers.

I just wish my mind didn't go to YAKOU TORYO verses during LiSA's ?verse/opening vocal cascade. Maybe it's not a big deal but my mind does go to it.

I'm guessing this new choir might be our new mainstay? Maybe they are better/cheaper/requirelessbeaurocracy than TK? Just an uneducated guess.

PS. Thought this would be a neat song to have a single with 2 instrumentals, one with choir and one without. Alas, 1 it will be.

Hope the full digital single with instrumental will have a hirez version like the prerelease.

Love 1:55-2:15
Yeah, she emoted nicely during that dreamy section, since she sang softly but still communicated the feeling including with the vibrato at the ends of her lines. That is not easy for any singer especially one who's often communicates emotion by belting. I am curious about the lyrics at that section.

I think she got to show a better variety of vocal ability/emotion to my hearing, singing less in her loud piercing belt (except at the chorus section), and instead singing more in her lower chest voice.

She should be able to perform this song quite well in a live setting, since she didn't need to be in high range for most of the song's length.

I'm not too hot on LISA's vocals, also I think it's loud. the song overall is very interesting, I can definitely see myself going back to now and then:)

the instrumental at the end of the MV teaser sounds intriguing as well.

So I watched the movie again. Love Kajiura’s songs in the movie. The 2nd part of Lisa’s song greatly fits the movie scenes. Didn’t expect LiSa’s song to actually make me emotional. Kajiura’s music ended the movie in such an amazing way. Damn! The effort they put in this movie is no joke ❤️❤️❤️❤️
