omg hikaru so layered up (that's what, one heavy overcoat, a hoodie, then a sweater, and i see a plaid button-up tied around your waist.....) amazingu. admittedly i really really do not like this outfit though because it brings to mind the winos you see around here in town..... i wonder if she gets cold really easily though; i'd rather dress like a scrub and stay warm as well

wakana's outfit is really cute, albeit quirky lol idk if i'd call it "ghibli-like" though. the bowler(?) hat and the dress are quite cute, but idk if they fit together too well?

keiko is the best for me this time as well: DAT CAT SWEATER THO how chic. also jr. you look fabuloussss

Hikaru: I have nothing against dressing warmly, and like IB, I'd prefer looking blah to being cold. But there are ways to dress warmly without looking sorta... dumpy? The coat is lovely, but that checkered... whatever it is... and the long dress are bit much. I mean, there comes a time when pants just work better if you're cold, lol.

Wakana : I actually really like her clothing ensemble. The bowler is actually somehow fitting for her overall outfit.

Keiko : agree with Coral. I don't really like the cat shirt, but there's something that made it just fine with Keiko's. Love the skirt and the shoes.

Hikaru : omg too much of everything. The coat is too...fluffy (?) and the checkered-thingy on her waist was a bit too much. If that checkered-thingy is a shirt/sweater, I'd rather have Hikaru wear it than the t-shirt + thick winter coat. And agree with Coral about the pants work better for keeping you warm.

@ rita: I think those dresses are materialisation of Sony's revenge to Yuki for taking Kalafina to rest for 6 months due to FJ's album and tour (they probably thought "since they arent going to release anything till July at least what's the point to spend alot of money for their dresses")

Those dresses are alright, at least it was from the waist to top. And then Hikaru posted the whole body shot of them.

That skirt (although those dresses are most likely a one-piece dress, so let's say from waist below) are horrible. That material looked so...cheap. That green-thingy on Hikaru, purple on Keiko and blue on Wakana are so unflattering. Wakana's the worst-it looks like it's a curtain hanging from her waist. And those floral patterns-idk if they're going with the spring theme or what, but looking at their overall dresses, it was too much. Imo they should settle between using the floral pattern-material or that green-purple-blue material, not both of them on the same dress. Or at least settle for one color for each member. Those two combined are horrible.

And what's the point of Keiko's dress have that green shoulder strap?

What I hate the most about Kalafina's dresses are they almost always put too much unnecessary details or layers (consolation dresses-the simplified version are much better, Yume no Daichi dresses-too many layers, 5th anniv.live, storia costume...) The only costume that have too many details and still looked somewhat nice is their Hikari no Senritsu dresses, but still the shoes are killjoy imo.

And FBM always use the same costume over and over again. Poor them. Idk if they don't get a costume, or their management simply don't want to spend extra money for their costume - but still, with their income they obviously can buy some new shirts or jacket by they own. Sato's wearing his Red Moon live costume, and he wore his After Eden live shirt on live vol.9. Sakurada always use the same shirt..Korechan is either that shirt or the horrible black shirt with black jacket/tuxedo he wore on live vol.4 and live vol.9.

And yeah, Wakana's sleeves are waaayyy too big lol.

omfg this is so horribly funny but i wouldn't be surprised if it really was part of the truth sobsob but kalafina apparently does have some input over their dresses (like the xmas live ones for 2013)... right? COME ON GUYSSSSS

so basically my whole opinion for these new dresses can be summed up by:
bad colors, bad print sobsob. the green is totally ugh, like aki and ritar pointed out; i'm not so sure brown would've been a much better choice because that would've blended too much with the purple imo. wakana dem shoulder sleeve things why. keiko dat green strap why. wakana dat top layer why. hikaru dat window-frame dress (long in back, short in front) why. personally i think the best version of that was for hikaru's after eden dress lmao (but that's probably because i love after eden dresses to bits )

um dat green strap though. it just looks so weird on macho-senpai; it's way too thick lmao and places the wrong emphasis on her lovely shoulder/arms. if it was both sides like the white/cream dresses back in magia tour(?) then that would work. the one-shoulder dresses like the after eden live would also work. this? nawwww.

yeah even i liked the 5th anni dresses better than this because dem corsets for wakana and hikaru yessss oh btw, that reminds me: i thought it was odd how in design, this time keiko and hikaru kinda mirror each other. usually it's wakana-hikaru or (rarely) wakana-keiko.

that being said i do like wakana's new hairstyle (that french braid!!!!) although it does not fit her dress at all. some hair needs to be down plz

also uh those sprinter dresses.... i kinda wish they'd just leave it alone OTL. and without long hair/huge hair accessories it just looks so empty. they look much better in the PV and personally i think they should just leave it for the PV.... i wonder why they wore it this time though?

My vote for the previous round goes to Wakana too.
As much I'm biased towards Team Animal, the shark goddess is a clear winner.

Yup I agree about the return of sprinter dresses. Idk if it's just me but I think because those dresses are already too old, it kinda look so...shabby right now? They don't have the crispness (omg sorry for my bad choice of word) they used to back there in 2009.

About the belts : Kalafina should stick to the corset. The only belt that looked nice is Wakana's belt in AE/symphonia PV dress but that belt wasn't that big. But Consolation dresses's belt are quite nice for me. Or a belt-corset combo like their red to the beginning live costume. Those are cool.
