I don't like suspenders and I don't like shorts + tights combo (or tights on their own, for that matter...). Keiko wears too much of the former and Wakana too much of the latter, lol. I'm generally cool with Keiko's outfits outside of the suspenders though. And to Wakana's credit, she looked good in the two latest Niconico lives (she might've had the shorts + tights thing in one of them, I can't remember, but it was designed in a non-obtrusive way).

Haha, me talking about fashion... when I grab the first pair of jeans my hands touch every morning...
 
i dig the shorts+tights, but that's because i wear it a lot and it's prevalent in modern asian fashion lol. i'd say that wakana is a huge fan of tights underneath anything (so is hikaru, but hikaru pulls it off much better because she goes for edgy things. by edgy i mean questionably short shorts. also she's forgoing the tights for some reason, but i'm not really complaining...)

i kinda miss wakana's butterfly shirts, because they look really nice on her body shape and emphasize her chest the way it should be wow do i sound like a pervert. basically what i mean is that she looks best in shirts/tops where it clings to the top of her breasts, but is loose enough so that it hangs down and tightens around her waist, like in this pic:

btw, i'm by no means a fashionista, but i do try my best to keep up with these things, especially with where i live OTL

i just want keiko to wear more blouses with blazers. is that too much to ask for ;A; (yes)

Didn't Hikaru wear that furry thing on Keiko's shoulder on their recent nicovideo interview?

Anyway, about style. Sorry immortal, but I have this thing where I really hate butterfly-dresses. They made every woman looks unflattering, imo (from my point of view as a guy). On their free time, I absolutely love Keiko's style the most - like that one in the popcorn shoppe, or her dress in their Hikarifuru-single release Niconico broadcast. I'm not a big fans of suspender, so I actually like it more when Keiko didn't wear it properly. Keiko almost always changes her fashion style, so she looked 'fresh' most time. Wakana, on the other hand, has this thing for using legging as base with miniskirt or shorts in almost every occasion - she had been doing this since 2009, their FJ everlasting song live. Hikaru...her style is pretty much the same. She liked to play it safe (lol, my words). As in, her dresses are almost all in the same 'theme', idk how to say it.

keiko does try to mix up her fashion as often as possible, which i completely respect (although some of her choices i don't respect as much....). lately i've been thinking that she's been choosing more "conservative" choices -- whether that's because of her age or because it's been getting colder we'll have to see :XD:

i kinda see what you're trying to say with hikaru's fashion style -- i think what you're looking for is "youth". between her and keiko, they tend to dress more "edgy" and hikaru moreso, so it looks like she's "playing it safe" as always by selecting clothing with shorter hems/bare more skin. for example, in the pics that they took while in boston, hikaru wears this dress and omigosh that dress. is so short.

lately i feel like that kind of trend has appeared more and more in her wardrobe... on a side note, i kinda wish she'd stop wearing chiffon, but she does make it work, so meh....

you know what i just realized. i kinda want to see them all in pants/jeans. when was the last time i have.... (although this was definitely not the latest time, i keep thinking of keiko IN JEANS OMG in kajifes vol#4 dear lord strike me down where i stand :nosebleed: but then she goes and wears that horrid pink pair of skinny jeans or those loose grey/pinstripe slacks and ughhhh :blood:)

last sidenote: i actually really like all they wear in this pic (even if ugh pinstripes....). i am getting so many mom-vibes from wakana here :ohoho: sorry if i'm getting all up in your faces guys OTL

Thanks for posting that pic! I adore Keiko's outfit from top to toe there. That blazer, that shirt inside, that jacket she tied on her waist, that pants (or was it skirt?), that shoes! All perfect. On the side notes : I HAVE A JACKET/SWEATER/WHATEVER THAT IS TOTALLY THE SAME WITH THE ONE KEIKO TIED ON HER WAIST. I'M LOVING THAT JACKET MORE NOW. Anyway we can see how Keiko really paid attention the her style the most. Using sunglasses as accessories? Good job. Wearing a blazer but tied a jacket on the waist for more casual effect? NICE. That style is the perfect example of your nice sense of fashion, Keiko! :goodjob:

And yeah, Hikaru's style is more...youth-like. Short dresses, short skirt, but her style pretty much revolves around the same theme. But she worked that style the best, so I can't say I'm unimpressed. But maybe some variation would be nice. Rather than short dress and longer jacket, actually Hikaru can make it better if she wore a shirt and that shirt tucked into a short or hotpants or miniskirt. That way, she can looked less layer-y, unlike that outfit. Her outfits looked like a white chiffon cake, imo. Thin brown outside, fluffy yellow inside.

Of all the utahimes, I rarely can stand Wakana's sense of fashion the most. One day she used something that totally stands out and mismatched from top to toe, the next day she's gorgeous, and on the next day she goes wearing something that makes her looked so old. Like that skirt. Well, I can't stand long skirt being used with t-shirt, like what Wakana did on that photo, or Yuriko and Kaori did in live vol.4, or Keiko did in the rehearsal for live vol.9. You can wear that if you're going out on a sunny day to a grassland, but not for indoor activities imo.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO omg for some reason i find this super super super funny :XD: i actually really love the layering that she's got on, but it wouldn't be bad to see her tuck things in... keiko does that often, i think, and often it's a 50/50 because of her body type imo -- she's just too short and not as slender as hikaru, who would make that work better

omg wakana. she's so hit and miss so i totally know what you mean :TdT: i can't stand long skirts in general, but for some reason i prefer to see wakana on them more often than not (probably because i feel she's got that mature older woman feel going... or something like that)

Can't stand Keiko's sexy socks - doesn't go well with her overall looks. Love that hairstyle, that hat, that necklace!
Hate Wakana's messy hair. Another example of legging-base with shorts outside from Wakana. Could work better if Wakana wore something sleeveless. Love that shoes, but it doesn't go well with that legging.

I'm turning into a fashion critics here. :XD:
 
I might be a bit off here but, considering she is the "eldest" one of the three, is it possible Wakana is more conservative and/or might not be as comfortable showing her legs compared to Keiko or Hikaru? :punched: :imdead:

Looking back at some of the concerts:

FJ Live #4: None (though she switched to leggings for the encore)
FJ Live #9: long boots
FJ Live HK: Sheers
Kalafina Red Moon: Sheers + none (?)
Kalafina After Eden: None (?)

(If she was wearing nude sheer for the "none" entries, I couldn't tell)

On the flip side, Yuriko Kaida usually wear long skirts or sheers.... :punched:

Having said that, does that mean Wakana should ask Keiko or Hikaru for fashion advice? As in...

^oh no, i completely agree. of all the people in FJC, i'm pretty sure wakana is the one who's the most uncomfortable with image/live/performance. in fact, an interesting thing i've noted some time ago: it's probably only a small part of the reason why, but keiko's almost always in the middle in pics.... this might be because both wakana and hikaru have admitted to hating having pics taken of them straight on. in any case, WAKANA YOU DON'T HAVE TO WEAR SHORTS (WITH OR WITHOUT LEGGINGS/TIGHTS). imo WEAR DRESSES INSTEAD :goodjob:

also good lord damn that pic. i'm sorry but i have to say that wakana catches the most attention there :punched: more to the point -- i really don't like either of their clothes here. mismatched stripes... :blood:
 
Pink shorts + black leggings = definite no. That's exactly the type of fashion I wish Wakana would stay away from. Sure, Hikaru wears it too, but hers are usually totally black and/or more fitting. Wakana's shorts are just way too baggy and often in mismatched colours with her tights.

I don't really care about messy hair or not. As someone with hair of the same length and style, I'll confirm that it's impossible to keep neat all the time. One tiny breeze, one single head-turn, and the perfection is gone. Unless you happen to have very obedient hair, and judging by Wakana's love for ponytails, I don't think she does. Not every pic is gonna come out perfect, and there's nothing Wakana can do about it (unlike the clothing).

I dislike stripes in general, so I probably don't need to say more about the last pic.

I pretty much agree that Keiko > Hikaru > Wakana in terms of casualwear (though I do wish Keiko would stop with the suspenders). Oddly, I have the exact opposite opinion when they're in their "Kalafina stage gear." I tend to like Wakana's outfits best, followed by Hikaru, followed by whatever poofy-sleeved article that's put on Keiko.

I REMAIN FIRM IN MY BELIEF THAT AFTER EDEN WAS THE BEST PERIOD FOR STAGE DRESSES. well except for the blue and black magia-tour ones but i can give them some leeway because corsets
 
Yeah, After Eden live was kind to Keiko. And Wakana and Hikaru, but that's more expected. ;)

I don't think the other live dresses were bad per se (except Maya's outfit during Aria and Kizuato live. It looked alright in the Sprinter PV but onstage...). However, Keiko's puffed sleeves and "hair that seemed in danger of getting in her mouth" were quite distracting in Red Moon. And Hikaru and Wakana's corsets were too prominent... Don't kill me, I like corsets, but not when they draw too much attention to themselves (another example: Hikaru in Symphonia PV, which was otherwise beautiful).

Magia tour dresses were good, and Keiko's puffy sleeves were down to a more manageable size, lol. Still, I think Wakana's bare shoulder outstaged her... Gets punched.

Wakana needs to wear more strapless/one-shouldered dresses that show off her lovely collarbones, neck and shoulders. :shy: She has lovely collarbones and very elegant neck curvature. :nosebleed:

I ACTUALLY THINK THOSE DRESSES ARE THEIR BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE OUTFITS, LOL. :XD: Well, that blue-thingies are just in the way, get rid of them and it's marvelous for me. KALAFINA IN LEATHER = WIN.

Yeah, I agree with Coral about the 'puffy shouldered dress they keep putting on Keiko' since red moon. Well, I actually kinda like the one in Magia, it matched the bob-wig they put on Keiko. No for that weird shoulder dress in red moon, to the beginning, and Hikarifuru. Hikarifuru I hate the most because Keiko looked kinda has such a crooked-back there. I actually can't stand the puffy shoulder on their recent black dresses in their calendar photos, but it's somehow sophisticated and elegant so I forgive it.

and i totally agree. WAKANA MORE SLEEVELESS/STRAPLESS PLEASEEEEEEE OMG SO GREAT and on the other hand keiko that territory is not for you :plot: also, imo hikaru also looks quite nice in strap/sleeveless shirts/dresses :love:
