Explain why do you love "This YK Song/Perform" ? (non Kala)

Disclaimer: I have a bias to Kaori's vocal, so....

Everlasting song (Live): Great composition, very beautiful 'flow' of sound. And of course Kajiura's chorus arrangement is very complex, yet smooth and appealing. And the girls in live #2 executed these choruses flawlessly and provided a great chance to show the characteristic of their voices.

Dream scape: One of Kaori's very early song already strike me with the her bright, detailed vocal. Plus she her part so accurately done.

Cynical world: I don't know about this, but I really love Keiko sexy low voice (Live #5 CD). Compared to the original Emily Bindinger version (Fiction 2003), she showed more details in her vocal. (In fact I feel Emily is lacking vocal details throughout the whole CD of Fiction). And also the violin improvisation is awesome and unusual (I think) to Konno. Uillean pipes is quite unusual too.

Key of the twilight (Kaori Live only) : I can't elaborate too much on this other than Kaori's well controlled voice. Love it even more with the violin solo.
Actually I think she didn't just sing every note accurately. Some singer can do that too, maybe better even. But she also give out so much details (high and lows in each note) into the song, and still well under controlled. While some other singers, when s/he stresses on a note it goes distorted (sounds like shouting) or out-of-note. That's what (I think) makes her so special.

Abel's Ark

I love the simplicity of this one as well. The melody is so relaxing, and the chimes are great. It has a wintery feel to it, which fits right now although it can be listened to in the rain as well I guess. The piano is nice and calming.

Everytime You Kissed Me

-again, I always look forward tot he strings, the melody is so warm, kind a poetic lyrics. :hearts:

Hoshikuzu
- best track from Everlasting Songs album
- Keiko + Kaori is always striking
- The "iliya iliya" chant
- The strings / violin
- It makes me feel like I'm seeing a shooting star with someone I love

cynical world (FJ version)
- Keiko's powerful voice
- Keiko's English is very clear here, except for the warm bridge part.
- Keiko's wailing
- The instrument used in the beginning
- Konno-san's violin is SUPER :)

I Swear
- It has a very romantic lyrics
- The easy listening feeling from the song
- Again, the strings

hitorigoto
- Keiko, Kaori, Wakana, Yuriko :)
- the saxophone
- always been a fans of jazzy song so jazzy song with FJ is awesome for me
- Keiko's beginning and ending stanzas
- Wakana and Keiko's "konna, shizukana yoru nagareruboshi, etc."
- the english chorus

E.G.O
- Eri Itou's voice
- just awesome for me
- the guitar :)

vanity
- the piano in beginning
- Wakana
- Keiko's wailing

Nowhere
- actually I prefer Kalafina's version because the yalahiyalahiyalahiyaiya is much more striking for me than the FJ's yamaniyamaniyamaniyaiya

- L.A. (Fiction II)
- Yuriko Kaida
- the chime instrument/effect
- the guitar

For OST : Thanatos, Nuix Walpurgis, Jubilee, Grandpa's violin, and so on

Everlasting Song (live): Kaori's lines give me life :shy: the kajiuran at the beginning is a wonderful addition, and I like listening to the combination of all of their voices, it's beautiful

Hoshikuzu: A fantastic track, Keiko and Kaori are my favorite FJ members so I'm obviously biased :ohoho: The canon is beautiful, Keiko's soft and detailed singing is haunting and the lyrics are sad and pretty.

Vanity: Oh god the lyrics, they are amazing. I like both Emily and Wakana's versions, although Wakana gets extra points for making the song even more heartbreaking than it already was. Keiko's chanting is superb.

Everytime you kissed me: Such beautiful lyrics, and the overall peaceful mood of it puts me at ease :sohappy:

Synchronicity: Keiko is fantastic as always, the chorus is wonderful. FictionPunktion is a BIG win with me, this is probably my favorite song of the Everlasting Songs album.

Cynical World (live): Keiko again :ohoho: I can't help it, she's fantastic. Her deep and dark voice fits this song much more than Emily's.

Dreamscape: Kaori's voice is so beautiful! When I watched her performing this live I was blown away, her vocals are perfect.

Houseki: Even when singing in her higher range, Keiko's voice is so rich that it never loses its dark character, I love it.

Hanamori no Oka: Kaori at her finest here, fantastic lyrics again, and I love how the song switches from being all delicate and slow in the verses to the dramatic chorus. Her long note in "karenai namida no umi karaaaaaaaaa" is impressive.

Yasashii Yoake: The song that made me a Yuki fan a million years ago. The violin arrangement still leaves me breathless.

Kaze no machi e (basically, anything Keiko has ever sung amirite? :ohoho: ): I love how gentle and vulnerable she sounds here in contrast to most of her other songs.

Kimi wa Boku ni Niteiru
- Just love it. My favourite song from entire Gundam Seed/ GSD themes.

voyagers (live vol.5)
- Wakana :)
- Kaori and Keiko's "la sei mastiya" (?)
- really gives me the feeling of being in a voyage.

For me,Yuki Kajiura music is just so warm...and it will lead your mood....like the music she compose for anime,I always get more excited with the music... :sohappy: I still remember the first time I notice Yuki sama music is from Tsubasa Chronicle....every music and song in there just perfect fits with the scene :shy: there is one song in tsubasa reminds me the most is Kaze no machi he.....so sorrowful and I cry while watching it....Not to mention Yuki sama style of music is different with others...she use Kajiurago...YUKI SAMA MUSIC TALKS!!! Even you don't understand the lyrics, you still can get the feel that the song try to convey....I feel that and most of the time is touching when hear Yuki sama music :dote: Thus,I always said I like most of the song that written by Yuki sama actually 90% of song in my mp3 is Yuki sama songs.... :ayashii:

manten O_____O
of course the full one isn't out yet but the preview gave me the same excitement that I got from the ARIA preview so long ago, that I haven't felt since then <3

@Kerahna : Kera, this thread supposed to be the "non-Kalafina" song. Manten is a Kalafina song :ohoho:

Re: Explain why do you love "This Yuki Song" ? (non-Kalafina

Piano by FJ Yuuka

love it for the piano composition and Yuuka's voice

hoshikuzu and velvet no inori
for me...these 2 songs are beautiful...
:touched:

the world - the violin parts are amazing〜 they give the song a touch of darkness...
synchronicity (Live) - the first FJ song I listened to  and Keiko makes me want to stand up and start dancing :ohoho:

Two particular songs stand out for me...

synchronicity - both versions. It shows some AMAZING versatility on her part to write two completely different arrangements of the same song and to have BOTH of them sound amazing, as different as they be. Also, Keiko is so good in the live version.

Nowhere - The studio version has the single best bridge I've ever heard in my life. The live version, starting with the violin solo into the bridge into the guitar solo into the reiteration of the verse is one of the most amazing sequences I've ever heard; it gives me chills every time I hear it b/c I'm hearing a master songwriter at work.

Keiko's synchronicity wasn't arranged by Kajiura, but rather by Koichi Korenaga.

Oh yikes... well, that certainty explains a lot...

Memaze

i find it as a cool song, i think it fit for certain action scenes or battle scene in anime :XD:

Akatsuki no Kuruma

For a while the violin was everything AnK was. I didn't listen much to the words, just the violin. I love the melancholic violin, particularly when it was paired with the... sacrificial death of Orb's ruler. Later i started listening to Yuuka's voice as well, and from thereon... I fell into Yuki's ocean and never surfaced again.

Yakusoku

It's right up there with AnK as my all time favorites. Love the tune, Yuuka's voice. the chants, everything. The only regrets I have for this song is why I didn't hear it earlier... plus IT DOES NOT HAVE A PV!

Houseki both versions

Pessimist song, yet it kinda has that relaxing atsmophere as well. Perfect to listen to at night. Both Keiko and Marina did this song perfectly.

Fields of Hope

My favourite Rie Tanaka song. Beautiful melody, lovely lyrics, and Rie's grasp of the song and the way her voice brings out the song's sadness of the person's departure, and the hope that someday they will meet again on the fields... yes, I cried first time i listened to it.

Nostalgia

I didn't really like the flute, but the different melody of the song, the lyrics, and Yuuka's grasp of the song... instrumental to its successful final product...

Calling - wonderful song, very emotional. one of my favorite kajiura's songs that i listened before kalafina. i even have remixed the full version with the TV-size version lol, because i like the drums in the tv version.

Synchronicity (Keiko) - i like the arrangement in this version. also like keiko's voice. in the live version, Kaori's voice isn't very clear, though.

Kaze no Machi e - very gentle song, and for the same reason as synchronicity.

Mizu no akashi (Wakana) - very calming. Wakana did amazing job in this song. very beautiful.

Hoshikuzu - i like the live version better, thanks to the tomoharu's bass and kajiura's keyboard. Wakana's part is also very beautiful.
