Eurovision 2015

Yeah... They want Russia to be first - song was nice but Sweden is much more better! I like voting, it's really exciting. And everyone votes for his neighbors

Ugh did they announce the winner already? I hope Russia doesn't win simply because the song is boring boring boring. don't care if the song has deep meaning or smth, boring song is boring.

No, its just that 90% of the 8, 10 and 12 points go to either Sweden, Russia or Italy ( so one can pretty much tell who will win already)

When did you ?

Aparrently Russia and Sweden were each first on each semifinal.

I'm glad Georgia-chan went through, cause she was my favorite going in (although I'm not expecting her to win the whole thing - that will probably be Sweden-kun, if he doesn't suck like Albania yesterday).

Sad that Georgia didn't win, most interesting peformance by far.

I don't like Italy's song either, but Europe seems to love stereotyped Italian music, so.

Is it just me who has the sensation to hear some Avicii song while listening to Heroes?

I've just watched Polina, Il Volo and Aminata's lives.

My love for Aminata is still the same. Such a great voice and great song, but her style is too particular to be appreciated by everyone.

I don't intend to offend russians here but Russia's entries are always a lame with their 'we love the world' messages. I want the grannies back.

And last but not least the entry for my country, Italy. Their song was first performed at the Festival of Sanremo, which is the most important musical event of our country. I was supporting another artist, Annalisa, so my thoughts were heavily influenced by my being a fan of her. I didn't like the song and I found them to be boring and too 'old-time' (but I had to admit they were excellent singers) . But, my gasp, their perf tonight game me shivers, I literally trembled during the whole show. They were just so powerful and touching in what they sang they blew me away.

ohhh I'm glad Sweden-kun won the competition and Belgium-kun took the 4th place! ew @ Russia and Italy. I agree, Italy got a great singers but the boys' performance did nothing to me. I can appreciate Italy more than Russia, though. Russia's entry is lame and although Gagarina's voice is good it's nothing special imo. Norway's entry is also boring. Agree with Kohaku_, Aminata's voice and music is unusual (I still don't like her, sorry) but I do enjoy how she sang the verses of her song. Refrain is weird and her voice made it even more difficult for me to enjoy the song. I don't remember anything about Estonia.
My other favorites are in no. 9-12, so I'm quite glad for that too. Ah, Montenegro-san got disqualified? Sad to hear that. I still like the song, though.

I just watched the final (only the songs I liked) and I'm terribly disappointed with Huseynov's performance here :( He did such a great job on semifinal but here he sounded like broken record for most time. He was even more shaky on the beginning, and he failed to hit those high notes on the song's climax. Such a pity since his performance in the semifinal sent chills to my spine. I'll pretend I never watched the final and console myself with his awesome performance in semifinal. if only he can do as well as he did in semifinal maybe he'd place higher. ah well.

Congrats to Sweden!! :w00t: managed to catch the second half of the re-broadcast which just ended (because Eurovision is like 5:30am in the morning here, so they did a rerun at night :XD: )
I'm happy that Belgium and Estonia were up there, I really enjoyed their songs. But I also did love Cyprus, Romania and Georgia's performances. Latvia's was also quite cool. The voting very quickly turned into just a three-way shuffle between Sweden, Russia and Italy (and then just Sweden v Russia), which took away some of the suspense, I guess. I'm glad that Australia at least finished in the top five (barely!), considering it's our first (and probably only) time in Eurovision. From what a lot of newspapers are saying it seemed rather than the ranking, most people were more satisfied that we beat the UK (the friendly rivalry extending probably from cricket lol) :XD:

LOL who is that oldwoman @ Australia ?

OMG that's Lee Lin Chin, news presenter at SBS (the station that broadcasts Eurovision, it's a TV station that's known for being very multicultural). She actually something of a legend here since she's been the SBS newsreader since like...forever. Also known for her wacky/quirky fashion sense (there's a whole FB page dedicated to her outfits: https://www.facebook.com/LeeLinChinsAsymmetricalOutfits) and hilarious sassy tweets. She also does quite a lot of spoof videos on the SBS comedy channel, I think. Anyway, she's a pretty cool old lady :XD: A whole generation or two have grown up with her doing the SBS news because there's literally never been anyone else. :goodjob:

Haha I love the comments at top of that fanpage, I guess its ironic :XD: Seriously a woman her age shouldnt wear clothes like that :XD: I was like :white: when I saw her. Other than that, she indeed looks cool as a person

omg she's an indonesian born! she kinda looked like on of my grandma when she's still alive...

Soo.. I am too lazy to post a new thread so I necrobump this. What do you guys think about the 2016 entries? imo almost all the songs sound the same. boring. typical world-mainstream pop. the songs are either sound like David Guetta's, Rihanna's, Sia's, maroon 5, or some other pop singers I forget. Slovenia's sounds like taylor swift (which mean she sounds like shit) and the singer has similar style with t-swift too. People are excited for Ukraine's but the song is really boring. It doesn't go anywhere and the only interesting part is the screaming in the end - which almost every other songs do too. Long "ooooo", "uuuuuu", "aaaaaaaa", and even howling. Russia's entry's chorus is Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" from Casino Royale lol.

At least most of the singers are easy on the eyes. Will still watch this year's Eurovision for the eyecandies.

Japan should have an entry, Taro Hakase has written some stuff that would fit right in, I instantly thought Eurovision when I heard this clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53B3ZrhfnOA

(Taro Hakase is associated with the Jonetsu Tairiku SPECIAL LIVE SUMMER TIME BONANZA which Kalafina will be performing at this year).
