ninetales-sama I'm sure this was discussed before and probably wouldn't be too difficult to find using the search. :shy:

I will go look, thank you. :shy:

EDIT

I haven't found it at first glance. But the results made me at least 50% more certain that grunty-san is actually a certain TV producer whose blog I used to frequent. :innocent:

Also I can guarantee you that I will be exactly the same towards Shikata if she ever starts performing on TV shows. :ohoho:

kyun~ :plot:

That reminds me...to ask you something on Akiko's thread :XD:

Okay, I cheerfully give up~ :sohappy:

I think I'll call grunty-san "Mr. M" from now on! :XD:

Grunty, I'd like to ask you a question as well.

Are there any Kalafina lives that you consider acceptable? You don't seem to like any of them thus far.

EDIT: Well, I know you've mentioned your suspicions of STUDIO MAGIX. But what about lives that appear to be unedited?

Ah, good to be back.

Let's see... the only TV appearance I remember that I was surprised with was ANIMAX MUSIX FALL 2010. I thought it was a very good performance in all tracks but oblivious.

At the time I thought they could be doing better because of earpieces (since it was the only time they appeared to be using them) but I quickly abandoned that train of thought since I think everyone sounded good on that show so there's no telling if they had post production fix the vocals or not.

And they were using earpieces in this one too so...

PS. You can go through the shows thread if it's still around for my impressions at the time.

I have to admit that I have absolutely no idea how to tell a "Studio Magic"'d performance from a real one. I've been told that all official releases are studio edited, and there's nothing to suggest I shouldn't believe that, but is there something to look for...?

This is true.

As for other performances (like TV appearances) if you can't actually tell from a single performance if it's edited or not the easiest way is to listen to all the performers on the show - if they were all really good/flawless then you shoud raise your eyebrows and assume something fishy happened behind the scenes. :P

Ok, so i just listened to both songs, and i was expecting it to be worse (not saying they weren't bad though). I think they performed Oblivious better than Magia.

i agree how all the magia live lack something. in the studio version, hikaru is just so...forceful :shy: it's amazing! yet, in these live ones, she sounds..lacking? tired? she sounds like she's just singing it passively. magia live just sucks lol i love wakana and all, but she does not sound flattering when she sings "obieru kono te....owaranai yume ...." etc etc.

^ Oh! I definitely agree with that; the studio version is the better version in terms of how she sings it.

I totally agree!!!! Maybe it IS really tiring for HIKARU (or anyone) to sing that low for such an extended period of time... I mean she iS quite prominent throughout the entire song.... She probably has to save her energy to make it all the way to the last chorus!!

@pontianak & kizuato: right? the live & the studio sound like they're two different songs :blood: the band in the studio musix isn't the best thing either...(well, i think so lol) i mean, come one! this is a rock song. this almost sounds acoustic hahahaha

Found this on the Animax web site: http://www.animax.co.jp/special/studiomusix/archive1109

◆Wakana
◆Keiko
◆Hikaru

:nophoto:

◆Wakana
◆Hikaru

:nophoto:

◆Keiko
◆Wakana
◆Hikaru
