Sandpiper

i have entirely forgotten how long
i have been been crying in this place
i want to stay hidden until
the reason for my tears withers away

although the wind calls out to me
i have no answer to give to it
the sky is sorrowful when alone
the things i loved
disappear into the brittleness of the sand

i can't see you anywhere anymore
though the clouds lure me on a journey
until the day i fly away alone
I will lose the sky
i'm a sleeping sandpiper

i only believed in the blue breeze that continued on
to my birthplace
i gaze at your wings,
a guide of happiness to the green island

i lost my way
when i became free
the world is so far and wide that it’s lonely
i will go higher than the seas
bringing down the heavens

there isn’t anything that can hurt you anymore
before long, i will shut away the blue sky
i will leave the sky behind
and begin to walk
although I can’t even see the place i’m returning to

EDIT: i didn't know what a sandpiper was (LOL@me) but here's a picture for reference to those who don't know what it is either LOL

:nophoto:
Oh, so sandpiper is really a sad song.
I felt it's like a sad song when I listened to it without understanding the lyric. Yuki and Kalafina did a great job in interpreting this song.

^ i can't believe you study japanese by yourself. that's sooo amazing :sohappy:

Thanks~but I'm not as good as you! :plot:

I like the In Your Eyes lyrics too :shy:

I think that Kajiura-sensei must have experience with romance, to write such lyrics. Hopefully, with Jr :imdead:

why Jr and not Koichi Mashimo, that might as well explain why she doesnt work for Beetrain any more :plot: I belive her crash is her agent Yasumori Mori :ayashii: they know each other since See-Saw debuted (1992)

not as good? your lyrics were almost the same! i mean, in all honestly, there's no real way to translate something in japanese into english. a lot of things that make sense in japanese don't make sense in english :XD: but i've seen you always get the idea of what the song is about. :cheer: i think yuki.n also does a great job translating. i'm glad we have great translators like you guys on these sites. it's awesome for everyone to be able to understand kajiura's lyrics because everyone needs to. they're beautiful! :nosebleed:

LOL right? it's as though she's been in the love she's written about :ayashii:

I turned around in the windy handrail
someone's face was left behind
After the street corner where I was supposed to catch up
I'm always laughing

Like a thorn that doesn't hurt
inside the ankle bone,
a memory I've never seen
is ringing bits and pieces of bells

neverending song
the sky is always
extending in our heart
Inside the clouds that hide the light
I'm singing the dearness

The voice of the moon, a singing bird in the night
was gathering silver feathers
If I lost sight of you
it's because I was inside the forest that burned out yesterday

If I search for the things I want to search
I sweetly seek for sadness
Is this heart of mine always
returning to pain?

A torch is drawing an arc
faintly in the sea of the night
Shining like the future light
of the people who aren't here anymore

neverending song
after disappearing, it will start again
a song of farewell
With your voice,
lonely, painful,
and soon, kind

i think yuki.n also does a great job translating.

Thank you!! :shy: I also like your translations, they're very "flowing" and connected (if you know what I mean?), which is especially difficult in Japanese... even more if you're translating Kajiura sensei's lyrics!

It's indeed very nice that there are people in here (more than just me!) who can translate song lyrics - they're so beautiful, they just have to be shared! Personally, I see song lyrics as life forms on their own... you can transform them, but you have to take care to keep that "life", that spirit they have, intact :)

aww thank you :shy: go team ninetales+yuki.n+me :cheer: :cheer: haha we'd make an awesome team! :sparkleguy:

omgosh. yes! her lyrics are very..um. poetic? yes, poetic. she uses a lot of poetic grammar & old japanese at times. thats why its very difficult to understand her lyrics, unlike other artists like koda kumi who uses common/short japanese.

I don't know why! I just have this feeling :plot:

Well, she's known Jr that long too...he played for a See-Saw tour after their bassist left, I believe. (He mentioned it on his old site.)

I think you describe it perfectly! :dote:

Its great that we finally found a team of people that can translate songs, (and we could add in ZERO too but he seems to be appearing only when Kalafina releases come out since 1 year now) because we had a huge problem finding such people. If you need more practice, in the lyrics section there are various songs that havent been translated yet :sparkleguy: (except some See-Saw ones which Yuki_n had trnaslated about a year ago but are still somewhere in my gmail :desksweat: because I didnt found time to work on them at first and then forgot :XD: . There are also interviews (far more than the interviews page0 and lines notes.

[EDIT] Lyrics for “Destination Unknown” up! http://canta-per-me.net/lyrics/#D > http://canta-per-me.net/lyrics/destination-unknown/ :D

[EDIT 2] Lyrics for “Kugatsu” up! http://canta-per-me.net/lyrics/kugatsu/ :D

thank you all so much for your work
it makes these songs even better to know what they actually mean :shy:

sandpiper ;_; I have a theory it's the tragic sequel to serenato

I'm sorry for being so absent, but I'm totally swamped... last semester in the university and I'm back acting in theaters since June. But as soon as I get some time, I'll be updating the Kalafina collection again (and I'll be using all you guys posted in this thread... you don't mind right?)

Yes, thanks so much for all the lyrics! They're all so great. I love sandpiper and magnolia, Kotonoha and In Your Eyes are beautiful too. I can't choose. heh (I really need to start taking Japanese :dote: ) Thanks again!

Let me roll in the river of life

Let me flow down the river of life

Sky is high on the river of life
Search the course of the heart

Yes that's what they say, except that W repeats "the river of life" right afterwards like "[let me roll down the darkness of the river of life, the river of life]

and in the guitar bridge they say 4 times "Let me roll in the river of life" :XD:

Just wanna ask, is there anyone know what did the girls sing in Magnolia, after the mirai wo utatte iru yo, before the hokorobite yuku yo? They sing a line kinda "Magnolia, blablablablablaaaa" :XD:

i think it's kajiurago since i can't comprehend any of the words said after "magnolia~" and it's not on the booklet lol

it sounds like "magnolia isori amiya ona" but you can ask in the after eden kajiurago section in this forum :)

Oh yeah, forgot to think about possiblity of that being kajiuran part. Thanks, missjasminn!

just want to say, the last line of destination unknown is "doko made mo nagasarete yuku no" , not "doko made mo nagasusarete yuku no"
sorry for looked like double posting, the previous post is hours before than this one :D

yes, it's "nagasarete yuku no"...I was confused, too, because at that part we can hear Keiko's voice when she sing "sasou de", so we can hear two "s". Thanks for correcting!
