Yuki Kajiura LIVE #19 Kajifes 2023 - 30th Anniversary Live

I thought she lost clarity as she tries to go lower toward the end and the result is just mumbling. It's only for a short few seconds anyway xD but i think that's meant to be like that since I just checked Keiko's live vol8 version it's the same there lol

@wat11 obsession - skip. no. I feel like it's turned into a stripper club with incredibly bad singing. bye.

OMG THIS! i almost said that she sang it like she's a stripper/escort girl but I felt like it was too much, and now I end up saying it anyway lol. I'm so sorry LINO LEIA but your way of singing this song really was not it. I was okay with her in Hachigatsu no Organ, really didn't like her in Akatsuki no Kuruma, and this was somehow even worse :( Kajiura apparently enjoyed it tho (she was smiling at one point, idk if it was automatic or because she really was enjoying LINO LEIA's voice there).

Setting up Point zero and Salva Nos as two consecutive songs are wisely amazing. It's like one is descending to hell and is trying to call out for help.... Kasahara should be featured more as guest vocalist in future live.

Point Zero is essentially a funeral/ Mass hymn, but only to realize that one is going to be wrecked... The line-up FictionJunction adds a unfathomable haunting feeling to the song... Ugh

Salva Nos.... Ineffable.... Everyone seems to be extremely jubilant during the instrument part.

Have you watched the anime ? They bring spirits back to life from the dead so how is it a funeral ? more like a resurrection.

I haven't watched it yet so my comment could be fallible. That was my primary reaction and thought when I heard the song (angels sing someone to their death/ a powerful and perhaps ultimate demon who leads a deceased soul to a perpetual hell). : ) Thank you for your clarification.

-Za warudo: loved Joelle's warmer tone in the verses. Shame she didn't belt in the final section, but I guess she was saving her voice hue.
-Liminality: Kasahara's vibrato was a little too wobbly for my taste in the intro hue, but she got better after. It's nice to finally see and hear her sing live
-In the land...: Great, as always.
-Swordland: Mmm I think it might be the best performance of the song, though it's not a song I'm particularly excited about hue.
-Luminous sword: same as above. I love Remi's face at the end though hue.
-Hoshikuzu: very purty. Yuriko handled her part much better here compared to the vol 15 bootleg we got, but I still think Joelle should've gotten that part hue. Also, Joelle singing Keiko's part towards the end was a nice touch.
-Hanamori no Oka: bretty good. Better than the last performance we got.
-We're gonna groove: oof love the intro. I always love Yoshiaki's solos. Also, that extra final Obawo drumming was kewl.
-Obsession: yeaaaah, this should've been Joelle's, or Kaori's if Kajiura really wanted Joelle on high harmony. It's just so unexciting with Lino. Joelle and Keiko, on the other hand, were great. Loved Keiko's aiyayaya hue. And the arrangement is great. The accordion is kewl as fuark (though in my dream performance it was a sax hue).
-Sen ya ichi ya: Rito was really good here. Ok, she can stay in FJ hue.
-Point zero: oof this was perfect.
-Salva nos: More perfection! I love Kasahara's dancing to the song, even though it's a serious song hue.
-Hana no uta: Bretty good. She got really intense in that final refrain.
-Kai: Purrrfect. I'm quite happy that the only live recording we'll probably ever get has cello.
-Asa ga kuru: again gut gut, but, uuuh, if they wanted it to look like a Aimer x Keiko duet, they really shouldn't have included Joelle awkwardly standing in the back hue. There are barely any upper harmonies anyway.
-My story: no complaints~ I love watching Naomi play.
-Parallel hearts: no complaints. Everyone was bretty good.
-Stone cold: not as energetic as the HS raibu, but still fun.
-Image theme: awww Naomi shy smile in the intro. Cute! Kaori's voice sounded weird when she started singing. Joelle sounds MUCH better than Wakana in the lead part. I also think Rito and Lino Leia added some nice volume to the chorus. In other performances, the chorus was a little weak with just Yuriko and Kaori.
-Sokyuu no fanfare: Just like the HS live, it's much better than the original hue.
-Shame there was no Sajin no kanata he. I actually like the song hue.

Anyways, bretty good live. The strings quartet really does make performances sound more natural. Can't wait for day 2~

It’s quite understandable that they skipped She Has to Overcome her Fear, as it’s a less famous song compared to Swordland and Luminous Sword, but Canta Per Me should hold a lot of meaning…. It’s the very first collaboration of Kajiura and the singers appearing on that day, and IIRC, Yuriko tweeted about her singing Canta Per Me as the first vocal song of the live.. It’s disappointing…:(.

tldr: Yuri Kasahara wins. Period. Nothing to discuss.

i was close to hating liminality & salva nos but she totally changed my mind after watching this live lel

also i love how stone cold made all audience & performers energetic (yuriko mini hearts & flying kiss to keiko lmao)

p/s it has been a while so hi:sohappy:

okay hate might be a bit too much so i'll change to dislike instead 😰 I didn't watch anything prior to TRC so only known the OST from lives.

Also just realized (& after checking the setlist) no zodiacal sign on day 1

@Dchang2510

You definetely need to check the ost version then. On salva nos vocal is Yuriko and Kasahara on Luminality
