Yuki Kajiura Birthday Project 2010 [Happy B-day Yuki-sama!!]

Ooh boy, the idea of a song cover sounds as promising as challenging. :ayashii: the lyrics, though... I don't remember birthday-related songs in Yuki's repertoire (unless they're among Japanese ones), so either we just cover the song or come up with our own lyrics. The question is, what to write and what to base it on? Personally, I don't like the idea of just taking a song and turning it into a string of birthday wishes. That would completely waste the song used. :uh: maybe some kind of lyrical dedication, with some metaphors, epithets and other things thrown in, hm (*looks around in hope to spy some nearby muses*). As to the song itself, such a set of lyrics would require something calm, like Hoshikuzu. Btw, didn't Velveteen Rabbit feature one or two instrumental renditions of the song?
 
Why there is NOT the choice of making ourself the instrumental AND vocal???

We've got a lot of musician at CPM, and you won't make me sing no way!!!!

Who are they ? Also you will need to ask them if they want to participate

Anyway, even if we make our instrumental, we first need to decide on the song.
 
OKay, lets put things to an order:

I) The only surely thing so far is that we want to make a present to Yuki.

So far have been suggested 3 possible presents:

1) Song
2) a page with messages, and art from members. (just like 2008)
3) make pics,flash,mv,messages,songs/covers,folding paper,etc. (like the SH fansite seems to do)

For the song there are these possibilities

a) Cover a song using instrumental
b) Cover a song using karaoke
c) Remove the vocals ourselves
d) Make our own instrumental as palawa suggested
e) arrange and/ or write birthday suitable lyrics

if we decide on the a) as grunty said we have few choices.
if we decide on d) we need to find all the members that can play and ask them if they want / can do it
for e) Ayashii said he will think if he' ll do the arrangement

in any case we will need to find which members want to sing, gather the voice samples and mix them < who will do that ?
 
I'd offer to sing but just the thought of Kajiura-sama hearing my voice makes my stomach turn.

I don't think I could do it, even though I'd love to.

I think if we each did our own covers that would be great, since I am already trying to play Sapphire on the violin, I could try and have that ready by then. :shy: Yuki's birthday is in July, right?
 
i'm in for the singing XD

but it is a really good idea to sing yuki's songs? doesn't it feel like we are challenging her songstress?

Hehe many people have made covers already and by no means are we "challenging" her uta-himes. In fact I think it is a good thing that many people like to sing Yuki's songs because they are so good and so fun to sing :XD:

I think Liana's idea of us doing our own covers might work better. It is hard to coordinate times if we're all going to do a huge cover and someone will have to take care of all the mixing and editing, which might take a lot of work. And since people might be recording anyway, we can all just add our personalized messages using our voices before/after the covers :XD:
 
fan covers are more like communication between fans , that's why i think it may not be a good idea.XD
 
Then I choose drums... and violin but only if you don't find another.

i think mixing covers may be much better.
if everyone sing a song ,there will be too many songs,who have time listen to them.

I know it's super-duper-ultra-monster very hard, but why don't we try?
