Yuki Kajiura and Kalafina girls left Spacecraft (confirmed)

YK did say there is going to be more Kalafina this year. So there is probably an album slated for the late spring or early summer.

I still believe that the Kalafina concept will stay with YK, even though the singers are still with Spacecraft (for now) If there is a separate album from her, I'd like to see the members set up with the songwriting.

I'm really hoping for the same!! (I really want to see the girls!! I'll attend the live of 30th June in Tokyo, so a Kala live in the same period is my dream!!) I need to see them after these four long year after JE!

i don't know why, is it just me, or, Hitoshi Konno fits most Kalafina songs
I agree, strings are an integral part of Kala's style. Even one of the things that differs it from FJ. Not that FJ doesn't have strings, just when they do, it's typically just violin solo. String quartets only appear in a few FJ songs (such as Distance), while string quartets appear in probably at least half of all Kalafina songs

Personally i prefer violin solos over strings.
Strings, at least the way Kajiura is usually arranging them are unpersonal and distant, while the violin solo (anna ni isshou datta no ni, honoh no tobira, shinkai no kodoku, shoot, i talk to the rain, somewhere i belong, fall on you, people are people, and so on) have more carefully composed melody, are more emotional and they oftenly bring me to tears, especially these afformentioned songs.
Combined with the fact that she overused strings in kalafina songs (and soundtracks post knk) , especially from Red Moon and onwards, it has made me to be nostalgic of violin solos, like how in bokumachi trailer they had one violin solo that made everyone interested in the bgm, but in the actual show and soundtrack the solo violin in that specific bgm was replaced with strings and it kinda became soul less

so i really hope she goes back to violin solos. I think the lesser funds due to her being independent will help on that aspect.

Geez, it feels like I've been staying in a deep forest cave.

I heard about it when one of my friends chatted me directly and asked if YK was really leaving. I think it was around Christmas. At that time it still wasn't confirmed, so that's what I said……

Let's see, I'm half surprised because I half expected this.

YK wasn't the only one that introduced me to Kalafina. As a long time Nasuverse fan, I first heard them in KnK movies. The endings describes the LNs really well and felt somehow familiar. Looking back, it was funny that I took some time realizing it's really YK's.

Also, I've listened some of their covers in the beginning of Kalafina clubs. They're interesting as they keep the harmony. Well they did said that harmonies are their selling points in interviews lol, jk.

I think, I can cope with it. Kalafina's voice is enough to keep me around.

@george1234 I also prefer violin solo, for similar reasons. String quartets, while they sound really cool, are heavily overused in Kalafina. Violin solos are always welcome, though, like in Key of the Twilight, the world, and the dreamers from the Tsubasa Chronicles OST

Agreed. Idk why kajiura has to use strings all the time when imo some of her songs worked just fine without strings or with just one string instrument solo and her tendency to add strings to almost everything. Like for example she initially wanted to use strings for obbligato CD ver... thank god she chose to not add strings to the song. It's different case if it's a live arrange, for example fantasia live Budokan 2015. The strings worked there because the song is rearranged to a more band sound while the CD version is all techno/digital beat with e.guitar.

wow another Nasu fans!

:ohnoes:

I.... I hope this isn't the end. I.. I would be devastated. I hope this is all just a rumor from someone wanting to cause strife in people's lives.

"Don't want to continue without Kajiura, while others want to try"... If I had to guess (again, just my speculation), Keiko wants to try it without Kajiura, while Wakana wants to stay with her... Hikaru could go either way

Well, the last time we said it was just a baseless rumor it ended up being true, hue. But it really wouldn't surprise me if it happened , to be honest. Something like this is bound to cause tension with the agency.

Let's just stay calm and wait for further info, shall we? No reason to grieve over sth that hasn't happened yet

Whyyyy... I hope this isn't true either. But yeah the last rumor... *sigh* This year has not been very good so far. Let's wait for the movie.

Damn. While I think the group should have ended a while ago, seeing rumors of a split is still a bit unsettling. Whatever happens, I just hope there isn't any bad blood.

methinks this will also be the truth. no surprise there. Kalafina without Kajiura would be extremely awkward anyway imo.

what an agency though. and what idiocy to put Kajiura's back up. seriously, Kalafina without Kajiura?

(or maybe Kajiura wanted to get into a dispute and end Kalafina with a bang. how's that for a theory? hehaoh)
