What do you expect from a 5th Kalafina album ?

Yes, something like ARIA again please. And obbligato, since it's my favorite off Consolation. It's so powerful, Wakana's awesome in it, and it balances the three perfectly I think. Though I'd like more duets like Keiko + Hikaru, Hikaru + Wakana, Wakana + Keiko, with maybe a short part by the other left out. (though I know they would be in the background too.)

Aside from the obvious tie-ins, I don't have any expectations. I just want something new.

I expect every A-side track, plus dolce and misterioso, will be on there. Tsuioku, lapis and in every nothing probably won't be, because 1: they've only ever once included a non-tie-in B-side on the albums, and 2: just with the tie-ins alone they already have six songs that I think we can safely assume will be on the album, which just briefly looking over their previous albums' tracklists, seems to be about as many tracks repeated from the singles we tend to get.

I also expect that Kimi no Gin no Niwa will be the best track on the album, seeing how I consider that to be among the best songs Kajiura has ever written and all.

It feels so weird to see opinions like this. I do respect your opinion, but I don't like Kimi no Gin no Niwa at all, personally. At least not as a Kalafina song. I would probably like it a lot more if it was sung by someone like Megumi Nakajima. But this kind of cutey fluffy sound sounds totally wrong for Kalafina's voices to me.

Also, although everyone brought up good reasons why Tsuioku and in every nothing won't be on the album, I can't help but feel like one might, this time. in every nothing seems the most likely. I just like thinking of Believe being on the album, and then in every nothing being right after it. Believe in every nothing. Even if it doesn't, though, I think we'll definitely get more songs with this kind of style. It seems to be what Yuki Kajiura is interested in right now.

^ I also really like KNGNN. and If I remember well Kajiura had said in an interview a bit after Seventh Heaven that she planned to expand Kalafina's image to more music types than just gothic which the KnK songs have, and we have many songs after that saying that are into that box, cutesy songs included, like Hikari no Senritsu, moonfesta and this included, disco songs like magnolia, ongaku and signal and others. And if you ask me KGNN is not sweet but bitter-sweet, since it has sad lyrics after some point.

Yeah, I think it's good to branch out into other genres and stuff. I just don't think Kimi no Gin no Niwa sounds good with Kalafina's voices at all. Either the song does not suit the girls, or their voices do not suit the song. I don't mean to consider the lyrics, either, as I'm talking about the overall sound when I say this, not meaning.

Kimi no Gin is hella creepy to me
But I sort of see where you're coming from, @AHH . Imo, the one who has the best voice for "happy" or "bright" is Keiko, but Hikaru and Wakana lead the song. I still love it, though.

I just want good songs, and not the same song over and over. Just that.
However, if those good songs are dark, and have a lot of Hikaru and Keiko, I won't complain!

Agreed. Aside from just really enjoying the song's tune, one of the main reasons why I love it so is that it is absolutely perfect in the context of Rebellion; Cheerful vocals, a really catchy tune... and lyrics that after a certain point basically amount to
"Your entire world is a farce and you'll never realize."
Oh sure, for quite a while after seeing the movie I absolutely hated how it ended, but I have never had anything bad to say about Kimi no Gin no Niwa in the context of that ending.

Now I'm listing what I want from their 5th album.

- more Keiko solo.
- more dance-y/digital tracks like adore, magnolia, oblivious, signal.
- less Wakana
- no more anison pieces like HB and believe.
- for the content of BD/DVD, their album making documentary plz. (something like their recording session, interview about new songs)
- more songs with Nozaki on drums. If possible (I'm sorry for those who're tired seeing me write about this) Nozaki on lives.

And one thing aside of the album, I want them to start using karaoke in live performances for their digital tracks because I just love them and live instruments sometimes can't replace them/do them justice. Especially drums - but maybe that's only because of Sato's drumming (again, sorry) because Nozaki's works wonder in oblivious, progressive, love come down, and Ongaku live.

You know we're probably going to get HB and Believe on the album. Luckily, the new songs usually don't sound like typical jpop.

Yes. Jazz/blues track by Keiko when?

Either this, or a studio live (acoustic plis) would be nice.

Hue, well you're not the only one that prefers him.

I guess I'm similar... I don't like the ending but I still really like that song
Actually, I didn't think anything of it at first (because as soon as the credits hit, I jumped to Google to try to figure out what the heck happened, hehe) and it took me like five listens before I started to appreciate it, but now I like it a lot
The tuba-sounding thing near the beginning kinda makes me laugh...it sounds totally flippant , but somehow that fits

HB and Believe are okay, but I think I'd rather have stuff that's less blatantly "anime OP music" please...

I had heard the song long before watching Rebellion, so I had thought "oh, it's a rare happy YK song!" And then I watched the movie...

you mean the accordion? :P Agreed that it fits, though
EDIT: nvmd. Listened again and heard what you're referring to

I always felt that KNGNN was like Komm Sussr Todd but less depressing

Possibly intentional, due to the obvious similarities between PMMM/Rebellion and Eva/EoE. That and the lyrics of Komm, Susser Tod fit very appropriately with the plot of Madoka as it is.

Still, I do kind of hope for more KNGNN-like songs. I really, really like it.

- Hopefully at least a few songs with one lead singer throughout (like Aria or Lacrimosa).
- Ballad with Hikaru solo
- Upbeat song with Keiko as lead
- Dark/tragic Wakana song
- Less Hikaru-on-verse, Wakana-on-refrain, Keiko-possibly-on-bridge layout (nothing wrong with it, per se, it's just overused).
- More varied instruments. Perhaps a saxophone, or something eastern?
- Never, ever process/digitize the girls' voices Signal-style (though I love the song otherwise)
- On the bluray/DVD: Live performances

Is there any chance they'll skip over Heavenly Blue because it was already on The Best Blue? :XD:I mean, I don't think the management would be that mean, but...

Yes. Jazzy tunes with saxophone and Keiko as lead vocal. Want. Kajiura, make that song now :XD:
