You're almost 20 years late. lol.

Yes, I think the general consensus now is it's Kajiura. Though I remember there was also speculah on the opening solo being Maaya Sakamoto. (Or maybe it was just me...)

We also have Kajiura singing one of the knk7 themes in an early trailer. (On top of the knk3 demos that ufotable uses in their Shiki birthday streams. https://forum.canta-per-me.net/threads/13339/ )

knk3 m01 if you never got those birthday stream rips

knk7 m41+42

Fingers crossed for 10 CD box with all the music (including unused tracks, instrumentals and YK demos)... lol, one can dream.

Also just in case people somehow missed this documentary, around 22:20 Kajiura's demo of KOTONOHOKA WARAKAI starts.

I'm sure many of us would gladly buy Kajiura's versions of her songs...

PS. I think bili broke something cause you can't even link to precise times of videos from right click... Hopefully it gets fixed before live bootlegs...

Are these Yuki Kajiura vocals? Uhhmmm. They sound like Yuki Kajiura’s singing voice. I am sure it is her unless there is a new vocalist that sounds like her? And judging that this song is Kara no Kyoukai era, I AM SURE it is FION’s voice.

You mean like a re-recording of the song??? 😮🤔 Well, I gotta say that the voice doesn't flow like Wakana (or Keiko's) originally released Kalafina recording - different singer in my opinion - more unstable, breathy, and I daresay emotional in the delivery.

The lead solo section does sounds a bit like Kajiura's falsetto. I hear the voice as not been as legato as Wakana's or Keiko's... The sign of a less-trained voice.

Maybe it could be her scratch/demo vocals from when she first wrote the song...? But that would be wild.

Someone commented on it"Omg. This is YUKI KAJIURA VOCALS !!???? I know this Fion voice" - @Sukiruyo

What's going on behind the scenes. Maybe we'll get more info in the future.

Speaking of which I would be curious to hear a Yuuka take on this song - just a thought - for that emotional delivery.

What is so wild about it to you? This promo has been out there since 2007/2008. Don't know what you want to happen with it. What kind of information.

I listed demos of Kajiura's that are out there thanks to ufotable (including almost the entirety of knk3). Plus, KOTONOHOKA YAWARAKAI.

Plus we have Kajiura/Fion on many a recordings. Including "saints" from MADLAX. Distinct background vocals on FJY's "Yorokobi".

... lol. Because it's not. It's a trailer from 2007 or 2008.
I just listed a few more trailers with vocals & instrumentations that aren't final. That kind of thing isn't shocking in trailers.

What was more shocking was ufotable actually using Kajiura's demos in their Shiki streams in 2020s, when they could've been using final versions...

Oh thanks for further substantiating with the examples. I was unaware of the trend so I thought it was something special.

Yeah, that's her indeed. I love the instrumental music too.

Yeah, so Kajiura composes and arranges the entire demo with full vocals with lyrics and instrumentation herself and then the FBM guys translate it to their live instruments and then add flourishes and their own compositional interpretations and expressions.

It's good to see that process and extrapolate it to every song she's ever written for FJ, Kalafina, and even the guest artists. I wonder if she does that with the guest singers though or just gives them the notes.

Joelle's raw studio on "Parade" was identical to her KajiFes (and every other) performance of it. CONSISTENCY for days! Kaori was also powerful and commanding, with Keiko and Yuriko filling in the bits. I gotta say (no shade intended) millet wasn't on their level vocally, just from the studio recording. I've heard a bit of Hanae and Aira Yuki too from a rehearsal video I saw recently. I am reminded again that the quality of Kajiura's singers is just top level.

Yea, the "6000 songs parade" documentary is pretty great. Not that the few full others that we got weren't (7rules, "Music of SAO", the ancient MBS one)... Like I said at some other time, I really would love for YK to release a "YK ARCHIVES" bluray for some anniversary, compiling whatever documentaries & interviews they could salvage. Plus, random live videos that they have. Reach out to TV stations while they still can help.

Going back to this particular discussion though, I would also recommend looking at the knk3 demos that we got during ufotable's livestreams as a probable insight into what Kajiura submits to the studio before recording sessions.
