Light Behind the Clouds-Kajiura (this song is making me tear up. Maybe because I'm writing a sad story, or this part is sad. Or because it will have been 2 years my friend will have been gone on Thurs.)

How to Train Your Dragon 2 The Deluxe Edition

I... don't know what's happened here? Several tracks (1.17, 1.21) end hard with no silence but the following tracks start normally and you hear a pop... Did they rush this release? or is it just the European printing...?
(And then there's 2.03 where you can hear some noises from the recording at the end. I need to check the FYC rip if it's the same.)

As far as sound goes, it's not that different from the initial OST (some parts feel less compressed, others - more??; I did feel there's some mixing and/or EQ differences) but I think I'm actually not that big of a fan of how the OST or DE sounds. The active/action parts sound obnoxiously packed and metallic to me. (From reading JWFan people seem to be happy with this release v( '')v so maybe I fucked up something on my end...)

Did not bother listening to the demos yet.

Madlax OST (Yuki Kajiura)

Yep, still my second favorite of the soundtracks (after Madoka). It succeeds melodically, emotionally, atmospherically, and more. I love most the character themes (particularly Limelda’s), and the vocal tracks are stellar. It’s hard to pick favorites, because there’s only four songs out of 48 that I don’t care for to some extent. (Those are Cradle, No Man’s Land, Calm Violence, and Elenore). Which is pretty impressive.

Also I watched the show. It had its problems, but, similar to Noir, I quite enjoyed it.

MADLAX, being the first Kajiura TV show that I watched weekly as it aired, will forever be special to me.
I remember being so into it after episode4's ending hook. I loved it all sans the ?last 3 episodes - which is not even necessarily the anime's fault but, after all the drama and some perfectly executed cliffhangers, my ass literally forgot the story was about magic from the very start and my heart/mind wasn't open to how simple some of the twists ended up being.

I haven't seen it in some ?14 years though and while I want to rewatch it I'm kinda afraid I would hate it now, lol.
