Okay! Since I finally got Stone Cold in today, I shall proceed to listen and give my impressions.
Stone Cold
Love the opening
Kaori sounds great. I can hear Koichi-san quite clearly
Love those 'trilly' FX every now and then...
And the chorus, the only part I recognize
Funny, it sounds more like an older Toki no Mukou-esque FJ song than the lines do.
And now that I think about it, the lines are Kala-esque...a mixture, hmm?
Yup, Kala lines and an FJ chorus. Plus, it works pretty well, aside from the complete lack of transition between lines and chorus...
Okay, I think the solo's coming soon...wait for it.
Oh, more E.G.O. style of a solo here...finally I can make out the notes. Hmm, not bad. Like the ending the best
Reminds me so much of E.G.O. with the singing and the solo continuing underneath...
What's with the lack of transition?
Well, all in all, I like the lines, I like the chorus, I like Kaori, I like most of the solo, but I don't know about the finished product. It seems choppy in some places.
But I'm sure it'll grow on me
Hitorigoto
Ah, the opening sound from Where Every Life Is Beautiful
Wow, this is so much like Utsukushisa Jazzy Version that it's creepy
Reminds me of Velvet no Inori too, with the constant chord progression...
Hmm, this is rather a duet, isn't it? Haven't been many of those since Kimi Ga and the middle of Oblivious.
I think Yuriko would've been nice in here, given the fact that Kaori just got a near-complete solo song in Stone Cold...but she still sounds nice anyway.
Waiting for more Ke-chan parts
And here's the saxophone...like something out of Jake and the Fatman
Of course, being biased, I'd prefer an Inca Rose-esque Koichi-san solo, but that's just me
Actually reminds me more of Velvet no Inori than of Utsukushisa. I think the Utsukushisa part is just the opening with the quiet electric piano.
Hey, Ke-chan's back!
And...the FX from Where Every Life Is Beautiful again
Well, this is of course more soothing than Stone Cold, and a little less choppy, but it...sort of glides along without much emotion. Again, it'll probably grow on me.

Now that I'm listening to them without vocals, the lines remind me of Progressive. 'Uta o utatteta no' popped into my head at the end of one of them
I like this a tad better than the on-vocal one...probably because the lack of transition doesn't stand out as much. And because I can hear Koichi-san all the time
Hmm, I think my problem with the solo is that the first part is basically noise because it's mixed a little low. (Too much Nishikawa style for me
) And the second part isn't very fast. It's very much like E.G.O. but without the breakneck feel.
Not that I don't like it...but I like the solos of Progressive, Lirica, etc. slightly better.
Yes, I think all in all I like the off-vocal better.
And plus there's an extra solo-thingy near the end that you can't hear under the vocals, with Koichi-san's trademark SUPER-EMOTIONAL-PLAYING

"Aishiteru, aishite ne, aisarete good night
setsunasa mo kanashimi mo sabishisa mo konya
goodbye..."
^ Not intended as criticism. I love Velvet no Inori and having a song similar to it is awesome
I like the electric piano sound! And those sliding notes from Koichi-san are cool, a little Hawaiian-sounding in some ways.
Love the rhythmic guitar on the left channel now. You don't realize how much goes into these songs till you hear the off-vocal
"Aitai na, aeru yo ne, awasete ne kitto
yasashisa ni tsutsumarete
hohoemi ukabu no..."
Jake and the Fatman
The sax actually sounds a little...filtered, maybe? Slightly muffled to make it more gentle. A little different from the saxes I've heard
And...the FX from Where Every Life Is Beautiful again
I like the songs, the instrumentals a little better than the on-vocals right now, but that could always change.
Give me a week and I'll be dancing around to the on-vocal Stone Cold
