And according to the prediction/temporary rank for today, they're still keeping the 10th spot and might preserve a place on Top 15 of the weekly chart :TdT:

As I expected I really like the off vocal kiseki. I don't think this song works with Yuuka's vocals.

Congrats to YK/FJ :cheer:
I usually don't care about their position :ohoho: (because i'll love them no matter what :dote: ) but to be in top 10 is :dote:

^ +4!! :XD:

Indeed, in such a crowded world/industry, a Top 10 is really... wow!! Full 'grats to 'em~~ :cheer:

Still doesn't mean I'll buy it though... :psst: *is bricked by FJ fans galaxy-wide...*

Okay! Since I finally got Stone Cold in today, I shall proceed to listen and give my impressions. :sohappy:

Stone Cold

Love the opening :sohappy:
Kaori sounds great. I can hear Koichi-san quite clearly :dote:
Love those 'trilly' FX every now and then...
And the chorus, the only part I recognize :ohoho: Funny, it sounds more like an older Toki no Mukou-esque FJ song than the lines do.
And now that I think about it, the lines are Kala-esque...a mixture, hmm? :ayashii:
Yup, Kala lines and an FJ chorus. Plus, it works pretty well, aside from the complete lack of transition between lines and chorus...
Okay, I think the solo's coming soon...wait for it.
Oh, more E.G.O. style of a solo here...finally I can make out the notes. Hmm, not bad. Like the ending the best :cheer:
Reminds me so much of E.G.O. with the singing and the solo continuing underneath...
What's with the lack of transition? :confu:
Well, all in all, I like the lines, I like the chorus, I like Kaori, I like most of the solo, but I don't know about the finished product. It seems choppy in some places.
But I'm sure it'll grow on me :ayashii:

Hitorigoto

Ah, the opening sound from Where Every Life Is Beautiful :plot:
Wow, this is so much like Utsukushisa Jazzy Version that it's creepy :omg:
Reminds me of Velvet no Inori too, with the constant chord progression...
Hmm, this is rather a duet, isn't it? Haven't been many of those since Kimi Ga and the middle of Oblivious.
I think Yuriko would've been nice in here, given the fact that Kaori just got a near-complete solo song in Stone Cold...but she still sounds nice anyway.
Waiting for more Ke-chan parts :uh..:
And here's the saxophone...like something out of Jake and the Fatman :dote:
Of course, being biased, I'd prefer an Inca Rose-esque Koichi-san solo, but that's just me :ohoho:
Actually reminds me more of Velvet no Inori than of Utsukushisa. I think the Utsukushisa part is just the opening with the quiet electric piano.
Hey, Ke-chan's back! :sohappy:
And...the FX from Where Every Life Is Beautiful again :shy:
Well, this is of course more soothing than Stone Cold, and a little less choppy, but it...sort of glides along without much emotion. Again, it'll probably grow on me. :ayashii:

Now that I'm listening to them without vocals, the lines remind me of Progressive. 'Uta o utatteta no' popped into my head at the end of one of them :desksweat:
I like this a tad better than the on-vocal one...probably because the lack of transition doesn't stand out as much. And because I can hear Koichi-san all the time :cheer:
Hmm, I think my problem with the solo is that the first part is basically noise because it's mixed a little low. (Too much Nishikawa style for me  ) And the second part isn't very fast. It's very much like E.G.O. but without the breakneck feel.
Not that I don't like it...but I like the solos of Progressive, Lirica, etc. slightly better.
Yes, I think all in all I like the off-vocal better. And plus there's an extra solo-thingy near the end that you can't hear under the vocals, with Koichi-san's trademark SUPER-EMOTIONAL-PLAYING :sohappy:

HG Inst.

"Aishiteru, aishite ne, aisarete good night
setsunasa mo kanashimi mo sabishisa mo konya
goodbye..."
^ Not intended as criticism. I love Velvet no Inori and having a song similar to it is awesome :dote:
I like the electric piano sound! And those sliding notes from Koichi-san are cool, a little Hawaiian-sounding in some ways.
Love the rhythmic guitar on the left channel now. You don't realize how much goes into these songs till you hear the off-vocal :shy:
"Aitai na, aeru yo ne, awasete ne kitto
yasashisa ni tsutsumarete
hohoemi ukabu no..."
Jake and the Fatman :XD:
The sax actually sounds a little...filtered, maybe? Slightly muffled to make it more gentle. A little different from the saxes I've heard :ayashii:
And...the FX from Where Every Life Is Beautiful again :XD:

I like the songs, the instrumentals a little better than the on-vocals right now, but that could always change.

Give me a week and I'll be dancing around to the on-vocal Stone Cold :ohoho:

I'm glad that they did pretty well. :D

Especially Yuuka! I think this is her highest ranked single, right? I know that shizuku was pretty low... :uh..:

^Yup. Tsukishirube peaked only at number 36 and shizuku number 89.
congrats to FJ! well, too bad that FJ is still less popular than Kalafina :uh..:

^ that's unavoidable since they are present much, less they release 1 single per year and do 1-2 concerts per year, while Kalafina release 3-4 singles per year and do 25 concerts (both collab and one-man).

Yeahhh....!!! I'm back..!!! After finishing 6 hours long exam..(but I finished just in 4 hours...:tea:..don't have to eat lunch in the exam room..huhhh..) Will reward myself with this single...>___<... Thanks KP-X for the sharing.

I start from Stone Cold instrumental version...Even I love the full song, the instrumental gave me full load of KoichiSan guitar.... so energetic!! lol...

Hitorigoto is so colder than Stone Cold..lol. The start of the song sounds...so sudden.., but when I listened to the whole song, and listened the song from the start again, I found that it isn't weird anymore.. I think it's difficult to explain..., but almost every part of the song starts in the similar way... so that sudden-start goes well with the whole song.

I really love the way that Kaori sang in the second part...it's so sweet...>____<. But I think she has a problem with taking breath (around 4.22...) I think that the main part is a bit too low for Kaori. (The same thing also appears in her part in Toki no.) I agree that Yuriko is more suitable for the chorus than Wakana.

I think I understand maxwell9's point...the saxophone really reminds sth. like that.., but as I'm not a jazz/saxophone fan...I can't evaluate something that I don't like..:XD:...(just able to say that it's boring for me or not my style...Orz) But the use of Saxophone here is ok for me. I like the whole song.., but I want more repetition of the second line that Kaori sang...>___<.

The structure of this song is something new... I must say that Stone Cold and Hitorigoto are somethings really fresh for FictionJunction project...worth for paying...

BTW... I've a question..I intended to wait until Kalafina 3rd album coming out and order Stone Cold at that time, but now there are only 9 copies left in CD Japan..=__=.. Will they refill their stock?? (If they won't, I'll order Stone Cold ASAP...even it means I must walk to the post office just for only one CD this time...)

^ I think they will, but in case they don't, you can try look for it at other shop :tea:
