@george Yeah, I'm part Greek. I'm a very white-washed Greek though because I'm technically 3/4 French Canadian and 1/4 Greek. My maternal grandfather is Greek.

Oh that,s good to know. Don't worry as long as some of the greek recipes and customs is passed to you (and you know some words too) its fine no matter how match white-washed you are. I have cousins in France that are 1/2 Greek 1/4 Austrian and 1/4 French but they don't know a single greek word/custom because my uncle was lazy to teach them :uh..: :uh..:

Well, at least I can understand some Greek. I used to speak it pretty well when I was a little kid but haven't practiced and have forgotten almost all of it. I vow to never forget how to cook though :XD:

it's a badly lit photo but it's also just a study. I don't intend to finish it. I'm just going to leave it and work on real stuff that I care about XD
I don't have any "serious" work in this sketchbook.

Put some oil in my hair today because I have a ton of homework and I'm not going out for the rest of the day. Apparently you're supposed to do it once a month but I really don't do it that often.
I have to tie my hair back and leave it in a ponytail so that it doesn't feel greasy on my skin. I HATE the feeling of greasy hair on my skin.
It's a really simple process though. Does your hair ever feel dry and damaged?
SOLUTION: depending on your hair's length, put anywhere from a teaspoon to three tablespoons of oil into the palms of your hands (not all at once) and rub your hands together. Spread it evenly through your hair, tie it back and use a headband to keep it out of your face if necessary. Leave it in for 12 to 24 hours, wash thoroughly, condition hair. Voila!

In case you have sensitive skin, here's a list of oils that are less likely to clog pores:
Almond Oil
Avocado Oil
Emu Oil
Jojoba
Olive Oil
Peanut Oil
Safflower Oil
Sesame Oil
Sunflower Oil
Tea Tree Oil
COLD PRESSED Aloe Vera

I use olive oil

Too bad I dont have long hair :XD:

During the 12-24 hours you should be careful to not pass closely to fire, otherwise your head will become a candle :plot:

I had a guinea pig named Yuki. She wasn't named after YK though. I had just wanted to name her "snow" because she was all white with beautiful red eyes. Actually, I was torn between "Yuki" and "Ruby" but my other guinea pig was like a dark umber colour so his name was Shady. I thought that Yuki went well with Shady because they were kind of opposite names for their opposite colours. Yuki stuck. Maybe I'll find some photos and upload them eventually.

My life

Something interesting happened today!

I risked my life for pyjama bottoms. I got them. I won. Victory. :hero:
I'm wearing them right now. They're comfortable.

I got them in at work last weekend but they weren't out on the floor yet. I decided to wait it out and buy them next time I worked. The only problem was that they were sold out of my size when I got there for my next shift :omg:
They couldn't bring any others out from the back store because there were pallets upon pallet and racks upon racks in the way.
I decided to come back and see during my next shift.
The piles were worse.
I decided that I was not going to allow them to sell the last pair in my size. I couldn't just have them reserve it. The store doesn't work that way. First come, first served. Employees are the lowest priority. I took it upon myself to retrieve the pants.
There was nowhere to move the pallets, racks and baskets in the way.
I had to climb.
I shuffled, I climbed, I pushed, I slid through awkward spaces that made me thankful for being small-ish. I found the rack with the pants.
I found them.
Now burdened with the pants, I had to make my way back without dying.
I had told the girl in the claims department to call an ambulance if I took longer than twenty minutes. She had chuckled.
I'd assured her that I was serious.
Time was running out. I had to make it back before there was a scene and before management found out that I'd put my safety at risk.
I saw her. I waved. She went back to work.
I made my way out of the Merchandise Amazon and into the store.
I held the pants tightly. I'd seen customers yank merch from other customers.
In a department store, everything is free game.
I rushed to the cash register swiftly but casually so as to not draw attention to myself.
I came. I paid. I conquered.

They're not that nice but they're hella warm and comfy and soft. :dote:

Just went away for four days. I went up north to my boyfriend's family's cottage.
I ate and ate and ate until I was in a food coma. I basically just fell asleep right after.
It was nice. There was a hot tub. I played pool.
We explored the forest with my boyfriend's dog.
I ate the best turkey ever.
We brined it for a whole day and then smoked it for four hours.
I only ever have baked turkey on Thanksgiving so it was really different for me. It was also REALLY juicy and delicious. Not dry at all.
We ended up having Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday even though actual Thanksgiving was yesterday (Monday)
It turned out pretty well though because my friend Brandi has what we call 'Brandsgiving." It's a bit of a potluck with Turkey, soup, mashed potato, sweet potato, vegetables, pumpkin pie, etc. Very Thanksgiving-y and most of the people who go are students and people who have just moved far away from their families and can't be with them on Thanksgiving. It's a sort of "orphan Thanksgiving" if you will call it that.
It was great. Lots of food. Lots of drink.
Now I have class.
~

 I dropped my Maya class.
Doctor's orders.
It was stressing me to the point of getting psoriasis.

So now I'm registered for an extra course in winter.
Classical film era documentary studies or something like that.
I'll also probably be able to do an independent study this summer.
I was thinking of maybe doing something like anatomical study or illustrative approaches. Something along those lines.
Exciting.
I meed to write up a proposal and what I guess would be a sort of syllabus.
Exciting.
You are excited by this.
It is interesting.
ON THE DOWN SIDE
 It's going to cost me an extra 600$ because I dropped that course.
At least I'll be done on time :w00t:

ProTip: When you're in financial turmoil, spoil yourself with a Rosemary&Co pure sable brush.

Today was fun.
I slept over at my boyfriend's yesterday and this morning we had cone honey and greek yoghurt for breakfast.
I'm making him a scarf. I have this 3m long scarf that my friend Mari's mom made especially for me. He's been looking for a scarf that long for a while because he thinks mine is super awesome because it hangs really low and flutters in the wind and stuff BUT HE CAN'T FIND ONE.
I've taken it upon myself to make him one. Right now I've gotten it to be about the length of a regular scarf but it needs to be way longer than it is right now. This is actually the first time that I've managed to knit something that doesn't have a million holes in it. I'm so proud! :shy:
I showed him my progress yesterday and he was so surprised! He said that he loves it and that it's perfect and that he's really pleased with it :shy: :shy: :shy: :shy: :shy:

I watched an Orson Welles film in my Film Aesthetics class today. (It's mandatory for all animation students) and it had such a long take at the beginning of the film! It went on for like three minutes! Insanity! Okay, I've seen longer takes but it's still impressive, ESPECIALLY because it's a fairly old movie! It was Touch of Evil. Pretty interesting. Murder, Mexican Mafia, cad cops, etc. Really fun!

I've been re-watching the first Avatar series. It had been s long since I'd seen it that I'd completely forgotten everything about it. It's almost like I'm watching it for the first time.

I had to go to the UPS office to pick up my parcel today. They tried to deliver a couple of books that I'd ordered from Amazon but sent it to their store before even a second delivery attempt! It took me two hours to get my parcel from them. It just so happened that the ONE day they tried to deliver my parcel, I wasn't home. I'm usually home at that time on that day but I had to run some errands on that day. ANYWAY I got there a bit after the office had closed but it was the last day that they were supposed to hold my parcel for so I absolutely had to get it back! There was a guy at the desk and the door was locked. I stood outside and waited for a good twelve minutes before he let me in and gave me my parcel. That was really nice of him! I didn't actually expect him to open up and let me in and stuff. XD
SO TODAY I LEARNED that if you stand outside in the cold for long enough, the guy at the desk will think you're insane and give you your Amazon order.

THE END (and stuff)

:XD:
