My orchestra I'm in can't play Yuki's songs because...well most of the second violins are new, so yeah =/

If I were, I'd use that to make music, not that weirdo of a software called FrutyLoops.

What's the problem with Fruity Loops?

FL is the most well organized and intuitive composing program there is, IMO.
Now, try CUBASE or Sibelius ...you won't be able to do anything..(well..much) without a tutorial or manual. They're just...soooo beyond advanced! :XD:

I personally use FL and i'm damn proud of it! ^^

I used to work with Cubase and Finale :)
As I'm a real musician...

but I like FL better for a lot of reasons ;)

I got used to FL already, but there are many "instruments" which drive me mad. There are too much elcetronics and too few acoustic ones (or at least ones doing a DECENT impression of being acoustic). Much is supposed to be done through effect generators, which I don't often use... Apart from that, well, the software IS good :ayashii:
Anyway, I can only play THAT without a real keyboard (unless trying to lay out a puzzle of notes in the piano roll). Wish me luck! :XD:

Well you know, I use FL to quickly compose the notes I want.

After that, you aren't forced to use the instruments packed with the software! ^^
That's why it's fantastic, you can use VSTi's (Virtual instruments) on the tracks you want.

I, for example, have a sample of a full orchestra, and a good one for piano too... I just have to assign it to a track, and voila!

as for me....i combined another music software "Reason" with "Cakewalk Sonar" and "Finale"...and it turned out quite well in doing tracks....

as for Fruity Loops...my friend is using it but i think i prefer Reason....
^_^

hmm :ayashii: does Reason support direct PC keyboard input?
(that is still desicive for me, although I might have to ditch that approach soon - being limited to 2,5 octaves keeps annoying me). :uh..:

Ehehe... Concerning the topic name, I'm as blisFULLY dumb about dealing with music scores as I was a year ago. ^^;;;;;;;; gomen ne, minna-san

there are a few ways to use "Reason"...as for me....i do it in 2 different ways....its either i record part by part with my Work Station....all the piano comping....strings....guitar....synthesizer lead.....bass....drums parts.....and then transfer to Reason to "mix" it....because "Reason" does have an artificial Mixer in there...."Reason" itself is the combination of many different devices...for example it has drum machines...it has mixer....it has groove creator...samples creator(for those who like DJ stuff)...etc....its very very complicated but once u master it making music will be quite easy for u...because WHATEVER effects or music u can ever think about...u can do it with "Reason"....

another way is directly connect the MIDI keyboard to my pc...then usual "play and record" method.....

there is another way but i seldom use that...which is use my pc keyboard and mouse to "key in" note by note in every instruments...that consumes so much time but it works too....so it depends.....

after i've done the MIXING in "Reason"....i'll export out and import to Cakewalk Sonar....here i can "twist" my instruments sound....changing and make it more realistic....adding echoes here and there....cutting off here and there.....

and finally import to Finale to make scores for my musicians to read...

but i'm still trying to combine Sybelius and Nuendo.....because there are sound samples that i really like in Sybelius....and there is a drums pattern which i adore in Nuendo...but they work independently....sigh....that's why i'm thinking of extracting sound samples and drum patterns from both Sybelius and Nuendo and combine them into "Reason"...thats just an idea....still thinking......
^_^
