Good Incubators NEVER leave a trail behind for anyone to pick up...

meaning if it was you, you'd have eaten the site afterwards? :psst: :omg: :ohoho:

Maybe? Incubator SOPs/Modi Operandi are classified above "Top Secret" anyway. :tea:

I'll have to get Charlotte to eat you if I'd told you. :psst:

Oriko chapter 7 translated

What can I say? I really wish they did more than two volumes (it bugs me that Kazumi Magica seems to aim for more than two volumes, and it doesn't even feature the main cast so far). But tstill Urobuchi did a fine enough job here - even though I was prepared for the worst (this being Urobuchi and the setting being one of the past timelines, now confirmed to be one NOT shown in the anime), I was still whammed by how the end turned out. :uh..: :orz:
The timeline evokes mixed feelings overall.
On one hand, most of the main cast survive and thus might have good odds of defeating Walpurgis Night. Yuma is a walking "Get a hold of yourself" factor, helping Kyouko and Mami get a grip of things after the witch revelation (Mami generally takes it better compared to TL3... I guess watching the terrible fate befall your friend who you urged into contracting or your opponent who nearly killed you kinda makes a difference). I really wish Yuma was hanging around during Sayaka's arc in the anime. Sayaka, by the way, fights her way out of the barrier, while others run or cower in fear. Damn, I'm proud of that girl. :TdT: Oh, and Kyuubey is killed, though temporarily. :psst:
On the other hand... Madoka, who spent the timeline in blissful ignorance, gets exposed to the system in a gruesome way and dies a death that makes me want to bash my head against the wall. Many of her classmates and Kazuko-sensei fall prey to the witch Oriko released, Hitomi nearly snaps from watching it all... Oh, and Oriko and Kirika both die, too. Yes, I do sympathize with them both, despite them being "villains". Oriko did a lot of terrible things trying to save this world... and she actually saved it in a way. But even in afterlife, she won't be able to get over the things she did, as she herself admits in the last scene. Good that at least Kirika will share that burden with her - coming from Urobuchi, that's an arguably happy ending in itself. :ayashii:

In short, it was a nice and touching ride. I hope Shaft will consider making it into an OVA someday, with extended script and moar of Yuki's music, of course. :plz:
btw, how about Maaya Sakamoto for Oriko's voice? :ayashii:

In other news, BD Vol 3 is out!
the booklet including some interviews and the usual 4coma from Ume-zenzei :dote: The 4coma is translated, hopefully we'll see the translation for the interviews as well.

and here's the info on Sunny Day Life. Despite being formally supervised by Gen Urobuchi, it's apparently more of [long-awaited? :psst: ] fanservice than canon. They brought over the sciprtwriter and the composer from Hidamari Sketch, too. :ohoho:
Now, who actually believed such a nonchalant title was literal and wouldn't end in a traditional Urubochi trap? :ayashii: Yep, minna-san, we've been trolled again. :V: :XD:
I wonder what they have up their sleeve for BD Vol 5. :plot:

Oooh, I just finished reading Oriko too. That ending was just...
AUGH Not that it could have ended happily considering that Homura would be resetting time again but that was particularly cruel. :orz: I'm going to amuse myself speculating what happens to Oriko, Kirika and Yuma in other timelines. :ayashii:

As for Sunny Day Life...why the hell is Sayaka doing that to Hitomi's pantsu? :omg:

I'm going to amuse myself speculating what happens to...

So am I. :V: :ayashii:

As for Sunny Day Life...why the hell is Sayaka doing that to Hitomi's pantsu?

Because it's purposeful fanservice. Expect flanderization of every character trait, no matter how faint/obscure/non-existent it was before. :ohoho:
At least until we get the full translation, I opt to treat this drama as an AU for the time being. :tea: :ayashii: :plot:

And for now, a couple of videos.

I miss your old sig! :comeback: It was so nice to look at your flicking tail and imagine it on my plate :dote: :XD:

:XD: :XD: :XD: :XD: :XD:

I'm glad you liked it! Well....maybe I can put it back sometime.

But for now, I'm giving our little heroine a little airtime first. I'm actually thinking of a Kyouko-theme (or Kyouko x Sayaka theme) next. But who knows? Maybe if someone convinces me enough, I would put our fluffy little Incubator back on.

I was just going to, until...

You white tail-flicking troll... you KNOW I'd prefer KyouSaya over Kyuubey anytime. :shy: :XD:

all courtesy goes to 4chan threads and folks at Puella Wiki who bother to archive them. :sparkleguy: :XD:

here's more from there:
BD3 Bonus CD - Magical Girl Tea Party. Sounds like a seiyuu picnic. :XD: It's unknown whether Yuki's involved here, but the music is nice (especially the track starting at 9.49) :dote:
Drama CD 1 - Memories of you. One word: SUBS. :stars:

Also, one fansub group has apparently started translating BD episodes together with the audio commentary. Did I mention I like audio commentaries? :sohappy:

and an exerpt from an interview for dessert:

Interesting fact, Gen based his characterization of Madoka on Yuuno. July NewType interview.
--------
Q – How did you come up with the mahou shoujo characters?

A – Ume Aoki sensei joined us as the original character design. It was our very first issue to find out how to incorporate Aoki sensei's world view and characters. To be honest, Madoka, the protagonist, is a pretty unusual character for my writing style. In short, I wrote the screenplay as if Yunocchi (from Hidamari Sketch) is to be put as the protagonist. I even had the preparation that seiyuu Asumi (Kana) san would play her. (lol)

Q – Wow....

A – Really, I stood firm on that approach. And every time I got Yunocchi to cry I got hated by the Hidamar-er (Hidamari fans) more (lol). But this was to incorporate a foreign idea, a foreign character that did not exist inside myself. I imagined all the other characters by starting from “Madoka = Yuno”. As from the very beginning I had the idea of “Let's make a story where Homura got saved by Madoka”, so I paired Homura up with Madoka and put them opposite to each other. If Madoka is an Aoki character, then Homura will be an Urobuchi character.

But while they recycled some OST tracks in Sunny Day Life, the majority of its music seems to be written by the Hidamari Sketch composer. That's why I'm being cautious.
But if it IS Yuki, that's gotta be her most nonchalant work since Velveteen Rabbit. :dote:

wow, there's a whole line of QB merchandise. :ohoho: The T-shirt looks especially interesting. People will always feel like you're staring at them. :plot:

I've watched ep 1 audio commentary - it's "magical girl tea party v0.5", lol. :XD: But it's fun to hear the girls (Aoi Yuuki, Chiwa Saitou and Eri Kitamura) share their thoughts on the episode and memories of voice recordings. :dote:
I don't remember which seiyuu it was, but she raised a new question when seeing Madoka's school with glass rooms and all: "how do they get changed for the gym class?" :ohoho: :XD:

Since her music is used in the other drama CDs I dont see why they should put someone else's music, so it must be hers.
The music of the talk is not by Yuki, the style is so different. But the new music in the drama cd 2... who knows? Can we see the credits? :ohoho:
