Puella Magi Madoka Magica

I dont understand the reasoning of the "relation to the recent tragedy" the show is just a product of fiction, and the fact that it may have one or two tsunamis in is mare considence, so I dont get why they should bitch about it so much since there are fans that want to watch it.
If they refuse to air it they just have to hand over the airing rights back to the studio so that we can see the episode via internet.

Well, there are a number of companies/stations/studios that chose to cancel/delay this fiction. Others didn't do it (like the station that aired the Onii-chan no Koto episode with a tsunami scene)... and TBH, the situation in Japan doesn't look affected by that. These are mostly concerns of political correctness, but what is weird is the idea of MBS clutching at the conract they don't want to carry out. Nobody gains anything from this delay - it's a headache for other stations and video services involved, Shaft, Aniplex, manga publishers who are forced to postpone releases for fear of spoilers... I understand somebody may accidentally see Walpurgis Night mayhem on TV and even go hysterical (God forbid, of course :omg: )... but as I already commented at AS, why won't MBS just stream the episodes on its own site? They can even add commercials to get their money back, since the show has a definite fanbase and audience, so quite a number of people will watch it. Otherwise, it's just ridiculous. :voodoo:

Of course, 2ch is not the most credible of sources, and all blame directed at MBS may turn out wrong... but if it's all true, I doubt they'd announce it officially anyway. So, maybe the current situation is Shaft and Aniplex sitting there and trying to negotiate out of the deal... :leaf: seriously, sponsor broadcaster is one thing, but isn't Aniplex the main production force behind the show? Shouldn't they have a word or something? Souns like some kind of Kyuubey-ish contract here.

i've heard that some tv stations don't air much so that emergency government broadcasts can be played without cutting into someone else's slot. maybe that's what they mean by "recent events"?

either way, i don't really get what they're waiting for. madoka's not that long of a show, they could spare time for one episode even if that's their excuse :uh..:

EDIT: okay, maybe it's more understandable now, since there was just a 7.4 earthquake and a possible tsunami coming

What's with the local geology?!! :omg: As if Japan hasn't had enough already... :uh..:
So, in relation to our subject...Apparently "the recent events" refuse to get any less recent. So we'll likely get the ending within April as promised. Let's just buy calendars for year 2012 and start marking days... :tea:

I think that it isn't the case for Madoka, because they put another show running on its original timeslot and if the government has an emergency broadcasts, that show is still cut.

It's another aftershock, happening in the region close to the previous 9.0 one.

buy on your own, I don't believe that 2012 crap :tea:

Buy the Kalafina Calendar instead :tea:

LOL, I wasn't referring to that Mayan fuss around 2012, my sarcasm was directed at MBS. :knife: :ohoho:
to requote my AS post again, the problem with MBS lies not in their refusal to broadcast Madoka, but in their refusal to let go of the show they refuse to broadcast. :knife:

Then again, it's a safe measure to keep in mind that the sourse is far from official. Puella Wiki has it stored, btw. :glasses:

The poster ID:oq9nsYz30 has only exactly one post made on that day (2ch randomize user ID every midnight); it's likely this one is a troll. Most likely 騎士ヴィスクエア, a famous troll in 2ch anime boards, who samefag on Madoka thread everyday using his mobile phone/P2 account/his PC, posting similar contents. I've removed it until there is any further proof on the topic. Original content is posted below. --0x99 03:21, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
Q:震災で休止された番組が続々放送されているがこの番組のみ長期の休止になった理由は何か
A:『震災の影響での休止である』と、それ以上のことはこちらには伝えられていない
Q:長期の休止の理由が明確にされてないがそれはなぜか
A:不明。明確にされてないのは確かなので番組の担当に伝える
Q:インターネットの配信も休止されているのはなぜか
A:不明。こちらには伝えられていない。該当の問い合わせ先に問い合わせてほしい
Q:放送がこのままされない可能性はあるのか
A:不明。

Q: The shows suspended due to the earthquake are now being aired one after another, but what's the reason for only this show being in long-term suspension?
A: We weren't told anything more than "it is on suspension due to the effects of the earthquake".
Q: Why hasn't the reason for the long-term suspension been clarified?
A: Unknown. They tell the person in charge of the programming that it's certain that it hasn't been clarified.
Q: Why is the internet distribution also suspended?
A: Unknown. We haven't been told why. I'd like you to inquire the correspondence for such.
Q: Is it possible that it will remain like this and not be aired?
A: Unknown. Our inquiry center is told programming broadcast information two weeks ahead, but at this point, they have no plans to air the show in the next two weeks.
Q: Shows broadcasted by satellite are aired after [regular broadcast], but in the case that the suspension continues, is it possible that they'll air it first?
A: Normally that's impossible. In the current state that it can be aired on MBS, if MBS doesn't air it first, internet distribution and satellite broadcast won't happen.

Well, while a joke like this would be trollish indeed, I certainly don't mind it proved wrong. :leaf:

Btw, thlooks like the discussion mode of TOD page is where they dump a lot of curious, but unsorted stuff, too. Including some scans and interview exerpts (everything below is choking with spoilers :knife: )

>>47950014 1 - The Secret of Homura's Room Homura's room is drawn in an other-worldly manner [TL note: this is also the word used for witches' barriers]. The truth is that it's supposed to be a holographic projected image. At its basis, it's an apartment set up around a dinner table and the like.

>>47948969 2 - In episode 8 it was revealed that there are multiple Kyubeys, but are their personalities difference?

Urobuchi: There are many bodies, but only one consciousness. Therefore, even if you kill the body, there isn't any sort of damage. Killing one is just like pulling out a single strand of hair. The scene where Kyubey eats his corpse, and then comes in from the stairs in the script. I was trying to write Kyubey as something that humans can't relate to. Think like, "If your brother really died, what would your response be."

>>47949220 3 - Urobuchi: Even though it's a 1-cour broadcast period, there were a lot of things to chip away at. I keep thinking very hard about the developments in the next Madoka (note: this comment was made on 3/13) TL note: Cour = a Japanese TV season of 12-14 episodes.

>>47949471 4 - There's only half of the show remaining: It's a somewhat short story, so do the two of you think you would want to make a sequel (Madoka 2)? Shinbo: I've thought a lot about what to do if there were 2-cours, what would go into all 12 episodes. I think I could really expand the world from what we've made so far.

>>47949703 5 - Urobuchi: Thinking about ending the story cleanly, it's somewhat troublesome. If it were 2-cour, there might be the possibility to develop things with more breadth. But I'd be worried about what I would write as a continuation if this were the case.

>>47950350 6 Urobuchi: When I was writing the script, since the monster design and the visual design weren't completed, there was no decision on the fight scenes. So in the script I wrote, "In this scene 'She says this line while fighting," just a rough outline. At the time Mami's Finisher was called "Ultima Shoot" (laughs), but I thought that was really lame, so during recording I was translating it on the internet. I tried Spanish and Greek, and then finally decided on the Italian "Tiro Finale."

>>47917408 7 Shinbo: "In the anime, Sayaka didn't kill the two hosts." Urobuchi: "It can be interpreted as both ways in the scenario, so Hanokage-san interpreted it as if they're killed in her manga version."

I'm deeply relieved about Sayaka, but then Shinbo's comment that "a person who killed other people can't get a happy ending" makes less sense. Much less sense. :@_@: :confu:

Meanwhile, fanart goes on; I personally found this movie poster downright hilarious. Especially the credits part. :XD:
there's no trace of Yuki on music :knife: but Hans Zimmer will do as well :ayashii: :ohoho:

Also, some think that Kyuoko and Charlotte might make good friends. :dote: :XD:

I think that it isn't the case for Madoka, because they put another show running on its original timeslot and if the government has an emergency broadcasts, that show is still cut.

Moreover, I heard that the last episodes of To Aru Majutsu no Index II depicted some mayhem and ruin, too. MBS aired them without twitching an eyelash. :ayashii:

from AS:

Apparently some MBS employee confirmed on twitter that it was delayed due to the earthquake.

[21:17.52] <+marubatu> real reason is said by MBS employee
[21:18.48] <+marubatu> that "it's delayed because it is sensitive to broadcast something at this moment, we have to choose wisely"
[21:19.08] <+marubatu> also sauce: https://twitter.com/honane/status/50469262514597888
[21:23.17] <+marubatu> "Please treat this as what I heard from others, since it's not my area of responsibility. I can't say anything but please wait for a while. People think differently, we have to handle with extreme care in a time like this. It's not getting cancelled, so please don't worry. Please endure with it for a while."

[21:24.57] <+marubatu> "Please don't misunderstand, we don't think suspend a show mid-way is a good thing. We also want to resume the program as soon as possible. But now I can't say anything beyond that, so please endure with it for a while."
[21:23.54] <+marubatu> https://twitter.com/honane/status/50529108261736448

Not in the terms of waiting, though :desksweat: :XD: I hope they decide on something soon. Even a remote date set somewhere around May would give people something definite to wait for. :leaf:
Then again, what's hope-giving is their intention to air it rather than just behave like a dog guarding a haystack. The rest... who knows? April is not over yet. :plz:

EDIT: The Magical Crusaders fangame now features a tutorial stage and Elsa Maria barrier. :sparkleguy:
I wonder if the author eventually goes further and makes stages even for those witches who didn't get much screen time. :ayashii:

Can't check it out yet, but according to AS folks, this claims episode 11 to be aired in its usual timeslot next week. Before that, Gen Urobuchi also tweeted about "Madoka being just around the corner"...
Excuse me, I think something got into my eye (*turns away, rubs his eyes fiercely :TdT: *)

EDIT: The screenshot seems to show something like that, indeed. :ayashii: The official site, however, has announced that both episodes will be aried together on April 21. MBS site agrees:

I believe many of us would prefer the first scenario (week-by-week delivery, even taking all the pain of suspence into account), but ANYWAY, MADOKA'S BACK IN ACTION! :cheer: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Let's just hope that nothing unexpected will change this schedule... and that no poor child had to become a Puella Magi for this :omg: :XD:
