There's a YT video of it off screen. It's supposedly from an official teaser trailer shown at Kyoto manga anime fes or something. As such, there's definitely more to it than meets the eye. Unless you're certain that official trailers give solid ending spoilers. They must be confident that this new footage will generate interest but not give anything away.

Then again, I kind of expect this to happen in the film so on the contrary, this is really screwing with my guesses. That must have been the real aim. lol.
So if SHAFT really is that devious, this is how it will end. They're showing it to fans who have been guessing this end all along to mislead them, only to have it be endgame. :D

With that much doubt, it's as good as having not been spoiled. How did such a clean gif come about with only off screen footage though?

Oh shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

WB sure is taking their sweet time announcing the USA screenings.

Then again with the new Madoka universe rules, soul gems might no more contain the magical girl's soul. OR breaking the soul gem was the only way to undo the goddess nature of Madoka ?

You know, at the moment, there is one aspect of this movie that just bugs the hell out of me... (That is, aside from the fact that I think Madoka Magica needs a sequel about as much as Superman needs a trip to the gym)

How is Sayaka suddenly alive again, exactly? I seem to distinctly recall her still dying even in Madoka's new and improved reality... And while she may be my favorite character in this show, I do not at all approve of a series of PMMM's caliber resorting to plot-convenient ressurrections. Let the dead characters stay dead, sheesh...

^i actually like sayaka's character better because her struggle is futile; it makes her all the more tragic that and i like her the least so it conveniently keeps her out

i wouldn't be surprised if the new 6th magical girl had something to do with her reappearance. or maybe it's a scene from the "end" of the movie, which will provide resolution... right?

Actually, I think the Sayaka fans will rage if she doesn't have enough screen time. Otaku are a hard bunch to please.

Seriously though, we don't even know if Sayaka's really alive at this point (it's SHAFT!). Just because you see her in the trailer doesn't mean it isn't just flashbacks or an alternate timeline or simply just OP scenes (please let that Kyouko x Madoka x Sayaka scene be outside the OP!).

I trust that a satisfactory explanation will be given for Sayaka if she is alive. I seriously doubt that they will leave such an important detail hanging.

Our dear Homura is a time traveler. A fact that trailer Sayaka is aware of. She accuses Homura of running away again, into a time that belongs only to Homura. Perhaps it's just time manipulation, but there's too much unknown about the new Homura (those wings? that bow?).

Madoka is literally the god now but something has gone awry, with QB's lines hinting at the return of the witches. We even got to see a glimpse of Oktavia in the trailer. That would imply that perhaps the timelines are collapsing into one. There's plenty of ways to play this. They just need to execute it well.

Saitou Chiwa has already taken to calling it a masterpiece, going as far as to say that if this movie doesn't succeed, no anime after this can. While I would still ask you to temper your expectations (over hyping kills everything), remember that these are the same people who brought you the original.

At the very least, the music will be good.

the plot is going to be retconned, i think
The term is... alternate timeline. Time traveling is so convenient.

Yes. And it seems that they will be using the BGM of the anime for this too...
I'll believe it when I see it in writing (not ANN's). It's probably on that two page shot but I can't make out some of the words. I don't think they can do it with only the original BGM though.

Venari Strigas as a battle BGM? Hmm. Ok, that doesn't sound too bad. Loopable too. Will Kajiura return to gaming once again? :XD:

^ I was hoping she would write for a game again for a long time, since I love her Xenosaga soundtracks (even though I didnt get to play the games yet T_T). If they do hire her, I bet she will definetely do some new BGMs for out of battle areas as well as some additional battle ones.

One BGM that was definetely looped in the anime was symposium magarum, which played twice in a row (and I was mourining when, when it came out it was half XD)

I actually liked the shorter length for Symposium magarum. Would be overly repetitive otherwise. It was looped but that song pretty much can only be used in one scene... the same for a few others. A few of the loops in the movies weren't that well done though. I could tell where the looping points were. Can they afford to hire Kajiura though (I don't know her rates but she can't possibly be cheap. lol)? And would Kajiura be able/want to take up that job...?

I reckon that the reason Kajiura doesn't do much video game music is because there's less creative freedom there. She always said that she loved how Anime let her try all sorts of things.

Off-topic:
Judging from the comments on niconico, Xenosaga II is the worst of the 3 games. Worse still, in Xenosaga II, the BGM was very poorly used. Low volume aside, pretty much all the songs felt out of place and didn't fit the scene at all. Only Communication Breakdown was used correctly, once. Because of that, most people hated the music. On its own though, in BGM only vids, Kajiura's tracks were well received. III is where all the shock that the music fits comes in. Volume was still awfully low though.

^ Yes I have heard about the volume problems on these games (and that you couldnt addust it)

Yes I dont know her rates, but they do have money to buy license to use the anime's music (which I have also heard is something expensive). I agree that some battle bgm wouldnt fit looped. Anyways, since the anime's music is loved by many people it would be stupid to hire another composer for the game - like they did for the SAO game.

^Say, idk much about this stuff, but I wanna ask: is it possible for the game makers to buy a certain number of tracks in the anime OSTs? I mean, if they can do that, they only need to grab all the tracks that fit the game from the OST, then hire a cheaper composer for any other tracks they need. That way they won't need to pay as much, the music still fits, and the anime's tracks are still in there even if YK doesn't compose for the game. I think I've seen anime OSTs that are made by more than 1 composer (when excluding insert songs, EDs and OPs), so maybe that idea could work? :confu:

^ I actually quite like Lien's tracks on the .hack//Link game OST, but like the composer to be well-involved with writing stuff to fit what is needed rather than having their works looped by somone else. That's what made the Lord of The Rings soundtrack work so well...

kind of topic too: Look at the bottom here http://madokamagicausa.com/movie.php

Many of these countries (the arabian ones) have either very poor population and or are at war yet they get to get the movies + soundtrack release, and its still not around in Greece, ISNT THAT STRANGE ?

[EDIT] I sent a message to the company that distributes the Sony movies in Greece, introducing them the anime and telling them why they need to import it here too, I hope they listen, and reply.

^Yeah, that sure is strange. I don't see many European countries in the list. Also, u forgot to quote the last line for the new territories:
China (P.R.O.C), Philippine, Thailand, Vietnam
Great, it's finally available in my country, but this...
89.98 US Dollar equals 1 899 927.70 Vietnamese Dong
That's 6 times my scholarship money :blood: :blood: :blood:

yes, and not only that but they're not releasing it in taiwan or korea either? sony, what the heck is going on :uh..:

I can't believe it! My country's in the list!

I just checked the rightstuf page for these sets, and I believe the new list reflects only the locations in which rightstuf can ship these items. It would be nice if the retail stores here will be getting the copies, instead of having the customer ordering online...

Okay, so it is a little cheaper when buying through rightstuf, although the shipping can get more pricey than when buying through cdjapan...

Action Plan: If I can't find any Madoka AoA import in retail stores, then I will be getting mine through rightstuf...
