Doublepost, but looks like there was a strings/acoustic version of Mahiru played at the Special Final. Source: multiple people who went. Info.

Edit: Further reports from tumblr seem to indicate that they played Hikari Furu at some point, and had a string quartet with Konno and a grand piano. Sounds rather great.

Piano and strings for the whole live ?

I'd assume the strings were there for the whole live, it'd be odd to bring a whole quartet and not use them much. Only song mentioned in regards to the piano was Mahiru.

You're not paying a piano a bunch of money to be there, unlike the members of a string quartet.

^ So there is rent per song for the piano ?
Lol.

I think the reaper of seasons is trying to say that the use of the quartet throughout the live makes sense since they are paid members. However, the use of the acoustic sound of the grand piano is not essential throughout the live. Perhaps it was used in Mahiru for the acoustic sound, since it is a piano only ballad (although would've sounded nice with Hokage as piano-only ballad too).

Correct me if I am wrong, reaper.

Oh almost forgot.
:tea:

Yes, that is correct. I'd hope they would've used the piano for any appropriate songs, but Mahiru is all I know. Supposedly there was no sign of any cameras today either, so if they're going to record the Special Finals presumably it'll be done tomorrow. It'd be odd if they don't release one for this tour after their track record, but if it means we'd get a live for the Spring acoustic/strings live instead, then I'm all for it.

That looks like a good set list honestly I'd be happy if it was released. The set list should be the same except for the encores if I'm following correctly though I'd assume FOTW would be on both assuming it's an album song.

Here's to hoping they replace Hikari Furu with Samidare. I want my Samidare live. Pls Kalafina make it happen.
They might replace Mahiru with Samidare since they come from the same CD. However I could do without Hikari Furu. It's been on almost every set list since it's release and although it's always done beautifully I need a break, plus you'd expect something that has been done far less for a special final. It does have special in the name.

I want progressive :comeback:

Samidare would be fine, too since we haven't heard a live of it.
Yeah actually progressive would fit well. Also it seems thta Yami no Uta and Hoshi no Uta aren't in the setlist either and I believe Yami no Uta was sung at a live show during the tour. I'd love to see an Old RM song as a Special Final song even if it was Red Moon

@LacrimosaRaven, Yami no Uta was in the setlist yesterday as the 13th song performed (闇の唄). Hopefully, it sticks around for today's performance.

I really wish progressive was up there also, but it might be there for today's performance, since they've been switching around songs all tour and they might do it again for (hopefully) the recorded performance. If yesterday's setlist is mostly the one we'll get, I'm glad to have koibito, ien, and lapis up there along with the new songs. I just hope they aren't too tired. They've been working really hard.

Whoops. I can't read Japanese, I can only remember the phonetics for hiragana and i seemed to have brushed past it even though I looked up everything with の in the title. I agree with you about the B-side comment though, seeing Lapis is really exciting especially since I don't believe there are any recordings of it that aren't audio only.

Totally understandable. I'm not too bad with hiragana and katakana, but the same can't be said for kanji (aside from, say, days of the week). I mostly memorize in the case of Kalafina songs, but a lot of the lesser known longer names and the kinda similar-looking names sometimes still messes me up, especially :

闇の唄 vs . 星の謡 (it does not help that they're back-to-back in Red Moon)

Yup, you're right, we have some lapis audio, but I don't think live anything for ien and koibito.

It's even worse when you look at FJY's songs, and she has at least 4 songs that follow that pattern, and 2 of them start with "hitomi". Luckily in Hitomi no Chikara (ひとみのちから), it's in hiragana, so I can read it :XD:

Hopefully the setlist shows up soon. It'll probably be a while since it's only 15:30 in Japan, though I don't know what time the concert starts (or started).

The "audio-only" lapis is actually the girls' studio vocals + FBM, I believe. If not, then it's just the studio version. Anyway, there isn't actually any definitive live version, so yay for cameras. I'm excited for this BD because of the plethora of songs we haven't seen live yet. And hopefully the girls are in good condition as well (which hasn't happened for any BD release since Red Moon).
