AND I WILL REACH HK ON THE 7th :omg: :blood:

Long time lurker, first time poster here. Just got home, and thought I'd offer some input on the live as a pretty casual fan.

From this live, I've learned the importance of a live band and a good sound setup; most of the live felt like a large-scale karaoke session, especially through the dodgy sound setup HITEC provided. Their vocals were pretty washed out throughout by the music being distorted at full blast to the point where I couldn't discern between syllables at some parts. The slower, softer songs worked out better (like haru ha kogane no yume no naka and sapphire); I could hear them sing more clearly. The crappy setup didn't stop me (or the fans) from enjoying fast songs like ongaku, mata kaze, and sprinter though. Those songs were nuts. Especially mata kaze.

In terms of "but can they sing live hurr", they were what I expected of them - which was top notch - with the exception of Hikaru. She has a good voice, but perhaps she was having an off day because there was no absolutely no control. She would start off too softly, then sing so loudly it hurt my ears when she was trying to compensate. I guess it could be blamed on the dodgy sound setup (lol excuses), but her vocals were no comparison to Wakana's.

And about Kajiura, she did appear in the encore! The girls said it was some sort of big surprise for her, but most of the die-hard fans in the front knew. We all sang happy birthday and she gave a speech in English. Apparently she was lurking in the back the whole time (who knew) and thanked us for being really "hot", which I took to mean "passionate" (lolengrish). The live ended with I have a dream in the encore.

Overall it was good stuff, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. My only regrets are not really saying anything to them at the signing, and being too late to the venue to get the keychain ;_; If anyone has the Kalafina keychain and are willing to let go of it for a price, please let me know!

I would post photos of my schwag if I had the know-how but lolidk

Wow that "happy birthday" from the audience is really unique I think. I mean , not every year happens for Yuki to have a live on her birthday :sohappy:

Thank you Birdplane for the report! and welcome to cpm!! :dote:

BACK FROM CONCERT. OMG ONE OF THE BEST TIMES OF MY LIFE :nosebleed: :nosebleed: :nosebleed:

MC #5 + SURPRISE

I Have A Dream

Pre-show:

- Had to buy 320 dollars worth of merchandise in order to get card for autograph session (works out to be approximately $50 CAD?)
- Got Progressive photo album and Red Moon Live Tour photo album (350 in total)
- Waited to get in, felt like I was waiting at the US customs again :XD:

The show:

- By no means a sold-out show, but the crowd was definitely extremely excited and I was surprised at how much the people in HK loved Kalafina.
- At first I was surprisingly calm because I think I was beyond the point of excitement, although it still felt like a dream
- I sat in row L, which would be the 12th row, pretty close to the center. It always sucks when there are taller people in front of you, but I suppose this was a pretty good seat already so no complaints :XD:
- Kalafina comes on the stage, everyone cheers...and stands up! And the rest of the concert was done with everyone standing up :ohoho:
- HK FANS ARE CRAZY I TELL YOU!!!
- They wore the Red Moon dresses for the show before encore.
- Sound system really sucks. Most of the time covered the ladies' lovely voices :blood: For example in Red Moon, you can barely hear the singing during the chorus, although in songs like Sapphire the sound was good
- I think I must admit that Hikaru was off key during several songs :uh..: Most noticeable in Fairytale and Natsu no Ringo. I was kinda worried before ARIA because I considered this HER song but amazingly she pulled it off well. Phew.
- Wakana live = awesome. I didn't notice any problems with her, and listening to her voice live is one of the most heavenly things I have experienced.
- What can I say about Keiko? Cute, lively, knows how to spread energy amongst the audience. And OMG the dance in TETO :nosebleed: :nosebleed: :nosebleed:
- During MC #1, Hikaru said something in Cantonese that translates to something like "ngo faan lai la", meaning "I'm back". OMG THAT WAS SO CUTE and she looked so clueless scratching her head and all :nosebleed:
- I didn't understand the Japanese. I think the words I caught were gogatsu, sangatsu, arigatou gouzaimasu, and some other random stuff.
- Ongaku was the highlight of the show for me because everyone just got so high. I think I was dancing to the songs most of the concert so people behind me were probably going "wtf" :XD:
- Also there were lots of people who went alone, which made me not feel so bad :XD:
- Most anticipated song for me was Lacrimosa because I did two covers for it and all :XD: I thought...there's no way they're NOT singing this song and wow I loved that performance!
- It was phenomenal seeing people raise their hands and being so immersed in the music. Brought tears to my eyes, literally.
- After Hikari no Senritsu, Kalafina left the stage and the audience started cheering something like "encore"...I think? It went on for a good 10 minutes before they reappeared after changing.
- After Sprinter, they were saying something about August 6th...and everyone screamed "Kajiura-sama's birthday!!!!" Actually throughout the entire show I was expecting Kajiura to pop up on stage but after a roaring welcome, she walked down the aisle from the back and got on stage. The crowd went wild. We sang happy birthday to her :nosebleed: :nosebleed: :nosebleed: She said it was really a surprise for her, and I think Kalafina said something like it was a surprise for her AND for us.
- I think my life has been completed at this point :XD:
- Ran out after the concert to line up for autographs.

Autograph session:

- I was in the front 10% of the line so it wasn't too bad of a wait.
- Wanted to take pictures of the ladies, but there were people blocking their faces when I tried. I think I sneaked one of Hikaru though :plot:
- Each signed their name on their own page in the Red Moon photo album.
- I told each of them to come to Canada, and here are my impressions of their reactions :XD:

silverywhite: Please come to Canada! We love you :hearts:
Hikaru: Thanks for coming ^__________^ (What is a Canada? :confu:)

silverywhite: I came from Canada! Please come to Canada!!!
Keiko: HONTOU? CANADA? :waii: WOW SUGOI!!!!! OKAY SURE NEXT TIME!!!!! :sparkleguy:

silverywhite: Come to Canada next time!!
Wakana: Thank you for coming!!!

...so in short, only Keiko understood what I said :nosebleed: :nosebleed: :nosebleed:

I'm sure I missed some stuff I wanted to write, so I'll make any additions when I have time tomorrow. For now I think I'm going to go and drool over the photo albums :ohoho: :ohoho: :ohoho:

Man, there's no way I can remember the setlist in any particular order except for the encore, which was in this order:

love come down
sprinter
MC
(Happy Birthday!)
I have a dream

I can probably name the songs they didn't perform:

first album:
overture
kizuato
ashita no keshiki
king ga hikaru ni...
seventh heaven

second album:
lol they did everything in the second one, oops. The live is called Red Moon, afterall.

In terms of single-only songs, they only did sapphire.

LOL I noted all the songs on my cellphone :XD:

Welcome BTW :sparkleguy: Where were you sitting in the concert?

Thank you so much silverwhite for this huge report and for the setlist !!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

It seems you really enjoyed it :dote:

LOL I cant believe Hikarudoesnt know where Canada is :XD: (then there is no way she knows where Greece is :desksweat: )

It was a pretty last-minute decision for me to go, so I ordered late. Sat in Section 1-2, K15. There were 3 pretty tall dudes standing directly in front of me, so I had to tip-toe the entire two-and-half hours. Feels bad, man.

You were in the first 10% of the autograph line? I was like the 20th! Maybe we passed each other by and didn't realize, haha.

I was hoping for something like a snippet, too!

Man I am still pretty up in arms about the terrible audio; it didn't do any of the songs justice ;_;

Anyone have watched that, i want to know
My location is A46, have a excellent view :ohoho: :ohoho:
My sixth sense told me that Wakana always look at me :shy:

My feeling of this live:
i heart Hikaru sometime was off-key, especially in her solo part. She was so sweet when she talking.
Keiko is so attractive as before, she is so cute, pretty, lovely......(my favourite)
Wakana make a perfect performance this time, i think she did the best job in this show

In the encore part, i remeber Yuki Kajiura said "in the last live tour, Kalafina said HK's fan are hot and warm, now i think they are hot"

We sing the song "Happy Birthday to You" to Yuki, she was so touching and almost cried. I wish she can have a memorable day.
HAPPY BRITHDAY TO YUKI!!! :V:

Thanks for your reports guys! I wish I'd been there with you too

Thanks for the report, Birdplanes and Annie (Oh yes. I used your real name.)
And ukky XD
Glad you guys had a blast! And silvery im sooo jealous! Photo album?? Get outta here!!!!!

/me pokes Kizu :plot:

@george: Haha it's not that Hikaru doesn't know where Canada is, but from her reaction it just seemed like she was so confused :shy: I probably spoke too fast lol

@Birdplane: There were two girls right behind me in line that were speaking in English - are you one of them??? Assuming you're a girl lol. And I totally agree about the audio

I wish they had done Gloria instead of Haru wa Kogane (only because I don't really like this song :XD: ) and included Oblivious somewhere in the setlist :XD:

Nope, I was near the end of that first little section right at the door with the escalators. And I'm a guy :XD:

I'd have to disagree about gloria instead of haru wa kogane, the song grew on me as I listened to it more. And it was one of the few songs that wasn't butchered by the speakers ;_;

oh man i totally forgot about oblivious not being in the setlist hurr

hey, silverywhite and Birdplane: have you got their signature?

I let Kalafina sign in my "Red Moon" commemorative book, this book is better than photo album (this album also sold in the last live tour HK).
The insufficient thing is can not have a handshake with them.

Yeah, I got them to sign the album cover. I slipped it back in the case too early though, and some of the ink smudged off ;_;

You'd think "upgrading" from a handshake to a signing would preclude there being a handshake too, haha.
