I Have A Dream
Pre-show:
- Had to buy 320 dollars worth of merchandise in order to get card for autograph session (works out to be approximately $50 CAD?)
- Got Progressive photo album and Red Moon Live Tour photo album (350 in total)
- Waited to get in, felt like I was waiting at the US customs again
The show:
- By no means a sold-out show, but the crowd was definitely extremely excited and I was surprised at how much the people in HK loved Kalafina.
- At first I was surprisingly calm because I think I was beyond the point of excitement, although it still felt like a dream
- I sat in row L, which would be the 12th row, pretty close to the center. It always sucks when there are taller people in front of you, but I suppose this was a pretty good seat already so no complaints
- Kalafina comes on the stage, everyone cheers...and stands up! And the rest of the concert was done with everyone standing up
- HK FANS ARE CRAZY I TELL YOU!!!
- They wore the Red Moon dresses for the show before encore.
- Sound system really sucks. Most of the time covered the ladies' lovely voices
For example in Red Moon, you can barely hear the singing during the chorus, although in songs like Sapphire the sound was good
- I think I must admit that Hikaru was off key during several songs
Most noticeable in Fairytale and Natsu no Ringo. I was kinda worried before ARIA because I considered this HER song but amazingly she pulled it off well. Phew.
- Wakana live = awesome. I didn't notice any problems with her, and listening to her voice live is one of the most heavenly things I have experienced.
- What can I say about Keiko? Cute, lively, knows how to spread energy amongst the audience. And OMG the dance in TETO
- During MC #1, Hikaru said something in Cantonese that translates to something like "ngo faan lai la", meaning "I'm back". OMG THAT WAS SO CUTE and she looked so clueless scratching her head and all
- I didn't understand the Japanese. I think the words I caught were gogatsu, sangatsu, arigatou gouzaimasu, and some other random stuff.
- Ongaku was the highlight of the show for me because everyone just got so high. I think I was dancing to the songs most of the concert so people behind me were probably going "wtf"
- Also there were lots of people who went alone, which made me not feel so bad
- Most anticipated song for me was Lacrimosa because I did two covers for it and all
I thought...there's no way they're NOT singing this song and wow I loved that performance!
- It was phenomenal seeing people raise their hands and being so immersed in the music. Brought tears to my eyes, literally.
- After Hikari no Senritsu, Kalafina left the stage and the audience started cheering something like "encore"...I think? It went on for a good 10 minutes before they reappeared after changing.
- After Sprinter, they were saying something about August 6th...and everyone screamed "Kajiura-sama's birthday!!!!" Actually throughout the entire show I was expecting Kajiura to pop up on stage but after a roaring welcome, she walked down the aisle from the back and got on stage. The crowd went wild. We sang happy birthday to her
She said it was really a surprise for her, and I think Kalafina said something like it was a surprise for her AND for us.
- I think my life has been completed at this point
- Ran out after the concert to line up for autographs.
Autograph session:
- I was in the front 10% of the line so it wasn't too bad of a wait.
- Wanted to take pictures of the ladies, but there were people blocking their faces when I tried. I think I sneaked one of Hikaru though
- Each signed their name on their own page in the Red Moon photo album.
- I told each of them to come to Canada, and here are my impressions of their reactions
silverywhite: Please come to Canada! We love you
Hikaru: Thanks for coming ^__________^ (What is a Canada?
)
silverywhite: I came from Canada! Please come to Canada!!!
Keiko: HONTOU? CANADA?
WOW SUGOI!!!!! OKAY SURE NEXT TIME!!!!!
silverywhite: Come to Canada next time!!
Wakana: Thank you for coming!!!
...so in short, only Keiko understood what I said
I'm sure I missed some stuff I wanted to write, so I'll make any additions when I have time tomorrow. For now I think I'm going to go and drool over the photo albums
