Kalafina in Budokan 28 February - 01 March 2015

most expensive stuffs for their Budokan lives (why luggage??) XDDD

luggage = kind a weird idea haha
You'd be surprised. It's practical. It's something you can use. Something fans can use when they travel to kalafina lives from other parts of Japan. The impression I get online is that for a luggage, it's a decent price. Towels, shirts and key chains are a staple but after buying over 5 towels from kalafina alone, I'm sure there are some who think that they really don't need any more towels. Lol. It's a nice way to keep the merchandise income up. I'm not getting one though. I find that expensive.

The watch however...

That Red design T-shirt is awesome :touched: The pocket watch and those socks are wonderful too :plot: I would wear them just while listening to Kalafina xD

We need a shark-themed song in the new album (sharkly blue, maybe) :punched:

If only money grow on trees, I would fly to Japan and purchase every single item listed. And that serial numbered pocket watch... :comeback:

To those who are going to be there this weekend, please enjoy it to the fullest! It's going to be awesome I know :TdT:

EDIT: And oh, it just crosses my mind, but if I remember correctly there's also a pocket watch in the "believe" PV right? Maybe they got the idea for a pocket watch merchandise from the PV :ayashii:

The setlist are a surprise, right?

Damn I hope Tsuioku is there. And Utsukushisa.

Presumably they're using the Best tracklists + bonuses. Probably throw in Believe as well because new. Sadly that'll end up with a pretty bleh setlist as the Best albums somehow managed to condense practically the entire lesser half of their tracks into two CDs. Hopefully they'll at least perform In Every Nothing or Hanataba or something to make it really worthwhile.

Maybe even songs from Ring your bell? :ayashii:

But yeah that's what I presumed too. Another BD, another disappointment.

It's a live to celebrate their best songs from the last 7 years. What else can you expect.

You guys are seriously such downers. =/
If they have a strings quartet, I think it'd be quite a good live to have.

Well, when their 'best' happens to include snow falling, Heavenly Blue and Eden, what do you expect? They have dozens of songs all vastly superior and yet those were the ones they picked for their supposed best. On top of that, I don't like Mirai or Mune no Yukue either and personally cluster them along with the aforementioned three as the bottom of the barrel when it comes to quality from Kalafina. The only song that's not on the Best albums that I'd even think of ranking as bad than any of those is Believe and they're likely to play that, too. Even if they go all out and sing even better than they've ever done before, they'll still be performing the worst possible material they can. On the other hand, at least that means if they do a live release I'll have five tea breaks I can take without having to worry about missing anything good. I honestly don't know who decided on the setlists for the Best releases but they should either be fired or at least taught what the word 'best' even means, because they sure went wide of the mark despite the ratio of good to bad songs in Kalafina's discography being heavily skewed towards good.

Well, I don't really like those songs that @Seasonreaper mentioned too, but I think a lot of us forget that just because we don't like something, doesn't mean other people can't like it. So instead of complaining about things that can't be changed, why not enjoy it and focus on the songs that we do like?

Here's wishing the girls a superb performance for both days! :cheer:

Maybe I'm just bitter because they seem to have gotten into a loop of performing the tiny handful of garbage songs they do have at every live recently.

Hopefully if they release it they'll have a better recording of Signal as that song has a lot of potential to it and, lack of bass aside, the slight changes to the Consolation Final version fixed the only real issue I ever had with it, that being the intro into the accordion solo. Still, what gives with no Kimi ga Hikari or Mata Kaze? I've been impressed with the various lives of Alleluia and Kimi no Gin no Niwa since release, so it'll be good to have those, even more so if they have accordion on hand. Was that ever confirmed? He's kinda necessary for KnGnN and as I mentioned he'd also change the single problem that I have with Signal, plus having him there might increase the chance of them also playing Hanataba which would please me a lot. I'm just hoping that if they do go for their newest stuff as a bonus that they'll also play In Every Nothing and Lapis.

Of course I hope it goes well for them, regardless of my issues with the setlist. I still have near endless respect for them, after all, plus out of every artist I know (which is MANY) I can only think of one, maybe two who haven't released a song I don't like, so it's not a major issue yet. I just really hope that any new single or album material here makes up for the last couple of a-side releases and also causes them to drop at least one of them for live performances.

I think the real problem is why it's taken this long for them to get a one man live at the Budokan. What is up with that.

Even LiSA had a Budokan live earlier than Kalafina (and her career started out later, and her music and singing are terrible).

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy for the girls. They just could do so much better. I'm disappointed because I KNOW they can do better. It's THE Budokan, and hyped to be the best live performance they will have ever given, and they aren't even going to be playing their actual best songs from their discography?

Opinions. How do they work?

They've been doing feedback forms for every single live. I'm sure they know more about what people at the lives prefer than we do.

I'm done with goods shopping. Bought more than I planned to. Pre-ordered my watch. I was near the front of the queue and yet they're already cautioning people that delivery of the watch might be in May. I shudder to think how long those ordering tomorrow will have to wait.

The bessatsu kadokawa is pretty thick. Nice bit of volume. Middle section has some coloured pages, it is otherwise black and white. It came with a special book cover. There's a section where they interview the organisers of the events overseas. Like Thomas Sirdey from Japan expo. It's all in Japanese though. Oh! And there's some 4 koma comics.
