Kalafina in AniUta KITAKYUSHU 2011

i thought lacrimosa wasn't that bad. at first it made me so sad to see wakana looking like she was working hard every second, but then i was like "YEEAH WAKANA! YOU GO, GIRL!" what a tough cookie!

magia was... :uh..: well... wakana's high harmonies during the 2nd verse were really bad, although i still love her "yeeee"s... seemed like hikaru was singing with less intensity and fierceness than she did for lisani. and despite terrible-beyond-belief sound system keiko still ruled the bridge :goodjob:
 
apprently in the comments, Wakana was just finished recovering from INfluenza. So i guess that explains something but still. I think the performances are fine. Its just Wakana that is really struggling and is making it sound worse than it is. and YES THE MIXING IN MAGIA!!!

Edit: The only really thing I liked was the Guitar Cover and hearing all the little extra effects and the YEEH's more prominently. especially during the Guitar Solo. Did not notice it before.
 
Poor Wakana :uh..: That's why she sounded so bad in magia :blood:
Seems that Hikaru's improved a lot. I started to like her live performances :ayashii:

Agree...at first before I knew about her influenza, it sounds like she's very tired or sth.. maybe she had a stuffy nose as well..and Magia... Wakana's chorus sounds so awful... I guess that she's off-note in some parts..? but as Yuki88 said..poor Wakana has a legit excuse.. But I still think that she'd done her best even she wasn't in the good condition... raising my thumb yp for her.. I agree that Hikaru's power dropped when comparing with perf. in LisAni..and the music..= =..I barely heard the instruments sounds...Orz..

Yuuka's perf is good...her vibrato is as good as always, but what I feel lack in the recording version is more lack in the live version..Orz... I guessed that what I need from her in this song maybe powerfulness..= =...but the live is quite ok for me..
 
@grunty: if you only want Kalafina to sound like this on every performances they have, you can go to hell, dear Grunty :tea:
 
It's not that I want them to be bad, it's simply how they are. If, on some show, they aren't - I suspect something fishy happened during post production (sort of easy to validate if no single performer on the show sucked)... Hate me if you must but you can't blame engineering/illness on 9 out of 10 TV performances. It doesn't work that way.

You have a point, there is evidence for that (although I think 9 out of 10 is an exaggeration)...but, what, no room for allowing that they can improve? Whatever it is, I'll stick with giving Kalafina the benefit of the doubt, not in the least because it simply makes me happier that way :sohappy:

That was a disappointing live, admittedly, especially after Animax and LisAni. But again, benefit of the doubt. Wakana's not perfect, but I on't expect her to sound that sub-par without a good reason.

I was really looking forward to a decent live of Magia with no post-production fail...I'll have to keep holding out :cry:
 
^ I'm sorry but Kalafina in LisAni was one of the best performers, or should I say, the best performer. I've watched the whole show only to have LiSA singing out-of-tune so many times (no matter how entertaining she was), Mami Kawada failing as usual and 9nine lipsync'ed.

I didn't really watch anyone else for LisAni, but I certainly thought that it was one of Kalafina's best performances. Pity about the sound quality :spotlight: ...that's why I was really hoping that they'd top that with this performance

You guys are really forgetting who you are talking to. It's me, grunty! A long time Kajiura fan and CPM/FJ.be/whateverforumtherewasforKajiura-user who is not afraid to say she doesn't always release great work. If you searched old posts you would definitely see me fanboying over their fantastic live singing around the first YK Live DVD and trying to find excuses for their poor Hokuto no Ken Wedding performance. With more performances, I simply chose to accept the reality.

I haven't watched the Mon-TV version of LisAni, but from the Sakana-chan version I would definitely say there was NO HORRIBLE FAIL FROM ANY ARTIST. (Check Minorin on LisAni and ANIMELO2010 live stream and it's definitely not the same quality.)

PS. Yuuka is definitely doing decently live judging from ANIMELO2010 live stream and this KITAKYUSHU.
 
@grunty: means you haven't watched those I mentioned above. End of words.
 
Well I can't comment on what I have not seen, but do you really want to argue 4/5 TV performances were FAIL for some other reason than their own?
