Kalafina at Mezamashi Live Odaiba 2015年8月15日

Far on the water was beautiful, as many have said. And for One Light, I'd like to hear the "proper" live version, where Kei's mic isn't so loud, like what @ritardando said.

@Kohaku_ I feel that way about LiSA, too, though she sounds better than what Eir sounded like in this.
 
I though the problem was the girls' power xD So it's the mic setting, I see.

@Westkana And LiSA can bring A LOT MORE ENERGY on the stage. But I also think that LiSA's voice is more suited for high notes than Eir's.
 
There seems to be a running thing that since Keiko is in the middle, the sound controllers think that she's going to be the main singer, and are wrong, constantly.

For Eir Aoi's singing, I've heard her sing Lapis before, and she was great, but here she was really flat. Kalafina's Memoria was better than Eir's and far on the water sounded great >w<
 
the problem with eir is she screams all her higher notes and to make her voice doesn't sound too jarring she holds her voice on the back of her throat. it's not a good singing technique.

talking about lisa, she's just cancerous.
 
I definitely agree with what people have said on One Light. although it's nice to hear Keiko so clearly the whole song is off balance and I bet they would've sounded good too :comeback:. As far as the rest goes I've never really listened to anything of Eir Aoi's but ritardando is right she sounded yell-y nasally and off key. I don't even want to think about what she could've done in TTB since I love that song. In FOTW They plan to have the missing lives so at least we have that:spotlight:. They'll probably be uploaded somewhere and it seems like most people here are getting a limited edition. If I get FOTW I'll probably get LE A
 
if the album turns out to be good I'll get the RE. i want the extra booklet in LE but the Keiko fanboy in me want the Keiko solo photo they usually have at the back of the booklet. SMEJ is really clever putting Keiko solo photo in RE lol

there's too much artists in that live, not to mention that the event is still on going till 08/31. So who knows? XD

The mics were kind of weird like Wakana's was kind of low? or Keiko & Hikaru's were too high? idk.
Anyway, RYB was alright.
One Light sounds better than in the other Mezamashi video and imo better than the studio recording.
The MC2 was really cute … "Kalafina has never heard this kind of "HO!~" before". hahah
FOTW is very pretty. Even though I haven't heard the official recording, I think I probably like the live version better too.
I seriously wish Memoria was a Kalafina song because it sounds so much better/more pleasant when they sing it (sorry Eir). Nice collab though. I thought it's interesting that Wakana said it's a difficult song to sing because she sounded pretty damn good imo. The practice must have paid off. I like Kalafina x Eir friendship though because cute. And Keiko was adorable asking someone to take pics.

With all the discussion about Hikaru lately I was kind of worried, but I had no reason to be. She's always improving. Wakana had a couple of misses unless I was hearing things and Keiko was awesome but other than that, great!
Overall a very good live despite technical(?) issues... I wish I could have gone because it is indeed a great atmosphere. ;A;

I listened to the songs again while uploading and honestly the sound imbalance in some of the songs is what bugged me more than anything. Would've been perfect if the sound was good.

and lol, Kalafina sounds 3x better than Eir in Memoria collab XDD
 
The mics were definitely wonky but I'm not complaining because ICANHEARKEIKOCLEARLYOMG since they put up a good performance nonetheless.
Already knew far on the water was aired from earlier Mezamashi snippet, I really like Wakana's lines.

Kalafina admitted to having sung Memoria in KTV lol. Why is that not surprising.
Enjoyed fotw the most, didn't feel the pinch that they omitted ttb (Hello 2012) ... overall quite satisfying to see 2 acts which I like well enough to be performing together.

I've heard better ring your bells. This was passable, but barely. Kajiurago bridge was nice.
Hikaru sounds good in One Light. Actually, this performance was pretty good despite the mic balance.
Far on the water was pretty. I'm sad the instrumental section is part of the full song (it feels unnecessary to me).
MEMORIA was awesome. Aoi Eir isn't that off-key, just slightly flat. It's still listenable.
 
Believe was ordinary, ring your bell was good, one light was great, far on the water was AMAZING, and Memoria was awesome. Overall, a good performance. Eir Aoi and the girls were really cute, especially Wakana and Eir's moment at the end.

Why was it that most of the people in the audience were looking at Keiko? In every single audience shot, almost all of the audience was looking at her. I understand people look at Keiko because people look to the middle naturally, but even people in front of Wakana and Hikaru were looking at her. Yeah, Keiko's pretty, but so is Hikaru and Wakana, pay the other two a little bit more attention, this is a group, not just one person singing! argh this is why I hate watching kalafina lives now, ruined budokan for me too
 
Believe - it was nice version. But I hate this song, it's boring...
Ring your bell - I really loved RYB. It's like song about love. Sweet.
One Light - Hikaru was great here. I like her agressive voice. 'Dance' during brigde was nice.
FOW - Verses of Keiko and Hikaru remind me Misterioso/Mirai... Bleh. But Wakana in refrain was great. I think that FOW isn't good song as title of album. It should be more characteristic.
Memoria - wow, Kalafina - you was amazing! I like most verses Eir+Hikaru! Hikaru was even better than Eir.
 
Wakana had a few problems in Ring your Bell. The biggest one being the last "ring your beeeelll".
The other performances were good.
 
like i've said before in april when the rip of FoW was released from NHK...i LOVE that song! it's so light & cute.
 
Did anyone notice Wakana's major strain in One Light (in the final chorus - at 16:32,when she sings "tsuzuiteru" after "aoku tsuranaru sakebi no mukou e")?
