KALAFINA AT ANIME FESTIVAL ASIA (AFA) INDONESIA 2013

^ Thanks for the tip, Hatouchan.

If I can make it to both concerts, then why not. However, life is cruel. :(

For those who frequently visit Jakarta, what hotels there give the best yet practical value for tourists, particularly for 2 nights of staying? I'm now finding ways to maximize all my resources...

^Babymetal is pretty much trash IMO. And they lip-sync for songs that have dance choreography. That much was apparent from the nico stream, how they went from pitch perfect while dancing to downright horrible, song to song.

Oh i see, sounds logical/ expected, because its really rare to find girls of that age that can sing well (and as far as I saw in 2 PV I watched only 1 really sings, a second says some lines (second voice-style) and the third just dances).

OMG. Aoi Eir (6th) and Kalafina (7th) in AFAID, then FJ in Hongkong on the 21st. Darn decision making... I can only afford one trip... :omg:

EDIT:
Holy crap. Now AFAID has an early bird promo for the VIP package...
it costs 1200000 Indonesian rupiah, less 100000 than usual.

With this, there is a chance that I get to have an autograph from Aoi Eir and Kalafina, since the package includes ONE autograph per artist performing on that day. Glad that they don't perform in the same day though.

There is no guarantee in HK that there is going to be an autograph signing though, but Yuki Kajiura is going to be there... :omg: :knife:

If I had to pick only one it would be FJ because of Yuki and Yuriko.

750k IDR is expensive.. :omg:
I'll spend 1 month eating in warteg or Indomies :blood:
:XD: :XD: :XD: :XD: @ eating in warteg or Indomies for a month.

Rp.750k is like $75 :blood:
But considering that price is for VIP and extra stuffs, it's acceptable~ :ohoho:

Actually I think IDR 750k is not that expensive, considering you get to see 3 artists performing (although I pretty much only care for Kalafina) and get the chance at autograph signing. Plus the venue for this year's AFA is much better and accessible than last year's. iirc, they'll held the Anisong concert at Plenary Hall JCC, which has around 5000 seats (around the same amount with Tokyo International Forum A).

@Hatouchan : Maybe learning from past experiences with time management, they decide to cut 1 artist from each day? iirc, AFA Singapore and Malaysia got 4 artists each day.

I'll pretty much listen to Kalafina's songs at Babymetal part, listen to some fripside songs and going crazy at Kalafina's part. :XD:

@chrisgarci : About hotels, it's about whether you want a cheaper hotel with quite far distance from the venue (JCC) or you want a closer one. There are some hotels with walking distance from JCC, such as the Sultan (ex. Hilton International), Hotel Mulia, or Hotel Atlet Century Park. Those 3 are the nearest (they're in around the same complex with JCC, and the Sultan has a underground tunnel connects it with JCC) but those 3 hotels are quite expensive, or costs you more than other hotels. But if you get someone to share the hotel fee with, then why not?

@Aeveltra : Actually I was really hoping for Kalafina to make it to this year's AFA so I pretty much still has my enough money for the VIP ticket. My next month's salary pretty much will all go to Kalafina merchandise if they sell any.

@all people who attended AFA last year : Did they have any artists' booth at the exhibition arena? I'm pretty much hoping they'll have any, so I can buy Kalafina goods without the extra shipping charge :XD:

[edit] can the admin change this thread name from ANIME FESTIVAL INDONESIA to ANIME FESTIVAL ASIA (AFA) INDONESIA? I forgot to write the ASIA yesterday, lol. was over-excited yesterday.

^AFA will usually put up a booth for AFA merchandise (look for the AFA SHOP or something similar), which would include some items from the various artists. Don't expect too much though. You'd probably only see Consolation, a few copies of AE, some of the newer singles, and a Kalafina x AFA T-SHIRT and lanyard.

You get to see 2 worthy 3 artists but it's still just a 3 hour or so performance. It's still cheaper than SG's AFA though (at least SGD~150/IDR ~1100K). Just pray that you don't get left with Babymetal's autographed poster (I don't think they're well known in JP, even. Nico commenters had no idea who they were). I assume it's still the standard 100 per artist and there's lesser artists around this time... so...

Guess for day 2 performance order:
1) Fripside
2) Babymetal
3) Kalafina

*Apologies to any Babymetal fans in these forums. I'll stop pushing your buttons now*

^ I am not a fan, I was just amazed at how much more budget is used for their PVs, as well as that they concerts sell out (Kalafina ones do it alot rarely, maybe because thay are many ?)

The bold sentence. That's the only thing that makes me feel anxious, whether I want to get the VIP ticket or not. Most people here said that the only artist worth seeing in day-2 was only Kalafina. I'm agree that Babymetal is not that famous, and fripside isn't that well known either here, so the autograph chance for Kalafina is considerably much lesser. And maybe those who buy the 2-day VIP ticket get more chance to get autograph from Kalafina. I could afford both day VIP ticket, but I really don't wanna to see the artists from day 1. I can't stand Aoi Eir's voice, not a big fans of May'n, and couldn't care less with Aya Hirano. Kalafina is the only reason I'm going this year. The only consolation for getting the VIP ticket is at least you get to see them closer.

Actually I don't even know Babymetal exists if not from AFA ID this year, lol. Some junior high school girls trying to 'scream'? I pretty much will plug my ear with my earbuds and listen to Kalafina songs at their part, lol.

LOL! :XD: :XD: scream.

Eh well, but Fripside is nice. But 3 artists will mean chances of meeting Kalafina is higher, if there 4 you only have 25%, while 3 aartists gives you a 33% chance, so worth trying, though. :ayashii:

but you need to give me teh VIP ticket :plot:

Seriously? That would probably be cheaper for me, actually :ohoho: But I'm not sure I'd be comfortable imposing on someone's hospitality... :bow:

If this is overcome, then may helpless little AYYX once again be allowed to......?

Helpless? Little? Suuuure. :XD: But I doubt I'd be much of help to you anyway :desksweat: ...And of course, it'd be fun! But don't count on it just yet, I'm still not sure I can go...

The draw does not work that way, even if you buy the 2 day ticket. Look at them as separate draws. A day 1 ticket will only entitle you to one entry to the day 1 draw. You cannot use a day 1 ticket for a day 2 draw. Buying a 2 day ticket will simply give you one draw for each day. The only way to get two draws is to buy two day 2 tickets.

The chances aren't split evenly across all artists. It depends on the demand for each one. VIP ticket holders have to enter the draw (buying the ticket does not automatically enter you into the draw), and choose an artist. So, in this case, Kalafina is likely to have more entries; meaning your chances of being drawn is likely even lower than the 33% you expected. You compete with all those who applied for the same artist as you. If an artist does not meet its quota of 100 users, all those who applied for that artist will be chosen and the remaining slots will be filled with applicants who didn't get anything thus far. There is, however, a chance that you do not get anything at all.

In AFA11, the organisers screwed up their drawing system. There were tickets that turned up multiple times on all artists, taking up precious slots. Meaning that less than 100 people got their Kalafina poster in SG (boy, was I pissed). I wrote a flaming email expressing my disappointment and suggestions though. And they fixed the draw for AFAMY after that. You will now be disqualified if you tried to apply twice with the same ticket (yeah, that was my fault =p). I was assigned to Angela and it was apparent that Kalafina had the most entries, what with everyone trying to trade theirs (May'n/Milky Holmes/Ito Kanako/Angela) for Kalafina's.

@Hatouchan : Thanks for the enlightenment :D

So, every VIP ticket holders had to enter the draw and choose the artist they want to get the autograph from, and have to compete with all attendees who want the autograph from the same artist, right? Then in AFA ID day 2 it's gonna be really TIGHT for Kalafina then. Maybe more than 80% of the VIP ticket holders want to get Kalafina's autograph, seeing the other 2 artists aren't really well known here. Man, my chance to get Kala autograph :cry: :omg:

...AFA's FB page linked to Kalafina's VEVO. I didn't realise Kalafina had a VEVO page...

@ritardando
Maybe they'll do what they did at AFA Malaysia and announce at the last minute that anyone who bought a copy of Kalafina's latest album at the SME booth could get it signed, in a transparent yet undeniably effective move to clear their stock...

^ Won't they accept the albums bought earlier, such as when they were released in Japan? :uh..:

Wow. It seems that they had just made the VEVO for Kalafina days ago. Why only think of making one now though? Also, Hikari Furu video is named as Hikariful. 0_0

@CruelAngel :
AH, that's what I've been hoping for and planning to do. Hope they'll do the same with AFA ID this year, so I can get more chance to get Kala autograph :XD:

@chrisgarci :
yes, lol @ the Hikariful. :XD:

:nophoto:
found it at Fb, but dunno if it may help any of here...
:blood: i still think i can't go there...

I got a feeling the order for day 2 will be like this;

Baby Metal, Fripside then Kalafina~
