On a little Kalafina binge...
You mean the one by p*tch ? Dont mind her she is so obsessed with Kalafina girls that she ended up hating on Kajiura.I find it kinda odd because I saw a post claiming that Kajiura just used them ( Kalafina girls ) as mere instruments for her songs and that she is as bitter as SpacecraftThat Kajiura doesn’t even want to fight for them or to even attempt to have them back as her singers, especially to Keiko and Hikaru in the recent events.
To be honest, Kalafina girls not mentioning Kajiura during the comeback or anything after that just hurts. When they use Kalafina music in their stories on IG just hits different knowing how close everyone as a family was before all of this. I am really wondering why the girls agreed to Spacecraft’s terms and conditions knowing it would hurt Kajiura.
Ohh well. I shouldn’t think more about this![]()
Wait. She had a vocal surgery?Yeah… Wakana struggled here at some parts.
I am assuming this was all before her vocal surgery.
Huh????
The song the writer of Nightwish wrote after firing their first singer dedicated to her xD

Kalafina without Kajiura would be nothing. Pretty girls who can sing exist and even ones with similar or better voice. Its her who made these songs and combined their voice and trained them to sing. Also if they were famous themselves their solo careers would explode in sales , something that hasnt happened so far..
If anyone used the girls that is spacecraft because we now know Kajiura was working even with anime projects she didnt like for financial reasons (and maybe due to her contract as producer of them which didnt really allow her to compose for other artist for these years - because if she did the Kalafins girls wouldnt habe to sing absolutely everything themselves) and even now that she focuses more of lives she doesnt do more than 10 concerts per year. Do you remember how many Kalafina did ? All you have to do is go to one of the live pages. like this one https://canta-per-me.net/live-events/2015-2016/ and that was for at least 8 years nonstop. If you count in all the rehearsals needed its no wonder their voice started to break.
As to why they agreed to the terms?
- maybe they didnt know of the endless lives by the time of signing.
- maybe they thought they could manage it.
- in Japan its rude to deny things you hsve been offfered in proffessional way.
Also what did they do as their reunion under SC? A fl*pping live concert, the very thing that made their voices worse....
Speaking of concerts i think nobody forced Wakana Keiko and Hikaru to enter FictionJuction before or even after the disbandment. wakana and keiko could quit FJ if they hated Kajiura or if 1 more tour was too much for them to handle.and also if they did Keiko amd Hikaru wouldnt join once more after Kafina disbandment for at least 4 more years.
To create a vocal group I feel like you can work with average / above average singers who can blend well together, if that's what is available. It's not all the time you'll get top-level singers, and if you do they may not always work well together. Her singers in Kalafina and Fictionjunction to be honest are not that great as solo singers
Speaking about Kalafina, They each offer what they can - they've proven that they are not bad singers - it's just the quality of Kajiura's music that presents them in a more refined musical landscape than usual, though they are not limited to Kajiura's music. IKajiura’s imagination towards their voices had brought them where they are at today. I hate to admit it but without Kajiura, they don’t stand out.
I think we can at least agree that she respects them as professionals and collaborators, and may have different levels of fondness for them. I really have come to a conclusion that Kajiura has no issues with the ladies and it's just fans that are assuming all that (because we don't have info). Kajiura is not against them using her music that she wrote for them, and every time they sing her music her creativity is highlighted again and again. There's no way to divorce her presence from her music, no matter if SC or Sony or anyone wants that to be the case.Kajiura loves and respects them. I can really say that since I also work in the music industry in my country. I know how Kajiura adores those people who love and supports her music. Kajiura made them relevant and we love them because of Kajiura’s music.
I don't whether it was that ancient Kajiura blog with the story of the lady playing a guy as an instrument and discarding instruments that are not useful to her, that brought up the idea of Kajiura seeing her singers as tools. There is a reality of the producer having a vision for a song, and pushing the singer to provide what is required for the performance, and we know Kajiura has a strong vision for her music (like Revo). No, they are not Kajiura’s mere tools. However, I don’t like seeing Kalafina girls or SPACECRAFT related people treat Kajiura’s music like a mere tool in making money or in still promoting them.
On this for me, I think their harmony skills outside of Kajiura's direction are pretty basic. I say this because when I have seen them sing live and impromptu, and they select a classic Japanese song or holiday song to sing, the harmony they choose are not often very inventive - just the basic. This is nothing against them, they just harmonize better when they're singing what is already created by Kajiura, and just adding their emotive abilities to that foundation.Kalafina individually they are good singers, together they can harmonize well BUT it takes a YUKI KAJIURA to make them sound like KALAFINA.
