Re:

Sorry but it's FictionJunction!!! Or Eden-like It has the structure of Parallel Hearts/Toki no Mukou.../eternal blue. Or, maybe, I'm obsessed, but kajiurago at the beginning of the song is becoming very usual in Kajura's openings. Of course, the song has the Kalafina essence, the stoicism.
Also, I feel, Hikaru isn't needed here, I don't like her succinct parts, at the moment. Sorry Hikaru-fans!!

(P.S. was it just me or was there a woman randomly repeating this word over and over again at 0:11 and 0:24 etc. throughout the song?)
That's going to drive me crazy! :headbite:

The song is so :nosebleed: :sohappy:
Thanks a million for the link george1234 :dote:

After the slow transition befitting an Opening theme from 3 of them till Wakana's part, I can slowly feel the heroic aura building up from the song fitting in the OP of Fate/Zero :touched:

OMGGGGGGG!! I SHOULD HAVE PREORDER IT ALONG WITH THE After Eden Live! and get 232amazon pts plus discounts Nooooo :comeback:  :stupidtable:

Rather than the structure being the same of Parallel Hears/Toki no Mukou/Eternal Blue, I'd say it's a typical structure ofr Kajiura's OP for these days (Hikari no Senritsu could be an exception). It's just that FJ has three OPs while Kalafina has two.

True. It hasn't gotten old for me personally, though.

Come to think of it, though, Hikari no Senritsu is quite similar to Hitomi no Kakera in a few ways...so it could be said that HnS has a Kajiura-sensei OP feel to it too. :ayashii:

Double-post

Y'know, this is completely random, but To the Beginning's starting to remind me of A Song of Storm and Fire now. Interesting...

EDIT

The chorus of To the Beginning, I mean :ohoho:

FJ or Kalafina it doesn't matter to me anymore to me they're a family :XD: but you got a point there though :ayashii: . It could easily be a FJ song with Yuriko and Kaori in place of Hikaru like Eternal Blue for example, I think Yuki wanted to push Kalafina out of the genre box. :XD:

Not just Kajiura's, it feels almost like a format for any OP these days.
And maybe it feels FJ-ish cause it sounds 'bright'? Cause Kalafina tends to sound very dark to me.

Is that Hanae Tomaru at the end? It kinda sounds like her.
Didn't really notice it, but it'll be a real surprise if true. :ayashii:

That aside I LOVE the kajiurago harmony and chorus here.
I wanted to pass on this release, now I can't dammit. :stupidbox:

I like it, eventhough it has an FJ pattern on it, but it's kind a different for kalafina. I just like the strings so much. :hearts:

Violin...>______<... I love the violin..!!! (ok...the song is also good but may be not my cup of tea...) Quite a new style for Kalafina... I don't think I'll preorder it until I've listened to the full version&b-side song... But it's far better than I expected when I saw the comment that it's similar to Toki no.. :XD: .

Imo it might have the general FJ stucture (drums + violin) but what there are many thing that make it fresh:

- the lines of the part of the song before the refrain are sung by all three of them instead of only one as it was in FJ songs so far, andthe way this happens makes it way more energetic,

- also the strings melody are alot more complicated than they were in Parallel Heart Toki no Mokou or Eternal blue.

-Plus, notice that the transition to refrain is done by drums instead of violin.

-Plus, the end of the song is not done with the direct and usual for kajiura songs prolongation of the last vowel but the climax of the song stops before it (dont know how to describe that better) something i find really nice.

Due to these reasons I consider it as a new song, no matter how many say its like Toki no Mukou.

Nothing surprising in this track to me. Chorus disjointed from the rest as in most Kajiura songs these days.

On 2nd listen I actually started humming "toki no mukou ni" right before the actual chorus of this song started.

^ I'm thinking a Magia-like set, or maybe a forest...I'd be surprised if they filmed in a field, since they just did it for Symphonia. But it has to have an expansive feeling to match the song :ayashii:

It should have a moon to match both the tv series and the mood of the song (not only but I'm almost sure they mention the moon in the lyrics).

I'm hoping the PV will have more action/storyline since the song is quite lively...well, at least, it seems to be livelier than symphonia, so they should be doing more than just standing and gazing into the distance and waving at the camera... :ayashii:

A very good notion. And if we dwell on it a bit, what's common about the shows the OPs were composed for? Yep, all of them but Sora no Woto are mystical and action-oriented (to various degrees, of course) stories. :ayashii: Come to think of it, so are most of the shows Yuki writes OPs for.:XD:

I agree about the chorus. I like it, but it it was out of place. I was expecting something different to lead up to a chorus like that. :uh..:

I also thought of 'toki no' right before the chorus.

The violin was awesome, though! :nosebleed:

My quick transcription of the lyrics. May be full of mistakes.

ato ichido dake kiseki wa okoru darou
yasashii koe wo egaku yuganda mirai

mou daremo nakanai sekai no tame ni
akaku kegasareta sora no doko ni mo
todokazu kieru sakebi to inori
nagusame wa sutete yukeru

kirei na tsuki no hikari ga
hajimari he to shizumiyuku
sono kanata he
tozasareteku hitomi de
mada tooku he te wo nobasu
kimi no nageki wo shinjite
(can't hear the last word clearly >_>)

If we were to continue our parallels with FJ, I'd say this song reminds me more of Eternal Blue than Toki no Mukou.

^ Agree. I'm also reminded of Eternal Blue as I listened to to the beginning. Too FictionJunction-esque. Now I'm suspicious if Kajiura actually wanted to use FJ instead but unable to because of Fate Zero being under Aniplex/SMEJ so she had to settle with Kalafina :TdT:

^ Me too,
@Yuki88 but you really have a point there about Fion choosing Kalafina instead of FJ :ayashii:

But as for me I prefer Eternal Blue... although both sounded awesome in their own way :XD:

I don't think that's the case. I seriously think that's the way Kajiura does OPs nowadays, so it doesn't really matter if it's Kalafina or FJ.
