Kalafina 10th single"to the beginning"(Fate/Zero OP2)

After hearing/seeing the whole thing...

I said it on the radio rips and I'll say it again - I like Hikaru's parts. The vocal bridge is decent. The last chorus change is nice. The actual verse and refrain melodies and harmonies, however, get a "meh" from me. I don't really hate it - I just don't care about it one bit and think it totally should've been released under FictionJunction.

The PV is amateurish. Nevermind the actual content (which is Zzzzzzzzz) - the lighting, color-timing is so random between different scenes! I went WTF on the very first cut from outside to inside.
 
The only part from the pv that was decent for me was the ending with Wakana. There were some REALLY ridiculous moments, like the transition between the pre-chorus and the chorus (seriously, WTH was that).

What I liked from the vocal bridge was from Keiko's "kanashii dake kese wa shinai" onwards. Overall, I don't know what to think of the song right now. What comes to my mind is "OK". Nothing more, nothing less. I think it may be a grower (or rather, I want it to be). I really want Manten to be a good song so I can feel a bit more fond about the single.
 
Okay, what will they do in this one whole months, if they're finished with the single and the PV? A new single in two months? :knife: I mean, DO NOT MAKE US WAIT SONY, just because the 2nd season of fate/zero hasn't been started!! You should release it immediately after the "first" episode! :stupidtable:

PV bores me, except the last part, Wakana and her magical powers (the rose of Magia and the moon of to the beginning, lol). One the worst PV, who's the director? Toshiyuki Suzuki again?
About the song, I love Keiko's part in the bridge. But in general is a typical song by Kajiura, very familiar. I'm not excited with this song.

If you mean Yuki & Co, they've got what to be busy with. Like the lives Kazado mentioned. As to Sony... Let's be thankful they still release OP/ED singles instead of bundling them, seriously. :white:

I like the covers, from what I can see of them, but I won't comment on the PV until I see it. It sounds disappointing, though. :uh..:
 
I hate that moon when it appears in the instrumental parts between the verses, also these parts are so boringly static during the PV. Love their dresses though :dote: I was very surprised it didnt had any guitar kajiurago or violin solos during the bridge, and I think that's nice. The bridge was pretty good. What I didnt liked is when the song suddenly slowed down in the middle of the bridge just to start upbeat again a bit later imo Yuki should had kept it upbeat at that point.

I was wrong there is kajiurago ,its just not easily noticable .

The PV was indeed boring. My favorite part was at the end with Wakana. The full song is okay, albeit typical of course. I like that it's more even in part distribution, and Keiko's part in the bridge is awesome! :shy: I still can't get over the violin at the beginning sounding exactly like the violin in Parallel Hearts, just a different octave or something, though. :uh..:
 
I am not going to listen to it either until my copy arrives... or try not to anyways. (I may end up, since I can't wait sometimes lol) No samples on the website yet though, right?

I think these are about the best dresses they've had in a while...they're actually symmetrical, which is very nice. I like the exotic pattern and the short sleeves on Hikaru's dress :shy:

As for the PV itself, it's terrible. I've become convinced that the director's either a hack or just a troll (and something tells me he's the guy who did Sprinter, Fairytale, etc. and not the guy who did Symphonia and other recent PVs), because the overwhelming amount of superimposition makes me want to punch something and the shots are so incredibly REPETITIVE. For crying out loud, K-pop PVs are better than this. Plus that weird purple thing, moon reflection or splotchy CG or whatever it is, hurts my eyes, and poor Wakana looks so stiff scooping up the water at the end. I can safely say that Hikaru completely rescues the entire thing because she's so dramatic in all her headshots...

Plus, didn't we already get the "walking in a tunnel" thing in the Kagayaku PV? And why is the lighting completely different in those shots? For that matter, am I the only one who sees the PV as a bunch of recycled shots? :uh..:

The song itself is all right. There isn't much to make me really love it, not like I expected there to be judging by the radio preview, but that's probably because there's no guitar solo. I certainly don't dislike it, though, but I'm not sure whether I'll preorder the single now, especially with such an awful PV...

Actually I think that worked out fine. The way you mentioned it, I thought it was going to be a tempo change like in Sound Horizon songs, but it's just something similar to Keiko's bridges in Magia or Toki no Mukou. It serves to somewhat "break up the monotony" for me.

I hear a slight similarity, but it's not exact for me...there are quite a few differences, I think :ayashii:

I think you're right. It might just be my tendency to look for the similarities, which is why I'm finding it to be much similar than it actually is. :leaf:

I like the scenes with the more 'natural' light better than the violet light. They remind me of vampires in the violet light. :omg:
