Kajiuras music quality is dropping?

Taking advantage of this thread I'd like to express one more complain of me about Yuki's music. I always loved all her violin solos and the most of the guitar ones. However, lately I noticed that in her fast Kalafina / FJ songs always uses electric guitar or violin (If you except Hikari no Senritsu's flute bridge :shy: ), and I fine myself tired of the fact that although the melodies are nice she uses only these 2 instruments to express them. What I mean is that I'd be finding more entertaining if she alternatively was starting using other instruments as well for the main instrumental parts of the songs (begging, bridge, end) such as saxophone (it was so Epic in pandora hearts expanded :nosebleed: ), fast piano, bagpipe, church organ, and others. Also I'd like more classic guitar tracks like Akatsuki no Kuruma :dote: . This way her songs would be becoming automatically less repetitive and more :dote: .

It is not possible for that to happen.

That would depend on which story will Kajiura Be.

Her Soundtrack regarding Tsubasa Chronicle is nice since the Story is nice and unique on it's own.

But Composing for dark Gothic inspired literature such as Pandora Hearts and Kara no Kyokai.
Had affected her Ability.

What I also notice is that, Yuki is not anymore composing soundtrack since she composed for Pandora Hearts.
She only composes the Opening and Ending songs and KALAFINA.

Sure but shw can do it for the non tie-up albums songs :plot:

Well, she probably decided to take a break since the last 2 years she has composed lots of soundtracks (7 KnK, Achilles to Kame, 2 Pandora Hearts, RHH)

Although the term "Progressive rock" was coined in the 1970's

Yuki's "Progressive" is arguably the best rock song ever.

I'll second you on that though grunty... :uh..: Even though it wasn't the correct manner to express your feelings..
Progressive is a nice song but it isn't rock. And Akiko imitator..? :blood:
Well opinions are opinions i guess but what Hua Xiao Min writes is absurd :ghost:

Re: Re:

Damn... here comes progressive = rock again... :uh..:
And whoever said Akiko Shikata is a Yuki Kajiura imitator... they must not have listened to much of Akiko's work...

Anyway, my absolute favs from Yuki's works are Lacrimosa and Bloody rabbit. From what I can see, there isn't anyone else who shares my feelings in here. And even though I might wonder what's wrong with you all, all I have to say is... it's all a matter of taste guys. And taste is subjective. Why are you all acting as if YOUR taste in music is something indisputable?
My suggestion is this: If you find you're getting tired of Yuki's music, you might as well take a break from it and listen to something different for a change.

Well,i must say it took me quite some time to get into Yuki Kajiura's music. The funny thing is,even though i noticed her music back then when i was watching Tsubasa first season i was still a newbie with japanese music so i didn't know how to download it. Actually i started listening to her because some friends recommended her to me,and that was it.Personally,i do not adore Kalafina, even though i love their songs.I prefer the singers that were chosen for FictionJunction's main vocalists.
The reason that Yuki's singers always make me emotional is because they are all so different,so unique, yet they sing united.I love watching how much fun they seem to have in their live performances!
My favorite songs are Canta per me(Yuriko italian version),Break the sword of justice(but i barely see anyone to get interested by that song @_@ i think it's totally epic),Parallel Hearts(love each girls vocal work in it),Pandora Hearts,Ordinary Dream(almost noone notices that song either >_<' ),strange games,we are one..Kalafina's Sprinter and Serenato..etc.
Even though from time to time,i change the artists in my playlist, because i don't want to get sick of their songs :XD: But i don't believe her music quality is dropping at all,if you ask me. I can say i didn't like Hikari no Senritsu as much as i'd wanted, but i loved 時の向こう 幻の空 single so i guess it's only a matter of taste.

Re: Re:

Another realisation: It's not that the quality is dropping. It's just that she's no longer composing songs that appeal to you who thinks so. Yuki's worst songs are very VERY high quality, and whoever says otherwise needs a good fix of Greek skyladika (doggy) songs just to get some perspective.

Glad there is someone here who agrees with me. I thought I was in a Yuki hating site for a second.

And before anyone tells me I am being a fantard... My top artist at the moment is Akiko Shikata. About 400 plays ahead of Yuki. :dote:

Actually I have nothing against Yuki makes more and often music, but I just want to say this :
The fan will always listen to whatever the artist makes. But should the artists releases things which are always similar, the fans will be bored, no matter how good it is.
Instead of the listener who should stop hearing the music, it is better that the artist who takes a break and searching for a new inspiration.

i will take this example from mostly western artist I love : Björk, Arcade Fire, Massive attack (and susumu hirasawa).
they have released album in 2-4 years interval. The results? Each albums sounds different while they still retain the feeling of the artists.

again, taste is subjective, but the art is the art itself, and it is objective. I won't say M13 from KnK OST 7 is yuki's best quality (okay I'm being unfair here)

You're comparing solo artists with a composer that makes soundtracks and composes for 2 bands. If you were comparing her to a composer who does similar work (Yoko Kanno for example), I'd say your comparison was valid.

Edit: From what I see, Susumu Hirasawa is also a composer. Still, I don't hear him writing songs for other bands.

That's just an SFX track and the only reason its in the OST is because ufotable decided to put in the OST CD the music just as it was used in the movies, if it wasnt that case those tracks would have been discarded from the CD.

And my point is,
whoever is the artist, a composer or not, s/he should know her/his limit and take a break. Time restrains creativity.

Just info : Susumu Hirasawa sings and releases albums for himself and his band, P-Model.

@george : that's why I said I'm being unfair. Well, if you want, you can take another examples. I believe some tracks doesn't have good quality.

I'll only say L. O. L. on Hua Xiao Min-san's comment.

For 'progressive', it has nothing to do with the genre 'progressive rock'.
And for Akiko Shikata..that's like saying 'Pandora Hearts' imitated 'Kuroshitsuji' and that 'Kuroshitsuji' imitated 'Rozen Maiden', lol.

Sorry, Hua Xiao Min-san, but I think it's totally nonsense, frankly speaking.

And...

I am Not really making YUKI overload, but I am just curious why?

YOu may think that I may not be sensitive but there are two possible interpretations for that matter.

1st.) Yuki was tired of composing and needs to rest.

2nd.) YUki is trying to save her reputation and to preserve her honor.
(When you seem sick, you tend to hide it don't you)

You may not think that the second interpretation is true but that second interpretation is based on my experience.

I suggest that we pray for Yuki Kajiura so that she will compose better music that would break through the reputation she established herself.
At least, In that way, She will not only benefit for it but we will benefit from her fruits.

What I mean is that I'd be finding more entertaining if she alternatively was starting using other instruments as well for the main instrumental parts of the songs (begging, bridge, end) such as saxophone (it was so Epic in pandora hearts expanded ), fast piano, bagpipe, church organ, and others.

While I don't seem to be tired with violin bridges, I second bagpipes. I do miss Yuki's bagpipe tracks (Cynical World... :nosebleed: Red Rose... :nosebleed: :nosebleed: :nosebleed: ).

Break the sword of justice(but i barely see anyone to get interested by that song @_@ i think it's totally epic)

Or perhaps this song is so great it simply needn't be stated aloud. :sparkleguy: :XD: Future Soundscapes are all fantastic (and interestingly, they remain the only OSTs Yuki gave actual titles to :ayashii: ).

Pandora Hearts,Ordinary Dream(almost noone notices that song either >_<' ),strange games,we are one..Kalafina's Sprinter and Serenato..etc.

same applies here, these works seem perfect enough without anyone stating it. :dote: Although PH OST1 was [predictably] abounding in pure BGM, there are several overly fantstic tracks there to my taste, and PH OST2, while sadly not featuring even more Eri, came out even better, since most of the tracks sound like definite melodies.

2nd.) YUki is trying to save her reputation and to preserve her honor.

Well, I'll just repeat my imho here: she doesn't have to save anything. Her works, be they more or less grand than the past ones, still surpass a lot. Whatever drop of quality we may speak about, I don't see a drop significant enough to make me panic. :XD:

Actually, what I'm MORE worried about is that Yuki seems to be running out of... titles. :omg: It brings a bit of mess into her discography, with two or three Despairs (all cello-based), two Limits (though utterly different), etc. (Yep, numerous M01/02... don't help either :XD: ). It is especially unnerving in PH - it has Cradle (See Madlax), Melody (vs Noir's Melodie, though I may be just bitching here), the aforementioned Limits (see .hack//SIGN)... And it was only a few days ago that I realised that PH1 has a song called Relief, and PH2 has a song called The Relief. :desksweat: If a new season were to come out, I'm a bit worried about the possibilities of songs like THE Relief and Da Relief. :XD:

Anyway, as for breaks, it's possible that Yuki is already taking one. No new OSTs have been announced so far (although a new BT series is due in fall, but I wouldn't make any guesses now). Or this year might be like 2003, when Yuki concentrated on studio albums. Let's just leave it up to her, she sure knows better what she wants. :ayashii:
