I wonder why she wonders that people stayed with her by playing their music, not listening first, what the audience wanted to hear.
You cannot always only play songs the audience wants to hear.
I think the live tours met just the right spot between niche and all-time-greats.
When you think about it... to be able to pick a setlist of 60 of your own songs!
Not only does this show her GREAT affection to creating wonderful music, that over so many years people wanted to listen to!
This also means lots and lots of work to re~work oneself into these 60 songs to be able to perform them again.
This requires (potential) long forgotten instruments, that might be brought back to life, find the right techs to repair and prepare them,
go through all the material, carefully select the front members, try to get the alltime great band members together on specific days, practice with the always-changing front members, carefully choose and rent the locations... [...]
This list will barely ever end. This is so much of a logistic masterpiece to make all that happen.. and in a way people like it, and want to attend the next concert also! - And if possible buy merch even... which also needs to be thought about and produced in good quality first..
