Hi everybody,
I guess I should be introducing myself because the admins start hunting me down, eh?
So, where do I start? At the beginning, there was chaos and then the Big Bang... Oh, wait, too far back... Let's try again. So, years ago, I watched an anime called Madlax and remember this catchy insert called Nowhere. Didn't pay much attention back then so, it felt back to the memory backburner. Fast forward a couple of years and was watching Mobile Suit Gundam Seed as well as Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny and, once again, some of the songs caught my attention. I did a bit of digging and found the singer for Nowhere was the same as the insert songs in GS and GSD! Somehow, as a result, I bought the Destination CD... And everything once again went to the memory backburner.
Fast forward again. A couple of weeks ago, having nothing better to do, I re-watched the Gundam DVDs and... Bam! Those insert songs! So, as any person in this Internet age did, starting looking for FictionJunction Yuuka, which led to Kajiura Yuki which led to the other FictionJunction projects (as well as Kalafina) and eventually this site. So, here I am!
Now, under normal circumstances, I would have stayed a lurker but I have a question to ask so I might as well introduce myself before continuing!
Other (useless?) details:
1) I apologize if I don't say who is my favourite FictionJunction Club singer. While I do cheer for one or two (or three??? ^_^) over the others, in the end, I feel they are who they are because they are a group. In other words, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
2) Don't have much musical knowledge but, as I have been reading different threads, I feel I am learning more about music. Hopefully? You know, high notes, low notes and so on.
3) I don't have problems with Engrish, specially when the singers say something in a weird way. I myself speak three completely unrelated languages (Cantonese, English and Spanish) and I know it is difficult to jump from one language to another. In fact, me being Chinese living in Canada, when I meet people for the first time, they usually look at me funny as I speak English with a Latin accent (not to mention US Southern type idioms).
4) I took some basic Japanese courses eons ago but I only recall paying for the class, not much the class itself. So, overall, I don't understand the lyrics at all (then again, I usually don't pay attention to lyrics in Cantonese, Spanish or English songs!). Still, I like the songs from FJ and Kalafina because there is a sense of emotion given to them. Sorry, not sure if this is a bit strange/doesn't make sense!
Anyway, that's my small intro and... Admins, can you recall those "for hire"? ^_^
