I actually agree with this statement. Some people are extremely upset with the fact that Keanu Reeves is playing Spike but I think he fits the role really well. I can only imagine who'll play Faye and Ed. Most likely people who don't fit the role at all. Kind of similar with the Christie Monteiro situation in that fail Tekken movie.
 
I doubt there will be a movie. They interviewed Reeves and said nothing has started becase they don't have the money to.
 
That's true, but they have been told that if the script comes out to be horrible or not potential, they will cancel the rights and not make the movie.
 
The Japanese have a point at that. Cowboy Bebop is NOT like Transformers that could be dragged to success by visual awesomeness alone.
On the other hand, it's not that hard to adapt, given that the series itself was created by Western Standards in the first place. Hey, they could practically just remake the key plot parts into live action without meddling with screenplay! Just provide appropriate visuals (which is what Hollywood is GOOD at), and you'll have a hit, not another Speedy Racer.
(though speaking about Speedy Racer, I can only actually blame the poor brothers of choosing the wrong anime - it never had a deep enough storyline to boot).
 
Speed Racer was lame. Lame. Let's just hope this one comes out well, if it's ever going to be realized.
