Streaming from pc's via WiFi, streaming from external hard disks via 2 USB cables (directly linked into the Archos). If the computers in the house had more storage capacity, I could increase the available data to unlimited amounts.

Also, this post is made typing on my Archos.

Nothing special at all to me.. XD
I do that the whole day... controlling my mac via my iPod Touch (also able to controll Windows and any Linux)
Have also chat clients for MSN, ICQ, AIM, Google Talk, Yahoo, Zypher and so an, allmost every one.

Do you have applications on the Archos?
Something like an Email client or a piano xD

seems to be an interessting device you have

A piano would not be very handy. I already have a piano anyway (Roland RD-700SX). And I never use other e-mail clients than the ones that can be used online (webmail applications and hotmail). It can use those just fine.

The Archos is mostly special because of it's screen. 4.3 inch is large and it has a high resolution, could color depth and large view angle. That's why I bought it.

I've read some infos about it and it sounds good, but because you have to buy every little crap that should be in it out of the box I think it's way to expensive... plug ins for the internet and such things. It has to be free -.-
I mean you pay almost 300€ (30gb) and have to pay extra just to get Opera? No way!

Yes, the extra costs for plugins are a bitch. Especially the additional codecs and web browser should have been standard.

in conclution: buy your mp3 to match your own needs, instead of talking 1337 about it. i have an iPod nano, iriver something i cant remember and a zen stone.

but i prefer the nano. the stone breaks more often than vista crashes, iriver's mainframe kills me, and i keep dropping my ipod from it's case, but i think it is easier to use, and has the best sound.

and this post is PSP made. my fingers hurts now

I didn't make the post with the Archos to prove a point, but because I'd already moved my computer to my new house and had yet to connect another one.

Well that's what iPods are made for :sohappy:
They may be expensive, but the best thing about them is not the player itself. It's iTunes.
You can say what you want, but no other music player gives you what iTunes does. It's simple, has a nice design and is not a useless vizualizer like WMP is :bored:
The easiest things are just a pain in the ass on WMP, really :twitch:

and hell, I hacked the school network with my iPod Touch :bwahaha:

MediaMonkey?

MediaMonkey is a digital media player and media library application developed by Ventis Media Inc., for organizing and playing audio on Microsoft Windows operating systems.
it's design is a rip off of Apple's brushed metal, even the buttons

i would say... the whole player looks like a rip off of iTunes

amarok > *
even if i'm mainly a windows user, this player is the best i've ever used.
imho, its main flaw is the fact that there's no DFX for it

I've never used Amarok, but it seems to be a very good player for Linux
