Hello all!

sarasara

I eat sleep and breathe Yuki
Hello everyone! You can call me Sara :)
I'm happy to have finally made an account on this site, I've been stalking it obsessively for a year now, but I was always too lazy to ever sign up lol:touched:

A little about me:
I was first introduced to Kajiura (and subsequently Kalafina) through the Fate/Zero soundtrack actually (even though that's probably my least favorite soundtrack by her now :omgz:), but I thought it was really good at the time so I downloaded it, along with the 2nd OP, which I also really liked (even though TTB is also one of my least favorite Kala songs now lolol:hide:).

And while I was on iTunes randomly (this was like 4 years ago, back when buying music off iTunes was still cool), I saw the Seventh Heaven album on there, so I was like 'Hey, this group did the Fate/Zero OP, I'll just buy it, why not?" Well I loved it at first listen, and then proceeded to buy and download every other Kalafina song I could.
From there, I introduced myself to FictionJunction, See-Saw, etc. and now I'm pretty deep into Kajiura obsession. (Even though I actually only watched Kara no Kyoukai for the first time a few months ago lol, it was AMAZING tho :shy:)

A bit more about me, I live in California, I've played violin and piano for 10 years, I'm currently a senior in high school, and I'm planning to dual major in Creative Writing and Japanese ( I really want to be a translator :psst:) in college.
I can also list my favorite Kajiura songs if you want! I don't want to make this post too long. :desksweat:
But yeah, I'm really looking forward to posting on this forum, and getting to know everyone on here :)

...(BTW really stupid question, how do you change your sig and profile picture...? :...:)

Hi, @sarasara! Welcome to Canta per me! :hi:

What would be some favorite songs of yours by Kajiura? I know you mentioned that you didn't want to make the post too long, but it's probably fine.

In order to change your profile pic, you click your name at the top bar of the screen, then click "Personal Details". The avatar should be in that screen. I know there's a wait period between signing up and being able to change your pic to prevent spamming, so just wait a little :XD:

Enjoy your stay here! :dote:

Welcome Sara! How soon do you plan to visit Japan? People in Japan that you most want to meet?

Hello! I'm planning on going to Japan with a group of friends this summer for our Senior trip, but I'm actually going to go to college in California for 2 years, and then hopefully I'll study abroad in Japan my Junior or Senior year :)
As for people I'd most want to meet, well lol it's Kalafina of course!! It's my dream to see them live :dote:

Welcome to cpm from the other side of the States. If f/z isn't your favorite soundtrack, what is?

Welcome, welcome :w00t:. Always nice to see new people around. Enjoy your stay~. If there's anything you want to ask, just go ahead :goodjob:.

I'm nowhere near you in real life, so I'm just going to fistbump you digitally for this absurdly good display of taste .

Hi, welcome! another violinist ;)) I'm too.
I don't know if you are aware but Kajiura is going to California in January :dote: and some people from this forum is going too. I wanted to go, but already spent lots of money going to Japan this year.

You'll love see Kalafina live, they are so cute and lovely.

LOL thanks. Those songs are so good tho, I rarely see them talked about. (Especially Sandpiper):touched:

Hello!! And yes, I know about the concert! I really really want to go, but at the same time, it is the SAO soundtrack (which...meh), and Keiko won't be there (:vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex:), so it's hard to justify spending that much money for a concert I know I won't enjoy as much. It's unfortunate though, I actually do want to go but... :orz:

I know, it's sad. Also the fact that Sandpiper is never played live either (other than the amazing performance on the After Eden live at least), even Utsukushisa gets played more and that's a b-side. I'd be happy paying for a concert ticket just to see it alone, I swear :comeback:.

I know! It depresses me so much that we'll probably never see them play it live ever again :uh..: But hey, at least we got to see Sandpiper performed live even once, unlike some other songs (cough Serenato cough) :desksweat:

At least we got Serenato on the 5th Anni album. That performance is magnificent too :plz:.

Neither of them have more than one recording however and that makes me sad. And yet shit like Believe has shown up many times :barf:.

Yes, that performance was just :nosebleed::nosebleed::nosebleed:. I just wish I could've actually watched them perform it :touched:

But yeah, ugh I know what you mean abut the shitty songs being overplayed. I remember I was watching the FoTW live and I was so hyped after Ongaku and then Heavenly Blue kicked in and I was like :blood::blood::blood::blood::blood::blood:.
The same thing happened when Believe was after Yami no Uta, like honestly those two songs domt even remotely go well together Ughhhh:barf:

Whilst I technically got less songs when I saw them on the FotW tour than following shows, I don't really mind since the one thing they added for the later dates was Heavenly Blue :ohoho:.

I think Believe was also somewhere else in the setlist? I pretty much blanked it when I heard that opening riff so I forgot where it showed up. Or maybe it was in the same slot and I was too blown away by Yami no Uta :nosebleed:.
