omg magnolia! i miss that song so much. yesterday's was better but this one has yasashii uta hmm

kalafina stop singing destination unknown plz progressive and Mata Kaze are much better

I never have cared much for Progressive, so I don't really care if they never sing it.

Mata Kaze though :touched:.

First day is better simply because ending on Mirai is super disappointing. Also Mata Kaze and Kyrie.

If they played Yasashii Uta last instead of Mirai and replaced Mirai's original slot with Kyrie, plus switched out TTB with Mata Kaze, then it would be almost perfect. Also replace snow falling with Serenato because snow falling is boring and serenato is one of the only Seventh Heaven songs that isn't here :TdT:.

lmao what are u talking about. the first half is KnK songs in sequential order, not seventh heaven album. they did sing the majority of seventh heaven album but that's not what they intended to do. I don't like snow falling either but on this case there's a theme/reason on why did they sing that song. I would love to see serenato performed but not in this case because it'd disrupt the "unity/flow" of the song selections. having serenato there between seventh heaven and Alleluia would make no sense.

(more people to add on my ignore list lol)

Nice job jumping to conclusions that me saying I wanted serenato there because it's from Seventh Heaven means it should interrupt the KnK batch. Just stick it later in the concert. Stop reaching super hard to start drama because you have nothing better to do.

That would be cool. I'd like a two day combo live where they play SH/RM and then AE/Con in full with b-sides from those eras to fill out the setlists, kinda like how The Cure did their Trilogy live and played three albums in full.

Hmm, I guess I forgot about the MCs and stuff, the albums are around an hour or so each and their sets are usually more than two hours. Just the albums alone would probably work though.

just read something interesting on tumblr. apparently according to people at 2chan forum at this 9th anniversary live they lower the key for ARIA live so it's more suited to Hikaru's "new" voice. I find it really interesting (and somewhat disappointing tbh because to me it's finding the easiest solution. rather than overcome it or just simply revert back to her old singing technique that was much more proper they settle on lowering the key). people are still complaining about this and about Hikaru's voice in general but I personally think Hikaru's voice is just wrecked.

the problem is that her voice used to sound great, why change it? same goes for Wakana. i don't care whether it's for Kalafina step up like Kajiura used to say or not, it's basically a step down for them as a singer because they're actually sacrificing what was great about their vocal. they already have problem of not hitting the right notes when they sing with their "original" voice and now they have to change it to produce the tone that I suspect Kajiura told them to produce so their problem doubles. now they don't hit the right notes and their tone sounds like shit (someone posted about this before, forgot it's in this forum or in a youtube comment) when they sing their older songs because we're used to listen to their old tone and I personally think why change something that's already beautiful and undamaged? Both Hikaru and Wakana also completely cast aside how to sing like they used to, not alternating between this new voices and their old voices.

tl;dr: Hikaru and Wakana are beyond salvation, Keiko please just leave this group because seriously you have the most wonderful tone even when you don't use your deep voice and leave Kajiura before something happen to you.

Ummm... it's not like flipping a switch.
I didn't mean to sound like simplifying it, I mean like she should've practiced more or uses her old voice because it's her voice using the proper technique, Hikaru has had a vocal training almost all her life prior to joining Kalafina - tho it's maybe quite hard to do because as I've said, both Hikaru and Wakana have completely cast aside their old singing technique. This could've been prevented if they alternate between their old and new voice/singing technique or just didn't change it on the first place. Now it's just ruined.

@george1234 some singers sing much more lives and have much more tour and still sounded fabulous. Hikaru's singing burden is much lighter than the other two these past 2 years.

why do people keep defending Kajiura when Wakana herself, in 2011, said that Kajiura was the one who told her to sing in a different voice than the one she's been using. This has happened with Wakana, I don't see why it can't happen to Hikaru. The girls seemed to be okay with it but I think it's problematic because Kajiura is their sole producer and composer. They had to do what they're told to do.

But if Kajiura is the cause Chiaki, Saeko, and Yuuka should have had problems as well (even though their collaboration was for shorter time), and same for Yuriko who sing for her ever since Noir, not only in soundtracks but as chorus as well (in Saeko Yuuka Kalafina and some vocalists collab songs eg original Houseki) . Why Keiko doesnt have any issue ? Does she have some anti-Kajiura barrier ? (lol) I think its more about the way they treat their vocal chords daily (eg we know Wakana drinks ice latte even during rehearsals) and the amount of live performances.

Once damage is done to someone's vocal cords, there's really no going back to a voice that one has had previously, even with surgery. Moreover, using surgery to fix issues like vocal nodules can inadvertently lead to vocal change. Take Julie Andrews, for example, as someone who lost much of her upper range due to a botched operation to remove nodules.

why do people keep defending Kajiura when Wakana herself, in 2011, said that Kajiura was the one who told her to sing in a different voice than the one she's been using.

People say lots of things. Just like how their SAO hollywood live was supposedly cancelled due to "visa issues." It's up to you to decide if you really buy their explanation.

There's no doubting that Hikaru and Wakana are featured more prominently in Kalafina songs than Keiko. They also tend to be pushed to their vocal limits. That, in conjunction with their busy schedules, could have presumably lead to their respective predicaments. Keiko is typically not pushed to sing past her comfortable range. When she does, she's really hit or miss, to be honest. Sometimes she nails a high note, other times she has to gliss to reach it, and there are times when she's just off-key.
