I don't think there is a thread about this (not that I digged too hard), so here it goes!

After reading ImmortalBirdcage comment on Hikaru's hair in the KALAFINA AT ANIME FESTIVAL ASIA (AFA) INDONESIA 2013 thread, I am suddenly curious: For each of the utahime, which hairstyles you think suits them better?

I was thinking on making a poll; however, I don't think there would be enough options and/or would be able to list all of them. So, instead, I will write them down here and give my thoughts. Will appreciate yours as well! (Going in alphabetical order...)

Hikaru: I think she has gone through some iterations: long straight on the right and corncrow on the left, ponytail with danglers on the side, curly, and so on. Overall, I think I like pretty much all style she has had so far!

Kaori: Long straight or tied up, I like hers both ways.

Keiko: I think pretty much all of us agree it has to be long hair straight, "Hime cut" style. In fact, Procter & Gamble should pay her to endorse Pantene! Of course, some would argue on the accesories she should wear (Kajiura Yuki Live #9???)

Yuriko Kaida: Shoulder length, with some hair ornament, i.e., Kajiura Live #4 and #9. Sorry, can't say much here!

Yuuka: I think I prefer hers neck or barely shoulder length, straight. A bit curly works as well. Not sure about her hair braided, though.

Wakana: I think this might be open to discussion, given hers has gone through an evolution, as originally hers was short(er) and has let it grow to match Hikaru and Keiko. In the Lives, for the most part, it has been straight (though different haircut style compared to Kaori or Keiko), quasi-straight ponytail (After Eden Live) or ponytail on a side, with some accesories (Kajiura Yuki Live #4 or #9). I think I like hers in the Kajiura Yuki Lives.

to be honest i'm not fond of cornrows for any girl, so there's that here are my two cents:

hikaru: definitely long hair. looong hair, and when she moves it to one side (usually her right) and curls it, it's so great and gives her an elegant, yet edgy air. sometimes when she braids part of it back (like in the symphonia pv) and lets her hair down in the back, it's absolutely gorgeous!

kaori: hm.... i think her face is a bit wide, and her hair too thin, for her hair to be completely down... if it's tied or pinned up in some way, i think she looks cool and beautiful (but not a full ponytail) because her face also has a handsome "bishie" look.

keiko: yes. i wish she'd stop trimming her hair so often; it's so beautiful and smooth and shiny! she should really advertise for pantene btw, i'm actually a huge fan of the hime cut style -- however, keiko's hair is not a hime cut. so close though! but i think i'd prefer it this way because it's more modern, and it's more versatile (like the french braids for after eden live). but yeah um keiko has my favorite hair so yeah. the longer the better. but ugh the huge/weird hair accesories... so basically long and straight, please.

yuriko: i'd say she's a bit old to pull off really long hair length a bit beyond the shoulder (blades) should work very well. again, she doesn't have very thick hair, so too long isn't good. i can't imagine her hair curly at all....

yuuka: ooh, shoulder-length for sure. she's the type to seem pretty young and fresh, so long hair would clash with her looks/image. semi-pinned up is also a good look!

wakana: waaaah.... such a toughie ponytails fit her wonderfully; she has the facial structure for it. pretty much all styles fit her since she's so versatile but my favorite hair style...? got to be red moon live: partially pinned back, a couple of fringe curls to accentuate her face the braids they've added in more recent performances like here are nice too: http://i.imgur.com/L5pSF3r.jpg

I am not musch into fashion, I just look at the girls they way they are without knowing names for every kind of hairstyle or haircut, but I prefer long hair (rarely curly ones), I hate dont like the boy-length shortened hair at all, even if its for girls that tends to fit them

George, not sure about women in Greece but, in the places I have lived, complimenting a woman - be it your girlfriend, wife, sister or just a friend - on her hair can make her day. So, you don't necessarily have to know the name of hairstyles and what not. But, if there is a hairstyle you like and you notice a woman you know has put some effort, voicing that opinion might be the best thing to do!

Cerise, ah Stone Cold! The first time I watched it, I wasn't paying too much attention and thought Wakana was Keiko because of the long straight hair! ^_^;;;

woahhhh cerise, that's a really nice gif oh kimh, speaking of keiko in stone cold... imo, i never liked her weird perm thing on the side fringes. they reminded me of arisugawa juri from utena, tbh

I too am a fan of long hair, george which is why I want Hii-tan to have her old hair again Though I must say I loove Wakana's short hair in the Consolation photoshoot.

Wakana: I was going to say, "Pretty much any time she has long hair." But Cerise reminded me of Stone Cold. Dammit, guess that has to be the one.

Keiko: The regular super-long straight hair. I'm usually not a fan of bangs, but Keiko rocks them. The curled hair during Red Moon lives wasn't bad, per se, but the side fringes always seemed in danger of getting in her mouth when singing. (Btw, ImmortalBirdcage, what's wrong with Juri? =P)

Hikaru: The curled hair in Red Moon lives. I don't mind her with super-long hair, but I always thought her facial shape is less suited for, say, the Hikari Furu style.

Don't worry about not knowing how to be eloquent when talking about hairstyles. I'm a girl and I have no idea how either. There's probably a few misnomers in my post right now.

For each of the utahime, which hairstyles you think suits them better?

Hikaru:

I like her hair in UTATANE the most and the NICO Consolation special. Braids are sexy.

Kaori: Long hair for sure. Side bangs are a must.

Keiko: This may sound biased coming from me but I must say that this lady looks good in almost every hairstyle up until now. Yes you may throw your slippers/bricks at me now.

Yuriko: I don't think there's much changes from her. And I'm okay with it staying that way.

Yuuka: Best would be from Kouya Ruten period / anything similar to when she went on Denpa Kenkyuusha.

Wakana: STONE COLD. I spent a good 5 minutes staring at Cerise's GIF.

She looks good with short hair like this too but I'm pretty sure we are not ever going to see that again.

I kinda liked cornrows on Hikaru for her lives. But I think they are using them too often lately A change wouldnt be bad.

Keiko, long straight. But curly fits her pretty well as well

Kaori, YK live vol. 9 hairstyle definitely the best for me!

Yuriko, yeah. Pretty much quoting Insidia.

And as for Wakana, Stone Cold definitely! Always been, always will!

Keiko- straight long hair flowing all down! Oh, and I love the occasional ponytail she sports. (The one in my signature)

Wakana- straight long hair! Her ponytail is nice, too. Stone cold's my favourite! (Both avatar and signature's styles are nice too.)

Hikaru- her current shorter straight hair is nice, although I wouldn't say no to the straight long hair she has as well. I also like her Moonfesta PV style sans hair accessory. (Both avatar and signature's styles are nice too.)

Yuuka- Curly long hair, straight long hair (I love her Kouya Ruten and the Bloody Holic ones).

Kaori- What she sports during Stone Cold.

Yuriko- I don't recall her changing her hairstyle drastically, and it looks good now, so I wouldn't recommend a drastic switch..

今日のゲストは、深まる秋の雰囲気にぴったりの素敵な女性たち、Kalafinaのみなさんでした。
彼女たちが主題歌を担当している、『劇場版 魔法少女まどか☆マギカ ［新編］叛逆の物語』が、なんと今週の興行成績ナンバー１！
すさまじい反響は、主題歌にも及んでいます。
主題歌「君の銀の庭」は、なんとワルツ調。
先月リリースされたばかりのシングル「アレルヤ」(こちらは劇場版「空の境界　未来福音」の主題歌)は、荘厳な中にも、ハードな息づかいが聞こえる曲。
どちらの曲もハイレベルで、歌う時にすごく神経を使うというか、安定した気持ちじゃないと歌えないんじゃないかな？と思っていたのですが、
Kalafinaのみなさん、「その通りです！」と口を揃え、ご本人たちも、「むずかしいんです(笑)」とおっしゃってました。
「でも、三人で歌えることが楽しい！」んだそうです。３人の気持ちが一つになって、あのハーモニーが生まれているんですね。
今日のテーマ「せっかち」の話になると、雰囲気は一変、かしましい状態に！
そもそも、Kalafinaのみなさんは、「おっとり」派と思っていたら、「自動ドアを早く開けるため、先に手を出す」というWakanaさんや、
「向こう側があると思って、洋服屋さんの鏡に激突した」Keikoさん、
「急いでる時だけ、忍者みたいな速さ？」というHikaruさん。
実は、意外と三人三様にせっかち（どちらかというと、おっちょこちょい？）な
Kalafinaのみなさんでした！
さて、次回（11/9）のゲストは、パワカン初登場の、山崎あおいさん。
新曲「恋の予感」をもって、登場してくれます。

wakana needs to wear more dresses as for keiko.... i just have this thing where i really hate suspenders when they're not worn properly e.g. on the shoulders goddammit arghhhhhhhh and even when she does wear them properly a la radio pic with eir aoi it just looks so weird on a female body, you know what i mean...?
