12) Materialise - THIS SONG SENDS CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE :swt: /me bows down to Yuriko

ACtually Chibi-chibi said wakana sang most of the main vocal in Materialise... Yuriko only sang the beginning.. :tea:

YURIKO sang the main melody and Wakana was more apparent in the middle, but only as part of the harmony. Here, I listened to it again and it went like this:

first min YURIKO (main)
after that it was 30 sec harmony (all the girls)
then YURIKO again
then refrain - harmony
YURIKO
Koichi solo
harmony
YURIKO

Technically there was harmony in the entire thing, but YURIKO is the main vocalist in that.

I've always loved MATERIALISE, especially from the very beginning where it "zips" into the bell-tower BWOONNNGGG! It does give you goose bumps, especially when you turn up the speakers. The live was very spectacular with that. I turned it up in my car and let my niece and nephew hear it. They got goose bumps, too! :XD:

It's surely Wakana on most parts... I recognized her voice that's similar to the one in Liminality :tea:

Then listen to the original MATERIALISE by Yuri Kasahara and you'll see which parts Yuri was main (which was most of it), and you'll see that Yuriko was taking her place.

That could explain why the middle sounds more... Ugh, I can't think of the word. Well, Wakana doesn't sing with an open voice like Yuriko does, and the middle doesn't sound as "natural" as when Yuriko sings high notes. And some of the really high notes were a tiny bit flat.
If Wakana was the one singing, well... I don't know why they didn't just use Yuriko. Yuriko's open chorus-like voice is better suited. Oh, and her vibrato.

Now that I'm listening closer, I can really hear Wakana more after 1:12.

Did Chibi-Chibi see them or something?

Yes, she had gone at the concert.
:uh..: I wish I could... :wai: :wai: :wai: :wai: :wai:

On a different note, listening to the CDs now. Just got it today. All I can say so far is . . . :dote:

I'm especially liking the stuff that wasn't released on DVD. Let's hope for a Vol. 6 DVD. That would be awesome.

I think Materialise was quite equally shared between Yuriko and Wakana, and they probably switched like that, because ... this song is just really difficult. It looked really tiring for them and they were straining themselves to sing it.

It pretty much was. Yuriko sang the first minute, and the last minute, and sang all of the choruses. I can't imagine trying to sing that for five minutes straight if you aren't an opera song.

exactly. Although you can't really hear where is who if it's only audio... :blood:

Uguu... I don't have mine yet. Why can't it be delivered faster? heh Materialise sounds like it's going to be amazing though.

It's not that hard really. Their vibratos are pretty different.
It's not hard if you have a good sound system. I'm listening again with my better speakers and audio crystalizers turned on. It's a little more noticeable who's singing now.

Wouldn't have noticed if I wasn't paying really close attention. :tea:

Were Keiko/Kaori singing back-up for Materialise or was it just Yuriko and Wakana alone? They went off-stage?
