Yeah, she nailed that. I liked hearing her singing again, and especially her confident stability in her chest voice and its strength, even though she was using breathy singing to lighten the weight. We know she can belt with more power!
An important part of being a soul-inspired singer are the vocal choices. She was doing vocal glides and mini-swells and moving around with the vocals, though didn't go 100%. Definitely not a pop singer

(doesn't mean she can't imitate pop stylings if needed, but it's not her foundation)!
I am really curious about her
singing with Joelle and Keiko, who have both had exposure with soul-related singing, including jazz for years - Joelle more than Kaori in my opinion, since Kaori was really young and sang as part of an ensemble without really understanding what she was singing at the time.
Emiko's first lead is what I'm waiting to see. I wonder if the new song from Kajiura would be an Emiko lead. Can Kajiura utilize the full power of Emiko's voice and experience? Well, only as far as it fits within
Kajiura World.
I still think the place to see Emiko's entire singing ability in a solo context would be on the theatre stage.
