Some one on tumblr went to the concert and wrote some highlights:
- Kalafina gliding in and curtseying to the audience gracefully, like princesses, their long red gowns sweeping the stage. So, so gorgeous
- seriously, those gowns. The ladies made such a beautiful sight. Keiko’s gestures flourishes became even more dramatic with that outfit haha,
- oh, in case anyone was wondering, Hikaru had her normal short hairstyle, not the ikemen one
- the Symphony Hall’s acoustics. Keiko’s voice carried especially well. And the harmonies sounded absolutely breathtaking
- dolce! Heavenly. I honestly nearly cried
- Hokage was so haunting my heart hurt
- and ring your bell and Gogatsu no Mahou and far on the water aaaaaaaaahhhh I was so looking forward to these and they were better than I imagined
- The best version of We Wish You A Merry Christmas I have ever heard. Awesome arrangement. Slowed down. Overlapping vocals. Three-part harmonies galore. WAKANA’S UPPER HARMONY OMG. Like an angelic choir trio. I never thought this song could sound so powerful
- Their version of Jingle Bells was really fun. Their singing style (particularly Hikaru’s) sounded almost jazzy. I liked how some parts were soft (pianissimo? Is that the term?) and then the song rose again
- the ladies standing back to back facing the audience, and gliding around in a circle throughout Eden, with some twirling. With the dresses, the effect was incredibly lovely
- Kizuato! Hearing Hikaru’s falsetto for myself. Somehow I was never completely sure if she really did sing falsetto live
- I thought Wakana was decent enough on Hikari Furu. But then some of her high notes toward the end took my breath away
- believe with just piano accompaniment during the encore. Very pretty
I'm imagining believe sounds really nice with the piano, no matter how much I hate that song every song is better with piano accompaniment
