^Very cool, I think she does a good job. I wish she would do a song with Yuki though. that would be awesome. heh

@george, it does come out today. If I get it today I will scan in the booklet. But I doubt it since it was just shipped 2 days ago.

On that song, maybe, but there are others she does quite well. [/size]

Having heard her on Animelo livestream, ANIMAX MUSIX (and some other shows of the same kin) I'd argue that statement but since it's a Kajiura board I won't. :]

PS: That acoustic was horrible, I can't listen to it <o_o>

Oh, I didn't know you were talking about her singing ability. I basically have no clue about that. Sorry

Hmm, I see a new bassist credited :ayashii:

Annani issho datta noni ~acoustic version by Minori Chihara in ANIMAX MUSIX 2011

If you guys have interest in it...

Thanks. To me, the original See-Saw version of Annani issho datta noni (eg the PV at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rS0Qxy6RTmg ) shows off some very good vocal technique in the verses, and the song gains from Chiaki-san's more experienced performance with 5-string bass guitar at Animelo Summer Live 2006 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVccgQ1_1Cw ). Kalafina's Animax Fall 2010 performance ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1CH9rTx7Hc ) is a good 3-part version, with the addition of violin but without the deep bass sound and without Chiaki-san's distinctive vocal style.

The Animax Musix 2011 version with Minorin is very different again, with the classical guitar. The audio quality of the clip doesn't help, but Minori Chihara is quite comfortable with acoustic performances and was well-prepared. If she'd sung the song as part of the acoustic set that will appear on videos with special versions of her forthcoming album, it would have been more enjoyable.

I've probably made it clear in the forum before that I hate the quality of Animax videos compared with Animelo Summer Live videos. Nonetheless some performances like the Kalafina Animax Fall 2010 performance still came off very well.

I would guess due to Chiaki-san's contribution of a song composition to Minorin's forthcoming D-Formation album that they might have met and worked with the arrangement of Annani issho datta noni that Minorin performed at Animax Musix 2011. All of the See-Saw/Chiaki Ishikawa, Kalafina and Minori Chihara performances bring something new to the song. My preference as someone who is both a Minori Chihara and Chiaki Ishikawa fan is that Chiaki-san's Animelo Summer Live 2006 is one of the most hauntingly beautiful, but that doesn't detract from the Kalafina and Minori Chihara versions.

^ Thanks for the vid

First, the intro is making it sound like Spanish Dance songs (Even her dress almost matches the style). In fact the whole song somewhat Spanish to me lol. I have never thought this song can be arrange like this and still pleasant to our ears. I liked the guitars very much. A surprise to me here.

Then its Minori's voice, I don't know if she deliberately do this or its actually her normal voice, she sounded especially flat & 'compressed', like voice acting an anime. I don't like that especially its backed by guitars, making sound even more weird. With acoustic guitars I think I am expecting a more natural, rounded voice for this and Minori just somehow got it wrong (in my mind).
That said, as already mentioned above, she is well-prepared and still shows her usual stability in performance.

After last year with Kalafina and 06' with Chiaki, it just feels weird. Its not like its lacking power (Hikaru really did it last year) or she's off pitch or sth. She just doesn't blend in. It was a fresh idea making it acoustic, but it wasn't well executed.

PS: I noticed she wears IEM, maybe Kalafina should do this every single live performance so they can improve their performance in terms of stability...

Checking on Chiaki Ishikawa's Animelo Summer Live performances, 2010 appeared to be the first time that she used an in-ear-monitor (IEM). I think that Minori Chihara was using them most of the time in live performances that I have seen.

Chiaki-san can work with the acoustic of Saitama Super Arena and get the best out of it. You have to be there to appreciate it.

Obviously because AnimeLo is released on beautifully postprocessed DVD/BD and you haven't heard the livestream they had one year.

Thanks for the link. The arrangement is nice, but the girl's voice is just horrible. God, it sounds so awful :uh..:

...I was afraid to listen to this version and I should have refrained myself from listening to it. Her voice is terrible. Chihara, please continue to be a VA and just that.
