I also love FictionJunction live performances more, another thing for me is also the chemistry and the magic of the girls I think.

@Cerise: They performed Lirica in...10 different events, mostly the Progressive tour and 2010 Asia tour. Basically they performed it from when Storia came out to when Red Moon came out, since the Red Moon songs took over from then on.

They performed Utsukushisa a lot in the Progressive tour too...although that doesn't really count, since that Yuki guy was on guitar then. :uh..:

I think that the difference between FJ and Kala performances is another effect of their record companies...Sony seems to want Kala to be a mysterious, exotic and beautiful group, which means little to no dancing aside from the terribly over-exaggerated choreography in Fairytale and such. FJ is really more of a Kajiura-sensei cover group, since they've performed a lot more soundtrack songs than tracks from their singles, so it seems like they're allowed more of a casual image. Plus, FJ doesn't have a choreographer credited in their booklet, unlike Kala. :ayashii:

^ ahhh thank you for the info ...but does that mean...not a single lirica or utsukushisa live has ever been recorded?? :omg:

And my friend always says when she watches Kalafina lives she has to replay the video twice: once for the singing, second time for watching Hikaru because she is so melodramatic :XD:

EDIT: KP-X LOL :ohoho: (but I somewhat agree with you)

Yup. :rain:

@KP-X: Her, actually! :ohoho:
Her profile says that she got interested in dance after watching Flashdance, went to dance school while performing in other places, and is now working as an instructor and dancer.

^LMAO! Now that I've seen her in such a pose, I can see why their performances are like THAT! AHUAHUAHUAHUA

^ Yeah, I don't think her style of choreography fits Kala at all. :...:

^ i think rather than the style, it's how their movements are complete over-dramatised :uh..: the same movements but toned down and made subtle would probably work better...

I wonder how the Kala girls feel about their own choreo...do they ever get embarrassed by the poses/moves they have to do?

I know they're supposed to radiate the 'cool/mysterious' aura but sometimes I think they get the complete reverse effect because their moves are so ove-dramatic...like first time I saw that mini dance in the instrumental bit of Magia I couldn't help but burst out laughing...and when my friend (who is Indian) watched TetoTe she literally facedesked...(this same friend told me when she watches Kalafina lives, she always has to watch them twice: first time for the singing, second time for watching Hikaru mega-angsting, especially in Lacrimosa)

I think subtle is better for being mysterious... :uh..: or just scrap the choreographer and let the girls go with the flow (I don't think it's that hard to act according to the mood of the song once you get into it especially if you're singing...but then this experience comes from ridiculous karaoke parties with friends, so...)

And better still, use the extra money to produce more new Kalafina songs, CDs/DVDs, concerts...or donate it to making new FictionJunction stuff

Thank you. It upsets me that they haven't performed it at all since Red Moon came out. I think it fits with the theme of Red Moon; maybe even After Eden, considering some of the songs. :uh..:

My ideal tracklist would've been the 11 songs we haven't heard live from After Eden (9 new ones + symphonia and snow falling), seventh heaven, lirica, utsukushisa, adore, Ashita no Keshiki, serenato, I have a dream, Kizuato, progressive, and Gloria (just for the sake of hearing it live; I don't like how Hikaru sounds on the recording).

As for choreography, I agree with Cerise. :V:

The only one reason I still want to watch Magia live is....we haven't had the good singing+good violin&guitar solo..... ...(so...I hope I can get it in this live....plzzzz... :knife: .)

It was in the Anime Boston documentary during rehearsals, wasn't it? Hmm or was that something else...

Well, they are called "YUKI KAJIURA LIVE" not "FICTIONJUNCTION LIVE". Wait til FJ have more original songs...

Hikaru is fierce and you people will deal :sparkleguy:

In all honesty though, I like songs like Storia and Sprinter where the girls can loosen up a bit, but given the image of the group it's understandable that they have to be cool. I think the one who does it best is Keiko who is just magnificent. I love Hikaru's dramatic posing though, it doesn't seem fake to me because HIKARU IS FULL OF FEELINGS OK?

It's funny how they go from super angsty and dramatic to being their usual selves in the MCs, Wakana being supper peppy, Keiko being awesome and Hikaru being all shy and withdrawn. I love this contrast!

And on topic: I'm soooooooo buying this! So excited OMG! I've watched their Red Moon live a million times already :dote:

I wish that I remembered how they did Magia at Animelo Summer Live 2011 - the videos should be out in March or April going on past years' record. I *do* remember enjoying their performance highly.

I'm buying this but we'll see later.

I'm not sure if it's the fault of the choreographer or the girls for the silly, stiff movement. Could be the girls, honestly, since they weren't trained to dance. Well Keiko did but her movement isn't any better than the other two. :tea:

No, you're right; it was Gloria, but the documentary had only Wakana and Keiko's part, not Hikaru's, if I remember correctly.

It might've only been like, 30 secs, but I think Wakana and Keiko sounded better in Gloria in the documentary than in the recording.
