You know, it's really difficult to get a decent impression of the music in this show because of how quiet it is...
I've not checked Chapter 2 or 1 since they came out but I remember really not caring for the music in the 2nd one - it just seemed way too dank.
From what you posted Chapter 3 seems to have some neat ideas mixed in, even if the full tracks might still end up on the boring side. Even the opening credits strings have some non-current-standard-Kajiura things going on there. That piano loop at 3m and 4m15 in #6 (holy shit are those strings dramatic for the scene compared to the rest of the show, lol). That jazzyish piano/harp/xylophone instrumental against standard strings in #11 shadows&fog arrange certainly feels more specific to the PriPri world. Hopefully #12 is longer on OST.

It doesn't sound half bad. Though I think one theme, featured in #5, is a slight (perhaps fairly obvious, even) loan from Gustav Holst's "Planets," specifically the poem "I Vow to Thee My Country".

I've always loved YK's cello arrangements. Actually, I can't think of a single piece by YK for cello that fails.

I wonder why they choose movies over TV anime though, do they earn more 💰 that way ?
It was same for SAO Progressive, AoT etc.

In case of PriPri these 6 movies are basically equal to a single cour TV show and they can produce them one at a time, release, milk. They don't have a deadline to have the whole thing ready and they don't have to go through a TV station, which might mean more for the studio? Don't know if it really does but I would imagine so - they are still continuing.

It just sucks for us that we have to wait so long for this OST... and it's not like it's going to be a super long one, 'cause this isn't entirely filmscored and reuses tracks from the TV show and previous movies. I hope it's longer but chances are it's just going to be 2CD...

And "fairy game" not getting a single is the one thing that I'm angry about with YK, HS, Lantis.
 
Yea each movie seems to have 3-4 new tracks at most. Kajiura has probably finished with it since 2019 or does a few tracks each time. I suppose fairy game will be released inside the ost like it happened with Wakana's Hikari no Yukue or in FJ album like Kaori's Hanamori no Oka. The worse part is she cant perform it live either 🙄
 
Oh well its been ages since i watched the movies so i totally forgot 😅they re saddly nothing special plot wise so you dont feel like watching again and again. Feels like K-ON meets victorian era.
 
Well, the BGM isn't much to be hyped about either from what I remember... XD
Still... want it all. Might feel better on CD than in movies, too - the sound effects are so obnoxiously loud in the movie 5.1 mix...

Thankfully they released that new "shadows and fog" via bluray menus...
