In case anyone also owns the physical limited edition of the Heaven's Feel concert: Do you have any difficulty with the blu-ray playback?

My pc (equipped with a blu-ray drive) can't play the disc. Notably, the disc appears as "BDROM" in the explorer, while usually they have a name specific to the content of the disc. I've never had any playback problems with any other BD release from japan so far, so I fear I received a defective disc out of the box. Unfortunately, I don't own a dedicated BD player, so I can't test with a different drive...

Sorry. Live releases are unfortunately at the bottom of my priority list (unless it's something I really like/want). :(

By the way, if you don't mind me asking, I know nothing of bluray playback on PC but how do you play them directly on your PC? I always rip/decrypt them... :|

No problem, I'm just trying to figure out whether this is an isolated problem on my side or maybe they produced a bad batch or something.

I'm using PowerDVD 19. Kind of a garbage program and not free, but it has always done the job. Since it's not the newest version anymore I'm wondering whether maybe this BD is using a newer version of copy protection that is not supported anymore?... Then again, it can totally play newer releases such as Dune Part 2 for example, so I'm not sure about that.

I've never ripped BD's, so I'm on the other hand quite clueless about that. Maybe I should try to do that and see whether I can access the video file this way...

Maybe they finally started region locking?
(But I don't know how a bluray in a different region would behave, not enough experience wiht it on my end.)

I'm using makemkv (and from what I'm seeing a lot of people are too), it's free in beta.

I highly doubt that. It would be marked somewhere on the disc and on the packaging.

Also, I basically got a crash while loading the disc. If it was a different region it would give you a warning that the disc cannot be played in your region, I think.

Thanks for the reference. I'll try it out.

Edit: I tried it and I get the following error: The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Updating the hashkey library didn't help...

At least it does seem to be an encryption problem.

True. I get you.

I first knew of his existence from the tracks he wrote for AoT which were impactful to me because I first heard them in the context of that anime, and the gripping characters, scenes, and contexts.

Also got to be a fan of his singers on those songs - Gemie, Tielle, Eliana - with Mizuki rising to the top.

He's not as compositionally varied as Kajiura in the breadth of his music, I will say, think he hasn't had as long a career, to be fair.
I was too hasty, I DO have the Seraph of the End OP and ED EP on CD by Sawano :ohoho: I haven't listened to it much but it's a solid title! Sawano, hold on I'm coming for you lol!! 😂 Truthfully, it's a very nice album by him. I didn't remember it was this good.

Not with PowerDVD 19 unfortunately. Looks like they are not providing the older versions of Power DVD with new keys anymore... They want to force you to pay for an upgrade to a newer version.:voodoo:

But I also tried the Leawo Blu-ray player (which is actually for free, but shows ads when you pause) and there it now works as well while it didn't on tuesday. It seems clear to me, that they added the key to the haskey list in the meantime and maybe leawo and makemkv use the same source?

Still, stupid copy protection, honestly! If I buy a blu-ray I should be able to play it immediately, and not have to wait for a week. As an owner of media, you have less and less rights nowadays while having to pay more and more for it. Looking also at you, gaming industry!
