Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.#9

Came back from Nihon yesterday. Many thanks for the recorded stream - Day 1 was the only one I didn't manage to get the tickets for. I wish I knew they would sell extra tickets on the day itself but oh well. Random notes/impressions:

- I haven't noticed any cameras on Day 2 and 3, so I don't think there will be any (official) recordings of those, which is a pity
- there were plenty of cameras at Shibuya so a DVD of that seems highly likely
- however the violinist was different from the first three days, and flute parts were prerecorded; this was somewhat disappointing
- on day 2 Kajiura made a mistake when introducing band members; on day 3 when introducing the girls, and in Shibuya she said "ojiichan ni natte mo" instead of "obaachan". The way she grabbed her head each time was very cute.
- for each day, she had a question she asked the singers and band members
- for day 1 "what is your favorite Japanese [phrase/word]"
- for day 2 "how did you decide/happen to pursue music professionally". Most of the answers were pretty straightforward, so I don't remember the specifics (only that Katou-san went to Paris to study accordion because there were no schools in Japan). However Kajiura herself spoke at some length about "First Love", which was her first instrumental-only track and how she realized that songs without words is music too.
- for day 3 "what was your mikkabouzu (something you try to do for three days and give up)", since it was the third day. One of the guests (I think Tomaru-san) said she couldn't learn to ride a bicycle, and another (Kasahara-san?) tried to start jogging but gave up. Kajiura was like "hey, how many of you haven't even tried starting it?" and when majority of the audience raised hands, "how nice, you're all my comrades!".
- for Shibuya it was "what special thing happened to you this year". Junior had a daughter born, and Keiko (? I think) had her sister married just the previous day; she sang a Kalafina song at the wedding (sorry I forgot which).
- Kajiura called Konno-san's violin sound "eroi" (erotic/sexy) and referred to the day 3 setlist as "do es" (very sadistic) since the latter part included a lot of up-tempo songs and everyone was standing up and clapping.
- Day 2's M33 did not have a title because Kajiura doesn't make titles until it's time to make the soundtrack CD. She said she thought about creating the title for the concert but in the end decided to announce it as is.
- Shibuya's encore wait was super long. I didn't time it but it felt like at least 7 minutes. My hands started to hurt from the clapping.
- among the goods there was a T-shirt for all days and limited T-shirts specific to each day. The T-shirt for Shibuya had lyrics from Credens justitiam on it.

What?! :swt:
This means that the release either as bundle with BD /DVD or as standalone is still not decided ? :uh..:
Then what about KnK ? Before the collection release all tracks were with M[+number] :XD:
Do you remember which of the SAO songs it was :confu:
Did Keiko sung this song or her sister, at the wedding ? (imo it has to be symphonia) :ayashii:
Thanks for the report!! :sohappy:

It's so pity that they didn't have the camera on Day 2&3... Eri's&Yuri's tracks must be epic....>_____<. (I think we have all Hanae's songs in Day3 in Shibuya, right?) Ok...wait for DVD...^ ^...it's surely better than nothing..!!!!

According to Tou, she sang Mune no Yukue, Hikari no Senritsu, and another one. Kajiura's a bit surprised Keiko decided to sing Kalafina's song for her sister's wedding because it's Kalafina, and most of the songs are dark and tragic. But those songs are requested by her sister. And those are some of "lighter-themed" Kalafina songs :XD:

The most important thing is :
HOW I WANT TO HEAR KEIKO SING HIKARI NO SENRITSU SOLO.

O0O. With 6 cameras, there's a high chance that the Shibuya live will come out on DVD. Unless they pull a Live #5 on us again. :ohoho: :ohoho: :ohoho: But I'd rather have Day 2&3 than Asuka and Everlasting Song (again). Man that is one overused song.

I hope for a DVD/BD.

I would have been on heaven if Nanri-san was at Kajiura's live.

By the way, here is a little message from Kato-san on her blog about the event
http://ameblo.jp/aira-yuuki/entry-11350939721.html

It is not the right topic (so be free to delete this post if you think you should do) but an update of the profile of Kajiura's vocalist should be done :
- For Asuka Kato, we should specify she is working know under the name "Yuuki Aira" , she shares a radio program with Nanri Yuuka-san and her new blog site is http://ameblo.jp/aira-yuuki/
- For Yuuka Nanri, we could specify her blog address http://ameblo.jp/nanri-yuuka/ and update the profile ( radio program with Kato-san, the fairy~ albums, her solo album...)

Thank you for recording and for the reports. Vol#9 was a great live, with great setlist and great guest vocalists. Stone Cold and Eternal Blue is my favourite, Yuki singing along with Kaori gave me another heart attack. Wakana was just fine, I just pity her when almost all the dudes here bash her. >_<

Yes I had those in mind but I always end up forgetting about them ^^; Also, more suitable topic would be this one viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1676&start=150

My late report for Day 2:

Stage set up :
Keyboard and drum take up their usual places. Bass, violin and guitar move forward to take up the space of Wakana, Keiko and Kaori.

New arrangement :
Canta per me (accordion solo)
Romance (the part that guitar and accordion plays together)
I talk to the rain (if I remember correct, a guiter solo)
Voice silently sing (flute replaced sax)
A farewell song (adding flute and violin to the original long intro version)

Overall impression : a great concert with great musicians, all the soundtrack are beautifully played and Ito Eri's singing is so beautiful.
All the audiences stood up to give them applause at the end.

^ same here!

[EDIT]
I just wanted to point out that the kajiurago at the end of Hikari no Yukue's live version are not "new", they are just from the next track of the OST titled "love and fate - YURIA #2" so Yuki just combined the 2 songs.

This blog (which has usual update on Kajiura and Madoka goodies) has photos of the 3 day special goodies including a sweet?! :sohappy: , pages from the FJ Press and the concert pamphlet .

From the FJ Press I have to say Kajiura's pose and expression here cracks me up :XD: she looks disappointed

That's from Fatality. The new kajiurago is when all girls are singing.

Kaze no Machi e live. Yaay! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Keiko's voice in the original version of that song sounds lighter and more mellow than the live version.
Keiko put too much power in her singing in the live version, but I'm happy enough to hear the live version of Kaze no Machi e :XD:

Hopefully, there will be DVD for this live concert.
:sohappy:

@Boblove: Thanks for the pic! I love it. I want the magazine now. heh (When will Yuki look up again like she did for Fiction 2? Will we have to wait for another cd? lol)

@crystalpink: I agree. I love the original (even played it for a violin recital) but I think for the live maybe it would be too hard to hear if she kept it too soft. It is a pretty quiet song to begin with.
