Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.#22 ~precious pieces~ July 4 - Aug 23 2026 & Asia Tour (Oct 31-Nov 27)

Does it say that really?
I'm interpreting my ggl translation of that tweet as her hyping up latest tracks being included in the broadcast.

A description of FictionJunction in response to a question "How many members are in Fiction Junction?" on an FJ YouTube short (both from Japanese it seemed, so translated):
https://www.youtube.com/@ぴくぴく人参
"It's a name that refers to Yuki Kajiura's musical activities, so strictly speaking, it's one person. The name likely meant something like "creation and intersection," where Kajiura creates music, and her collaborators, who usually pursue their own individual musical activities, intersect during live performances and recordings to enjoy music together, and then return to their daily lives afterward."

The part about collaborators pursuing their own musical activities only became 100% true (for the regular singers) after Kajiura's "going solo" herself.

google TL of Kajiura's blog post from March 24, 2003

"Songs featuring vocals are often released under the name of the vocalist who performs them. In the future, if I am commissioned to write a song tailored to a specific person’s image, I will likely provide it under the name "Yuki Kajiura." However, in cases where I initiate the composition process myself—crafting the song first and then selecting a vocalist whose style fits my vision—it wouldn't quite feel right to release it under the vocalist's name.

For songs of that nature, I’m thinking of releasing them under the name "Fiction Junction featuring." In short, this is the name for Yuki Kajiura’s solo project. It would be great to eventually release an album under the Fiction Junction name, too. (A bit premature, considering there’s only one song so far!)"

?

I don't know if I'm reading you right, are you implying Kaori for example had no autonomy (from YK) in her solo career since 2005?

Oh no. What I meant was that the original text I quoted implied that Kajiura's concept of FictionJunction was to work with people who were active in their solo careers and only came in for the junction of the fiction. That only became true when Kajiura herself became a fully "solo" act (self-managed or having a self-directed career is what I define as "solo" in this case).

In the early days, both Kaori (and maybe to a lesser extent, Yuriko?) were active in a solo context while being with FJ, while Keiko and Wakana were not, and Wakana only became solo-active after Kajiura went "solo". Same with Keiko.

Of course, since then Joelle came on, and of course everyone else (rito, LL, Emiko) who all had solo careers prior to coming on to FJ.

I think you're overthinking it. I'm honestly confused about what you're trying to say.

Feel free to clear up my misunderstandings or any facts/correlations I'm remembering wrong.

Did Kaori have an illustrious solo career outside of SanHora when she started working with YK ("tsubasa" in 2005)? Unless, rather than their debut with YK/FJ, do you mean the lives & "Parallel Hearts"+ era of FictionJunction? In that case Wakana and Keiko already were doing Kalafina at the same time so uh? And when Keiko and Wakana didn't know if Kalafina would continue beyond KNK they DID try branching out. We wouldn't have gotten Azuki Hino songs without Keiko trying... but then Kalafina continued...

PS. rito had a solo career prior to FJ? Serious question.

Also I think the youtube link you posted has no comments that we can address in any discussion.

edit:
Looking at vgmdb at least, it seems "tsubasa" was before SanHora even and Kaori had performed on one song in 2002 prior to that.
