さて、少し前になりますが、
四月から放映のアニメーション「MADLAX」の音楽をほぼ作り終えました。

作品の方は、何を書いてもネタバレになってしまいそうで‥‥作中ＢＧＭも、「こんな感じで作りました」と書くこと自体ネタバレになってしまいそうで、作品共々お楽しみ頂ける事を祈っております‥‥としか申し上げられませんが、個人的に頂く本がとても面白くて、続きが気になって仕方がありませぬ。どうなるんだ～～！

まずＣＤの形で皆様に聴いて頂けるのは、５/８発売のFictionJunction YUUKA のシングル、「瞳の欠片」でしょうか。YUUKAさんと音を作らせて頂くのは昨年の「暁の車」以来になりますが、彼女の声は私の「好み」どんぴしゃなんでございますよ。聴いているだけで切なくなるリリカルな声。暁の車の時も、歌い手さんに限定がなかった状態であったからこそ彼女を呼びました。

このFictionJunctionプロジェクトは、「梶浦プロデュース」ではございません。梶浦由記プロジェクト、と言った方がいいのかな。彼女の為に書いている曲ではありません。あくまで梶浦由記の曲を‥‥当然作品に付随した曲である以上、「梶浦由記」以外に作品世界に寄った要素もずいぶんと入っては来ますが‥‥表現してくれる歌い手さんとして、YUUKAさんと一緒にやっている、という関係です。きっと彼女の為に、彼女の魅力をもっと魅せたい、もしくは彼女の音楽的好みを重視して音楽を作れば全く違う形になってくるのでしょうが、このプロジェクトではそういう形を取るつもりはありません。（そうするとしたらFictionJunctionを取って「YUUKA」だけでやるでしょうし）プロデュースにはプロデュースの別途の楽しみがあり、自分プロジェクトの楽しみとは全く違う感じでございますね。

YUUKAさんとの歌録りはなかなか面白いです。いつもニコニコ微笑んでいる（というか箸が転げても可笑しいらしいYUUKAちゃん）彼女のパーソナリティーは、FictionJunctionのどちらかと言えば暗めな歌詞世界とは、かなり接点無い気がします（笑）。でも歌っちゃう。録音ブースの中でがっつん歌い上げてるYUUKAさんの歌声に聞き惚れ、ブースから出てきたにこにこYUUKAちゃんと出会うと、さすが女優さんと申しますか。何故あんなに明るい性格なのに、声があんなに哀しいのか（笑）。何より「その曲」の持つ雰囲気や感情を掴む能力がピカ一。さっと聴いた瞬間に、歌詞の内容とかメロディーがマイナーかメジャーかとか‥‥そういった理屈の部分より、本能で彼女は歌を掴んでいるという気がしますね。尤も歌い手さんが歌を「掴む」やり方は色々で、どれが優れている劣っているという話ではなく、彼女は本能で、理屈でなく歌をげっちゅーして行くタイプなんじゃないかな、と。

元々彼女との初めてのお付き合いは舞台で、今回の歌録りでも半ばふざけて「そこでピンスポ当たって散歩前に出て歌う感じ、間奏開けで照明はオレンジから一転してブルー、背景の役者さん達はストップモーション！　な感じでお願い（笑）」なーんて「舞台設定遊び？」をしてみたら、あまりに鮮やかに歌い方が変わり、さすが元舞台の方。と舌を巻いてしまう１幕もございました。

5/8発売シングルのカップリングは「nowhere」という曲。これはおそらく作品中で挿入歌として使われる‥‥筈の‥‥曲でございます。また、今回の作品では、作中のBGMでもYUUKAさんに数曲歌って頂いています。そういう意味では今回のサウンドトラックは、梶浦由記+FictionJunction YUUKAとも言えるのかも。作品内BGMで、そしてシングル、カップリングで、また今回のシングルには収録されませんが、作品のエンディングで、YUUKAさんの歌声を堪能して頂ければと思っております。

FictionJunction、梶浦由記プロジェクトの活動は、どういう形でかは分かりませんが、FictionJunction単体として、あるいは今回のように他のどなたかをフィーチャリングした形で、地味に（笑）続けて行ければいいなあと思っております。いつかこっそり自主制作版なんかも出せたらいいなあ。また、今回YUUKAさんに加わって頂いた形での「FictionJunction YUUKA」としても、この先もっと色々やって行きたいなあという気持ちがございます。「やりたいやりたい」な話ばかりで申し訳なくもありますが、とりあえず今回の「FictionJunction YUUKA」プロジェクト第二弾、作品「MADLAX」と共に可愛がって頂ければと祈るばかりです。

MADLAX & FictionJunction YUUKA

Well, it was a while ago, but
I've almost finished composing the music for the anime "MADLAX," which will begin airing in April.

As for the work, anything I write about it would be a spoiler... And as for the background music, even saying "I made it like this" would be a spoiler, so I hope you enjoy both the work and the music... That's all I can say, but personally, I found the book I received so interesting, and I can't help but wonder what happens next. I wonder what will happen next!

The first CD you'll be able to hear will be FictionJunction YUUKA's single, "Hitomi no Kakera," on sale May 8th. This is the first time I've worked with YUUKA on music since last year's "Akatsuki no Kuruma," and her voice is exactly what I like. It's a lyrical voice that makes me sad just listening to it. For "Akatsuki no Kuruma," I called on her because there were no restrictions on the singer.

This FictionJunction project is not "produced by Kajiura." Perhaps it's better to call it a Kajiura Yuki project. I'm not writing these songs for her. They're purely Kajiura Yuki songs... Naturally, since they're songs that accompany the work, there are many elements that are more relevant to the world of the work than just "Kajiura Yuki" itself... But my relationship with YUUKA is that I'm working with her as a singer who expresses her. I'm sure if I were to create music for her, focusing on showcasing her charms or prioritizing her musical preferences, it would take on a completely different form, but that's not how I intend to do this project. (If I did, I'd probably drop FictionJunction and just go with "YUUKA.") Producing has its own unique joys, which are completely different from the joys of my own projects.

Recording songs with YUUKA is quite fun. Her personality, always smiling (or rather, apparently even a tumble of chopsticks is funny), seems quite disconnected from FictionJunction's rather dark lyrical world (lol). But she still sings. I was captivated by YUUKA's voice as she belted out in the recording booth, and when I met her smiling face as she emerged from the booth, I was amazed at how much of an actress she really is. I wonder why her voice is so sad despite her cheerful personality (lol). Above all, her ability to grasp the atmosphere and emotions of "the song" is unmatched. The moment she listens, she can tell the content of the lyrics or whether the melody is minor or major... I get the feeling that she grasps the song instinctively, rather than relying on logic like that. Of course, there are many different ways singers "grasp" a song, and it's not a question of which is better or worse, but I think she's the type who gets the song instinctively, without logic.

My first relationship with her was on stage, and when we were recording the song this time, I was half-jokingly saying, "I want it to feel like I'm spotted there and going out to sing before a walk, and then at the interlude the lighting will change from orange to blue, and the background actors will be in stop motion! (laughs)" I was "playing around with the setting" like this, and her singing style changed so vividly that I was left speechless, thinking, "As expected of a former stage performer."

The coupling track on the single to be released on May 8th is "nowhere." This song is likely to be used as an insert song in the film... or is it supposed to be? YUUKA also sings several songs for the film's background music. In that sense, this soundtrack could be said to be Kajiura Yuki + FictionJunction YUUKA. I hope you can enjoy YUUKA's singing voice in the film's background music, on the single, the coupling track, and, although it won't be included on this single, in the ending theme.

I'm not sure what form the activities of FictionJunction and the Kajiura Yuki Project will take, but I hope to continue quietly (lol), either as FictionJunction alone, or as a feature of someone else like this time. I'd love to secretly release an independent version someday. Also, with YUUKA joining us this time as "FictionJunction YUUKA," I feel like I want to do even more in the future. I'm sorry to keep talking about things I want to do, but for now I hope that you will love this second installment of the "FictionJunction YUUKA" project, along with the work "MADLAX."

相変わらず家を離れている管理人でございます。

ただいま、四月からの深夜放映のアニメーション、「MADLAX」のサウンドトラックを作っております。

作中の音楽もですが、OPとEDは、FictionJunction YUUKA（前はfeaturingが入っていたんですが、長いので止めました

）で担当しております。「暁の車」に引き続く活動となりますか。曲は両方とも既にすっかり出来上がっております。皆様に作品と一緒に、聴いて頂けるのを楽しみにしております。
まずシングルが５/８に出るのかな？　番組も始まらないうちに少し気が早いですが。

サウンドトラックの方は鋭意製作中という所でしょうか。出来上がった曲も、そうでない曲もあり。楽しく作っております。

2003年12月28日(日) ガンダムSEED FESTIVAL

に、昨日27日、出演して参りました。
Fiction Junction featuring vocal YUUKAで「暁の車」を演奏し、
また田中理恵さんの歌われた「水の証」の後ろでピアノを弾いて参りました。
本当に沢山のガンダムSEEDファンの皆様の前で、
「Fiction Junction featuring vocal YUUKA」初の二人揃っての演奏をご披露する事が出来て、本当に嬉しく思っております。田中理恵さんの歌声もピュアでとても綺麗で、後ろでピアノを弾きながらほれぼれと聞き惚れておりました。

参加されたアーティストの皆様、声優の皆様、どのパフォーマンスも素晴らしく、参加させて頂いた私もとても楽しい一日でございました。ご声援頂いた皆様、また掲示板にてメッセージを下さった皆様、ありがとうございます！　嬉しく拝読させて頂いております。
私にとってもそうでありましたように、皆様にとっても素敵な一日となりました事を祈っております。

27日、フェスティバル打ち上げに参加させて頂いたあと、知人との忘年会に途中参加。「今日は都内からのタクシー帰宅にならないようにしよう

」と思っていたのですが、参加したのが既に１１時過ぎだったので

帰宅途中、冬の朝の済んだ空気のせいか富士山がとても近くに見えて。朝焼けに染まったピンクの富士は一瞬言葉を失うほど美しかった。我が街は東京郊外ですが、それでも富士山の見えるポイントは年々少なくなりつつあります。

さて、いよいよ今年も残すところあと数日。
皆様にとって2003はどんな歳でしたか？
来る2004、お互いに、充実した一年を過ごしたいものですよね。
梶浦の年末年始はひたすら家に籠もって曲作りでございます。こうして楽しくお仕事出来る年末、そして年明け、本当に幸福な事だなあと噛みしめながら。

どうぞ良い年の瀬をお過ごし下さいますよう。

「Fiction Junction」名義の活動をずっとやろうやろうと思いつつ、ドメインまで取っておきながら名前だけ状態がずっと続いていたんですが。
今回、機動戦士ガンダムSEEDの挿入歌という形で、初めてこの名義を使ってみました。

ウタモノってのはたいてい歌って頂くヴォーカルさんのお名前でリリースされる事が多くありまして、今後もどなたかに「依頼」されて、その方のイメージで曲を作った場合は「梶浦由記」名義で提供させて頂くと思うのですが、始めから梶浦由記主体で曲を作り、こちらでヴォーカルのイメージに合う方を選んでお願いして歌って頂いた場合、ヴォーカルさんのお名前で出すのも何か違うかなと。

そういった曲に関しては「Fiction Junction featuring

」の形でやって行こうかなと思っております。早い話、これは梶浦由記のソロプロジェクト名でございます。そのうちFiction Junction名義のアルバムなんかも出せたらいいなあ。（まだ一曲しか無いのに気が早い）

せっかくとったドメイン、FictionJunction.comも、今「あるだけ」な感じでございますので、そのうちちゃんと「Fiction Junction」の活動ページに出来たらいいなあと。（まだ一曲しかないのにやっぱり気が早い）

第一弾は、「暁の車」という曲。

YUUKAさんは、昔ミュージカルの舞台で何度も歌って貰った事がある南里侑香さんです。彼女の切ない声はとても好きで、そのうち一緒に何かやりたいと思っていたんだよね。
この曲は今後Victorさんからリリースされる、「機動戦士ガンダムSEED」関連CDのいずれかに収録する予定です。

I've always wanted to continue working under the name "Fiction Junction," and even had the domain name saved, but it was just the name.

This time, I tried using this name for the first time, in the form of an insert song for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.

Utamono songs are usually released under the name of the vocalist who sings them, and in the future, if I'm "requested" by someone and create a song based on that person's image, I think I'll submit it under the name "Kajiura Yuki." However, if I create a song primarily with Kajiura Yuki from the start and then choose someone who fits the vocal image and ask them to sing, it seems strange to release it under the vocalist's name.

For songs like that, I'm thinking of going with the name "Fiction Junction featuring..." Basically, this is the name of Kajiura Yuki's solo project. I'd like to release an album under the name Fiction Junction someday. (It's a bit premature, considering we only have one song.)

The domain name FictionJunction.com, which I went to the trouble of registering, is currently just "just there," so I hope to turn it into a proper "Fiction Junction" activity page someday. (It's a bit premature, considering we only have one song.)

The first song is "Akatsuki no Kuruma" (Car at Dawn).

YUUKA is Yuuka Nanri, who has sung with me many times in musicals in the past. I really love her melancholic voice, and I've always wanted to work with her on something.
This song will be included on one of the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED"-related CDs to be released by Victor in the future.

Nice explanations. Automatic still translates the kuruma part wrong

This kinda clarifies the whole FJ naming logic ?

- Songs under the vocalist name composed by Kajiura = requested songs
- Songs released with FictionJuction + vocalist = songs created by Kajiura who then asks the vocalist to sing them because her voice (vocal image) fits better to the song (?)

Maybe, yes, but probably not exclusively (or not necessarily longer the case)?

I seem to remember an interview with either LiSA/Aimer or Kajiura herself around some Kimetsu single that said Kajiura didn't know who was going to sing the song she submitted as a demo. Or maybe it was the singer being surprised that the chosen song was submitted by Kajiura...

or maybe it was about Fena and JUNNA?

lol. I wish my memory wasn't shite...

I guess it doesn't really matter.

I think Kajiura or Mori (or whoever was in charge of the decision) shot themselves in the foot by taking out the "featuring" part out back then...

Yea i mean in first case, Kajiura is asked to compose the song either by the director of a show or the artist herself. She doesnt compose the song by her own initiative but only when she is asked to.

In 2nd case she composed the song first without anyone's request, then she chooses the vocalist.
