Yes, palawa is right, the cpm version is as the live version. Ryvious recorded his piano part so the final instrumental should be ready soon :) then goes the vocals recording :)

palawa, did you actually play the drums, or is this using a program? It's really good!!

:omg: I played it
Wow, when I posted my drums part before going to work, I was very worried about your reaction and feeling, I'm very very glad you liked it :sohappy: thanks

Ryvius sent me the piano part :nosebleed:

Okay, guys, after talk with palawa we decided that you can record you vocals from today (July 26) untill August 1, then palawa will need 1 day of mix them with the instrumental of the song, and 4 days to fix things might occur. The instrumental is not ready yet, but you can use the live version of everlasting song [its included into the FJ 2008-2010 Best of Disc] (which has the same tempo as the cpm version to do your recording).

Dont forget to refer here viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1816&p=68698#p68698

Good luck everyone!!! :sohappy: :sohappy:

Post by palawa with recording instructions will follow ;)

I really don't mean to be an ass/pessimist, but INB4 everyone plays instruments/sings in different key. Uh, I would really recommend recording to a cpm-instrumental-with-at-least-some-basic-harmonics... :uh..:

Re: Yuki Kajiura Birthday Project 2010

So, for the vocals parts there are several points we have to care about:

- You'll have to send them to me or george.

- There's are some vocal parts that some of you will have to sing which will be mixed with the other members, so PLEASE, respect the tempo.

- Even if the tempo and the tone are perfect there will be another problem which is the synchronization:

My meaning is that if you sings one word a bit earlier and then compensate with another word you sing a bit later to compensate and respect the tempo (which can sounds good), it won't fit with the other CPMers who sings with you if he/she doesn't sing one word earlier then one later, and it won't sounds good I'm afraid.

- I will ask you during your recording, before you starts singing wait one or two seconds (without singing or talking). By doing this, during this one or two seconds, there will be only noise, and I need it to remove that noise while you're singing.

I think that's all for now, I hope I've been understandable enough.

If you have any question do not hesitate :sparkleguy:
Thanks

Hmm... okay, I have a lyrics question.

For the Yuriko+Wakana background vocals @ 5:52 in the lives (2:40 in the studio karaoke) what do you recommend so everyone does the same thing. It's not in the lyrics posted earlier.

"aa
singing in the ?air?
you are my ?sun/song?
you are my ?life/love? (something else in studio, but we don't care about that)
aa"

lol?

I also have one question. I have two parts, which are separated by a period of over one minute where I don't sing. Should I do my recording in one long shot (as in, include the 1+ minute of silence) or do the two parts separately and save as two files?

I think it would be the best to send it all in one continuous file to make it easier for palawa to manage and sync, but maybe he should speak up on this...

I was wondering about that too. :/

And I have some suggestions for the last verse actually. The voices overlap a lot there and it's a bit confusing and I'm not sure what we're supposed to do.
Anyway, seeing as it is the end of the song, I thought it would be awesome if we all sang there. For example, something like this would be epic:

<girls> far in the land of eternity
<boys> you’re my everlasting song…
<girls> come and I'll fly you with my song
<boys> come fly with me
<all together> far in the land of eternity

Also, I was wondering... do we have enough sopranos? *w*

hm... you might laugh, but this is the first time I notice that the chorus in this part is in english ^^;

So... what I hear is:

"aa

singing in the air
you are my ?sun/song? (in the previous english part they sing "song'' as sun but I guess its "song" because in other stanzas they say "you are my everlasting song" so it would fit better if it was song and not sun XD)
you are my ?life/love? (< I think its "love" .. not sure)
aa
sora ni hibiku"

I also thought about that :ayashii:

If you are sure that your all in one part respects the tempo and the sync as grunty said it will be easier to handle. But two separated files would be easier for you I think.

Do as you wish.

:uh..: I didn't think about it

Okay, so I'll be part of the soprano parts in the sections I'm doing?
My higher notes are better than my lower ones... :/

Oh, what do I do for the last section of the intro? Harmonies, Yuriko's part, or a bit of both?

edit//
I'll just record both parts and figure it out then. :XD:

Question: Since tsubasa and I switched, I am now singing "harmonies" in the English-bridge. Thus, I'm just going to sing all of Keiko's lines as "harmonies". Is that okay?

"Come and fly to me........... every wish and desire leads me back to the land of heavenly mystery"
Red denotes HARMONY
Blue denotes MELODY

said keiko lines :XD:

I did a sample just now; SAMPLE. NOT FINAL. Of what I'm planning on doing.
I noticed that there were a few parts of the division where there IS harmony but there was no indication that anyone was singing it, so I included it in the SAMPLE. If I should NOT sing those parts, LET ME KNOW PLEASE! ^_^; Thanks!

said parts:
1. "Nani yori kakegai no nai kimi e no omoi ga
Kurikaeshiteta toki no nagare wo
Mirai e to kaete yuku
"
I sang the green part as harmony

2. "Te wo totte futari de kanaderu
setsunai ongaku ga
itsuka wa hitotsu ni tokenai
owaranai MERODII
sora ni hibiku"
--> In this part, YURIKO KAIDA (i believe) and WAKANA are singing some sort of english phrase (I transliterated as "ahhhhhh singing in the ahhhhh you are my love... you are my love... ahhhhhh ahhhhh" And I added it in the SAMPLE. Tell me if you don't want me to do this

Anyways, here's the sample. Don't judge too harshly please!! I'm doing the best I can at 3:00 AM :blood: :blood: :sparkleguy: :sparkleguy:

NOTE: Left-track = KEIKO harmonies; Right-Track = KAORI harmonies
(I won't send the final product like this; did this for clarification purposes)

Yup! You should try both and see how it turns out. :)

Can't wait to listen to your samples Kizu. I am at work right now unfortunately.
Would you mind if I used your harmonies as a base to do the "aaaah" part in "te wo totte..."? *wants to give it a try*
