Ok, now some stuff about me. God, I know I'm going to suck at this stuff. I hate talking in front of a big group of people even moar.

Well, I have been into Yuki and Japanese music too long to remember the exact date so I can't tell you that. XD Me and girlfriend are trying to collect everything Yuki that is out there, but that's damn near impossible. I envy all the people who live in Japan and can order stuff from "Yahoo! オークション". I'm too old I bet. And it seems like everyone here is possibly younger than me. :huh: I'm 29 and not employed at the moment but I'm looking. My girlfriend is a member here, but I don't think she'd want me to say who she is, so I'll have to keep my lips sealed until she says it's ok. XD

WOW, 24 DAYS WITHOUT CPM. Okay, this was not how I envisioned my return here at all. orz

tl;dr explanation/story follows

To make a long story short, Archelle has been away due to burnout from hanging out too much here (and *cough* to see how the CPM trolls are going to react without us around). Also, I was busy for the last four weeks cleaning out the external hard drive Arcadio agreed to leave behind with me. I wish it was a matter of just deleting almost everything on sight, but most of them are actually music files, and I wanted to listen to them before doing so. Still not done, but at least I managed to clear out about ~60 GB so far.

I’d like to think I was a good girl and still kept up with FJ Yukifina-related news during my absence. I also think the name of Chiaki Ishikawa’s second album is lol weird (first it was “I still don’t know anything.”, now it’s “what no one ever told me” aka recycling the name of her First Pain b-side). Sucks to hear that Kalafina had technical problems at a live they did recently.

And no, I don’t think I’ll be putting down any money for FJ/Yuki live vol. #4 DVDs, because flying DOG/Victor is stupid for releasing the two parts separately. Or does Yuki have something against double disc releases? But I won’t have any problems memorizing their catalogue numbers, because it has my lucky number in it!!! I already made Arcadio pre-order Rekishi Hiwa Historia OST and two other singles anyways, so there’s no way I’m budgetting anything for this. Live vol. #5 sounds interesting too.

I also recently sightread the Yuki yasashii piano and Xenosaga II books recently. Xenosaga II is way more challenging and has better arrangements. Some of the arrangements in yasashii piano just… falls flat, like “a song of storm and fire”. Or maybe because my sightreading is crappy. Of course I didn’t overlook the disclaimer at the beginning that said pieces are abridged, but it’s hard not to notice “Lacrimosa” lost its second verse and “Kimi ga Hikari ni Kaeteiku” ends prematurely. Also, that book made me realize I don’t like transpositions – if the original key is C# major, don’t put it a semitone down to C.

The transposition is not really a problem, you can just transpose back (the original key IS mentioned). But I do agree that the yasashii piano book is WAY too undercomplicated and it misses large parts of many of the songs.
The Salva Nos cover I did was taken from the yasashii piano book, although I changed it so much no one could ever hear that if I didn't say it was so here.

The Xenosaga II book is quite good and I will definitely record some of these pieces in the future, after making arrangements for / recording Akatsuki no Kuruma and Kiss Me Goodbye (FF XII, red.).
