Kalafina Performs "Oblivious" Live at Nico Fare - HD Remaster

This was lovely to hear them sing live and was probably more consistent than some of the others.

Now I am REALLY curious to hear FictionJunction cover these 3 songs (Heavenly Blue, Oblivious, Aleluia), knowing that there would be reliable soprano and head voice vocals on hand. I think it would get the vocal harmonies to sound next-level (as intended).
Oh having heard YKL #20 now I CAN'T WAIT to hear FictionJunction cover Heavenly Blue, Oblivious, Aleluia - and Serenato, Lirica, and such.

"Ring Your Bell (In the Silence)" from the Kalafina YouTube channel.

As I've said a million times, this is the first thing I ever heard of Kalafina/Kajiura! What a composition.

Haunting and inviting and at the same time short and sweet, it was essentially the best possible portal I could have had into Kajiura's music.

The start with those harmonies played a big part in that initial pull, and with the chorus having those soaring strings and dissonant aspects and modulations, I was in another world and haven't left since!

Lullaby (Yuki Kajiura & Tulivu Donna Cumberbatch)

So, I was checking through Wikipedia pages and found out that Tulivu Cumberbatch died back in 2022.

Her rendition of Lullaby was one of the first Kajiura songs I ever fell in love with. It’s given me some peace through some difficult times, and I’m really grateful for her contribution to one of my all-time favorite albums (FICTION).

May she rest in peace, regardless of how much time has passed and will continue to pass us by.

I'd never heard this!!!! Only the one by Yuriko for FictionJunction.

So, Kajiura, had a really jazzy track at some point! Who'd have thunk? Tulivu-Donna had a powerful and soulful voice. I would like to hear a cover by maybe Geila Zilkha.

Her Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulivu-Donna_Cumberbatch

So she actually sang a commissioned jazz version of Kajiura's original version. The musicians were Tulivu-Donna's crew. They probably had free reign to put it together the way they wanted, being a jazz group.
