^touhou project is actually a doujin (indie) game from the bullet hell genre. there's a bunch of official spinoffs that are like fighter games, but generally the bullet ones are more fun and usually have better themes! there's no official anime, but a lot of circles have attempted to make their own adaptation. fans generally agree that "memories of phantasm" is the best we have so far, though, and i agree wholeheartedly! a lot of the touhou songs i post on these forums are covers done by many many many different doujin circles, so they're not official but still amazing in their own right if you want to know more, just PM me! i'm always glad to introduce people to a fandom that literally changed my life.
as of right now, i'm listening to the title theme of my favorite game in the series (imperishable night); it's called 永夜抄 ~ Eastern Night:
